Hi, When we are flying VFR in VR, with a map showing headings and distance, the main issue in VR is that we do not have a watch. In real flights we use a watch to check when we are going to reach the good place. In VR hard to do. Do you know if there exists a mod, or a tool, that could display a watch in VR, or even better, a timer? Or even the best, a tool that could calculate the ETA of the next waypoint according speed and distance we will put in? Thanks

PointCTRL - Finger Mounted VR Controller
harf4ng replied to MilesD's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Hi, This device emulates mouse isn't it? Or is it separate from mouse? For instance if I move the mouse does it conflict with pointctrl? That would be great to have it emulate a vr controller as well. I have a vive, clicking on the left of the headset fires up the steamvr interface that allows me to launch desktop view for instance which can be handy to do something on the desktop without removing my headset... BUT I need to fire up my steamvr controller to be able to click on anything inside this VR interface. Not very convenient... would be amazing to be able to do that with pointctrl... Thanks- 3421 replies

[Official] SimShaker for Aviators
harf4ng replied to f4l0's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
If you click on "start" in the "massage" panel on the screenshot you provided, do you have vibrations? To check if this is an issue between simshaker and dcs, or just simshaker, maybe with the jetseat. Try with just USB connected, unplug the jack wires. Also with the jack unplugged, do vibration work inside the jetseat control panel? And don't forget when you want to try simshaker that the jetseat control panel must be closed... -

What you're describing seems to be the jetseat not working in USB. In the jetseat control panel, did you try the "test motors" feature to check if your seat is working well in USB mode? Also with my version (the forcefeel) I can switch from USB to sound audio with the driver, the control panel. Also have you setup simshaker to use USB and not sound device (in service tab) ? -

Not very important. Does it worrk in the sim? I always fly with the generic setting for my aircraft, I mean everything at 50%, and it works well. Though btw anybody is flying the UH1 helicopter with simshaker and has recommended settings I could try to improve it? -

The same for me. If I use autostart when it opens I get a microsoft .net exception. Do not get that if I manually start it... -
Hi, Not related especially to vaicom, but to voice attack as a whole. Do you setup voice attack so it listens only when you hold a joystick button ? Or as soon as you speak ? On videos seems people setup that just by speaking, but isnt it an issue when for instance you're talking to someone (like in multiplayer for instance) and suddenly voice attack recon a sentence and fire up the Keys ? Thanks

Where is the option in 2.1.3? Can't find it. Nevermind I found. Right clicking on the traybar icon then "open settings" Though I still have the same issue, each time I open the settings the checkbox is unchecked... Edit: so the start at windows boot works, even if the checkbox remains unchecked. Odd :) Thanks -

The new version beta 2.1.2 does not even have the option. Though I was unable to have it work even for older versions. The option was there but did nothing. -

So, my first bug. For whatever reason, I cannot check the "start with windows" checkbox. Also a feedback, that would be great if checking the close (X) button top right will send the app to the traybar instead of closing it. Thanks -

So installer was downloaded and installed without any issue. Just a windows security warning but hey I can trust you isn't it? :) Massage and motor testing of my forcefeel from inside the app works fine. Now I'll have to try in DCS. Will give you feedback. -

Link does not work? When I click on it I get a onedrive error saying it can't find the file. I would be happy to test it. Oh and btw should I use the generic helicopter setting for all helicopters? Or are there profiles somewhere for some helicopters in DCS? -
In steam there is an option to have your computer desktop on screen. Of course with my old HTC Vive the resolution is not good enough to use it often. So you can do that, with dedicated apps to watch videos, like windscreen for instance, or whirlwind, or just by showing your computer desktop to watch youtube. Just wonder why you want to do that. To not disturb your wife with the light of your screen? Don't forget to turn off your screen then. But yes this is doable.

Hi, Is there an easy way to disable all bindings but the keyboard ones ? I have a lot of sticks on my computer and each time I try a new plane I have to do it one by one. For instance I have a warthog stick and also an helicopter cyclic so i dont want the cyclic to interfere with the stick when I fly planes. Thanks

PointCTRL - Finger Mounted VR Controller
harf4ng replied to MilesD's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Hi, I wonder, does it emulate a mouse? Or a VR tracking device? So, if we move our head, does the pointer also moves, as with a mouse? Or does it stay still and move only with your finger as a VR tracking device? Thanks- 3421 replies

Hi, In the mission editor I would like to add an helicopter on a carrier, but cold and start from a parking. It works, I mean ok I can add it cold and start, from parking 1 to 4, but those parking number are stupid, they are in the middle of the deck, or on the catapult, or on the landing zone. There is no way to customize that to choose exactly where we want the helicopter (or plane) to be, and in what direction? Thanks
-
And what about the OWNERS of the supercarrier module, who fly helicopters? Are we able to interact with the crew? Or is the supercarrier module only designed for navy planes with a hook?
-
So, no chance to have that for the current dcs version? That would fit well with the Huey...
-
+1 This would fit amazingly well with the Huey :)
-
The thing is, the Huey, even if it is an amazing bird to fly, is an old helicopter, used in old wars, like vietnam. We do not have vietnam maps. Our maps are either too modern, or too old (normandy, ww2). So beside just fun, the Huey is not really into the era dcs maps are. The UH60 is a modern helicopter, used today, so better in the era of the maps we have... This is a bit like ww2 planes... look at the missions we have for those planes. Usually those are not war missions (especially before we got normandy maps), but more missions like a modern pilot flying an old plane for whatever reason. So, the UH60 will fit better in DCS than the huey. Except of course if they do plan on making vietnam maps from the 60th... That could be a good idea... though in fact any helicopter could land on a supercarrier :) This is not like a plane, a plane needs a hook, so any plane cannot land on a carrier. Helicopters can. So even the UH60 could be used from a carrier from gameplay point of view. The MH60 is great as well, any modern helicopter would fit me well :)

VRK - a virtual reality enabled kneeboard with touch and ink support
harf4ng replied to AMVI_Rider's topic in DCS Modding
When I was a pilot student I used to have a kneeboard to have airport charts for when I have to land or approach any airport. Now I do not fly anymore so I use flight sim as an alternative :) That would be great to have such a tool (VRK) in the upcoming microsoft flight simulator :) -

Did you make this kneeboard bracket yourself? As I was a real plane student i have a real kneeboard, wonder if I can fit it on :) What I wonder is how you find the stylus when you need it. Do the stylus position appear in the VR world? Doubt it as there is no positioning on the stylus. So in fact I wonder how you move the stylus to the button you want to click on. You slide it on the tablet till the cursor is in place? Oh and... do you use a single tablet/pen for the two kneeboards? Or do you use just one kneeboard? Unsure what they use in real life for military, but for civilian real flights I doubt they use two kneeboards :) Thanks -

Ho btw does it mean you should tie the tablet on your knee like a real kneeboard? :) -

Oh ok so we need a tablet to use it. But isn't it kinda strange to have to use a real tablet in VR? I mean, will you see the pen inside DCS, and the tablet as well, to know where it is? Or you have to put the real tablet and the virtual one at the same place to be able to easily find it?
