With it I can do car racing, space sims, helicopter and plane flying either modern ones or WW2... All in VR of course... Envoyé de mon SM-G955F en utilisant Tapatalk

Me too I'll never replace my HOTAS. Though a leap motion system will be fine even without haptic. Indeed you do not see your own hands though you see virtual hands. This is like an improved mouse, more intuitive than a mouse. And it will allow you to use either the left or right hand, unlike the mouse. Envoyé de mon SM-G955F en utilisant Tapatalk

And so you'll drop your stick, grab the controller then drop the controller, grab the stick again? Not very convenient especially in VR when you can't see your stick or controllers or your surrounding... I hope for something like leap motion. As if not, that will not be very interesting. Anyway in my real plane I look at the switches when I operate them so it will not change much from reality. When you use the mouse to operate switches you look at the switch as well. And even if you do not have to look at switches in a real plane, I think often you do. Look at those people in airliners. There are hundreds of switches, close one to another. So I think they at least have a glance where they put their hands on. Now, look closer at the ED statement. They are talking about two different things. They are talking about the possibility to use the touch controllers as throttle and stick. So in this statement yes they are probably talking about the oculus touch controllers, or maybe they will add vive support as well for their controllers. But they are also stating that you'll be able to operate the switches with your finger (sorry I'm on my phone and do not have exact statement). So THIS part is to me something like leapmotion where you can operate the switches with your bare hands. And THAT is very interesting, because this is what is missing in VR. When I first tried VR with DCS, things were so real, it was very frustrating not being able to operate switches with our hands :) Envoyé de mon SM-G955F en utilisant Tapatalk

Certainly not as they talk about touching the switches with our fingers. Not with a controller. This is likely something like leap motion. Envoyé de mon SM-G955F en utilisant Tapatalk

What I wonder is... What will they use for the touch system? Leap motion? Or a custom made device? I would love to be able to operate switches with my fingers... Envoyé de mon SM-G955F en utilisant Tapatalk

Hi, Is it possible in DCS to display the speed on the hud somewhere regarding of the plane? As a number. I would like to run on the runway to 100 mph and record a video at this speed on the runway, but hard to do with just the small gauge. Thanks Envoyé de mon SM-G955F en utilisant Tapatalk

Hi, The beta changed website? I mean, I always get an error message saying it cannot find the file to update it. And if I click on the link provided on the beta facebook group, I have a message saying the resource cannot be found. Thanks -
The vive Pro is maybe the best, but very expensive too. As base stations and controllers are not provided with, and they cost the price of a vive. So to get the vive Pro you need to buy a vive, then a vive Pro. So you could just get the vive :) This is what I have the vive, and it works great. Of course VR is a bit blurry, but that is the case of all current gen VR headset. The vive Pro has better resolution, but it comes to a cost, and not a small one. About blurriness you could play with the new feature in DCS for VR, dont remember the name, which helps with that. The vive has a knob to setup that but I'm not really happy about the max range of this setting. The dcs setting allows you now to setup this as you wish. And with that you'll see better the instruments. Not crystal clear of course, but better. Don't forget as well that in VR you could lean to watch an instrument, this is easy and quick, or you could also use the zoom feature mapped on a button. But really once you tried flying (or racing) in VR you couldn't go back to flat screens. I got the vive as well for room games but it is a bit too complicate to always move the living room table when I want to play so I stick with flight and racing sims :) Good luck... Thanks for the videos they will be helpful. Guess I will have to remove the visible stick in the plane as I noticed that it is hard to reach the controls behind :) Or maybe in VR if I can lean to reach them... Envoyé de mon SM-G955F en utilisant Tapatalk

Hi, Something I wonder in the F86. For a cold and dark start, we have to hit home key once to put the throttle to off to on position, then home again to put it to idle. The warthog throttle has an off/on position that works fine for that, except it works just once. Means if I start the sim from the off position in the throttle, I can put it to on but then not to idle. I still have to push the home key at least once. Either first to put it from off to on, then I use the throttle to put it to idle, or I use the throttle once, but then I have to push the home key once to put it to idle. To stop the engine I do not have the issue, as pushing it to the off position does the same as in the sim. So do you have a tip to have it work as intended? The only workaround I found is to use the twin lever of the warthog throttle, so I use first the left one, so it puts the engine to on, then the right one, to put it to idle. Thanks

Thanks. I answered in my other thread... :) Oh and btw I have a cold start in my training menu, and I also found a cold start training in the user made missions. Anybody tried the two and what's the difference?
-
Thanks. Just bought it. Though I'll first learn to fly this, cold start, take-off land and use weapons before starting that. I'm weird at using weapons especially rockets or bombs. Cannot well understand how to attack a target on ground with dive bombing, I always miss my target :) Envoyé de mon SM-G955F en utilisant Tapatalk

Does it overwrite the existing caucasus? Or does it allow to have the original caucasus then another map for vietnam? Thanks

I love this plane. As also I'm a big fan of buck danny comics and in a few ones he flew those. If I have a drawback about this plane is the lack of a campaign or even missions. Just a few missions provided it and that's all... I want campaigns for the sabre :)
-
Hi, I bought the sabre long ago, when it was on beta. So, beta means unfinished, that is ok. Now, the sabre is finished, right? Years after, still no campaign available in the module? Not even payware ones? Just those little missions provided with? Belsimtek lost interest of this plane? Thanks
-
And I noticed as well a dynamic campaign with DCE. :) Envoyé de mon SM-G955F en utilisant Tapatalk

Something I wonder about WW2 carrier ops. The fact there has been dedicated planes for carrier ops in WW2 means had a hook as well to stop at this time as well? Though to take-off they didn't have catapult so the deck was long enough to take-off, but not long enough to land without a hook? Or si it because it is easier to take-off as you can start from the edge of the deck, whereas when you land you do not always catch the edge? Thanks Envoyé de mon SM-G955F en utilisant Tapatalk

Or I could land on a carrier with my huey :) Will be easier :) Envoyé de mon SM-G955F en utilisant Tapatalk

The huey is what I'm flying nowadays. Starting again after months not playing. With full size cyclic and the warthog throttle as collective it works fine. I'm on the third UN mission :) And in VR of course... Envoyé de mon SM-G955F en utilisant Tapatalk

I'm not really into Russian planes... More a western guy :) I even never tried the free SU included in DCS :) I was more into old planes like the saber and the WW2 warbords, helicopters as well, but I thought about getting a more modern plane as well... Envoyé de mon SM-G955F en utilisant Tapatalk

15$ the F15, though indeed with bonus credits it falls down to 11$. Envoyé de mon SM-G955F en utilisant Tapatalk

Indeed in the movie with pappy boyington, they were ground based. :) Envoyé de mon SM-G955F en utilisant Tapatalk

Anybody has plan to make a dynamic campaign for the F18 when it will be out? Thanks

Wonder why we have a F15E layer model in the DCS menu if there is no F15E :)
