PointCTRL - Finger Mounted VR Controller
harf4ng replied to MilesD's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Hi, I wonder, does it emulate a mouse? Or a VR tracking device? So, if we move our head, does the pointer also moves, as with a mouse? Or does it stay still and move only with your finger as a VR tracking device? Thanks- 3421 replies

Hi, In the mission editor I would like to add an helicopter on a carrier, but cold and start from a parking. It works, I mean ok I can add it cold and start, from parking 1 to 4, but those parking number are stupid, they are in the middle of the deck, or on the catapult, or on the landing zone. There is no way to customize that to choose exactly where we want the helicopter (or plane) to be, and in what direction? Thanks
-
And what about the OWNERS of the supercarrier module, who fly helicopters? Are we able to interact with the crew? Or is the supercarrier module only designed for navy planes with a hook?
-
So, no chance to have that for the current dcs version? That would fit well with the Huey...
-
+1 This would fit amazingly well with the Huey :)
-
The thing is, the Huey, even if it is an amazing bird to fly, is an old helicopter, used in old wars, like vietnam. We do not have vietnam maps. Our maps are either too modern, or too old (normandy, ww2). So beside just fun, the Huey is not really into the era dcs maps are. The UH60 is a modern helicopter, used today, so better in the era of the maps we have... This is a bit like ww2 planes... look at the missions we have for those planes. Usually those are not war missions (especially before we got normandy maps), but more missions like a modern pilot flying an old plane for whatever reason. So, the UH60 will fit better in DCS than the huey. Except of course if they do plan on making vietnam maps from the 60th... That could be a good idea... though in fact any helicopter could land on a supercarrier :) This is not like a plane, a plane needs a hook, so any plane cannot land on a carrier. Helicopters can. So even the UH60 could be used from a carrier from gameplay point of view. The MH60 is great as well, any modern helicopter would fit me well :)

VRK - a virtual reality enabled kneeboard with touch and ink support
harf4ng replied to AMVI_Rider's topic in DCS Modding
When I was a pilot student I used to have a kneeboard to have airport charts for when I have to land or approach any airport. Now I do not fly anymore so I use flight sim as an alternative :) That would be great to have such a tool (VRK) in the upcoming microsoft flight simulator :) -

Did you make this kneeboard bracket yourself? As I was a real plane student i have a real kneeboard, wonder if I can fit it on :) What I wonder is how you find the stylus when you need it. Do the stylus position appear in the VR world? Doubt it as there is no positioning on the stylus. So in fact I wonder how you move the stylus to the button you want to click on. You slide it on the tablet till the cursor is in place? Oh and... do you use a single tablet/pen for the two kneeboards? Or do you use just one kneeboard? Unsure what they use in real life for military, but for civilian real flights I doubt they use two kneeboards :) Thanks -

Ho btw does it mean you should tie the tablet on your knee like a real kneeboard? :) -

Oh ok so we need a tablet to use it. But isn't it kinda strange to have to use a real tablet in VR? I mean, will you see the pen inside DCS, and the tablet as well, to know where it is? Or you have to put the real tablet and the virtual one at the same place to be able to easily find it? -

This is an amazing app, thanks. Though I have two questions : First, I'm unable to click on next / previous page in the kneeboard is it normal? I guess I can handle that by adding keystrokes but that could be useful to be able to just click. Second, that could be great to be able to have completely different position settings when focused and out of focus, so to have the kneeboard on our knee, as it should be, but when we focus on it to have it display in front of our windscreen for easier reading. Thanks -
Hi, Do you know if this is possible in DCS (VR mode) to display a pdf somewhere in the cockpit, with the possibility to move the sheet where we want? I have chuck guides and that could be helpful in VR to be able to read them and apply the tips while reading it, without the need to go on or off DCS for that. Thanks

Why I love the F-86 in DCS - You Might Too
harf4ng replied to flameoutme's topic in DCS: F-86F Sabre
I love the sabre because of a comics, buck danny, when I was younger :) Not a lot of campaigns for it though, only two... -
Hi, The F86 has a dual trigger system. First trigger activates a camera, when pulling the trigger to the max fire the guns. I have only one trigger not two. Do I miss something then? Unsure what the camera gun is about and how it works. Thanks

Hi, About the flap lever first, to better explain my issue with airbrakes. When I push the flap down button it put the flap lever down. When I release the button, it puts the lever neutral. I like this behaviour, it allows to good mimic the aircraft systems. I would like the same for airbrakes, but for whatever reason it does not work. If I setup two buttons for airbrakes on and off, it works but then I always have the airbrakes button either up or down, never neutral, and it also means I can't stop the airbrakes mid position, they are always either full down or full up. Any way to have a behaviour like the flaps, so when I release a button it put the airbrakes to neutral? Thanks

Really? Those are bad news :) No way I could fix my gametrix ^^ I have not the knowledge for that ^^ Good that simshaker for wheels work with the realteus, at least I could use it for car driving, if not for sim flying... -
[Official] SimShaker for Aviators
harf4ng replied to f4l0's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Good afternoon, Could you tell me is Simshaker for aviators now support the new realteus device? I had a gametrix which stopped working, and now I have a realteus forcefeel device I would like to use with simshaker for aviators. And, if not, any idea when it will be supported? Hard to imagine flying without that, now. Simshaker along with VR is to me a must have :) (Of course I'm talking about a real integration with the USB device, not sound module) Thanks -
Only helicopter I flew was the 206, only three times, and to me this was very sensitive. Very hard to hover. I fly the huey better than I managed to do with the 206... :) Envoyé de mon SM-G955F en utilisant Tapatalk

No problem for me, release it when it is ready. I already bought it some times ago, and I'll wait for it to be ready. Very unlikely but would be cool if we could really be the co-pilot while the AI is flying the plane :) Envoyé de mon SM-G955F en utilisant Tapatalk

This is aluminium profiles. You can buy them at motedis. This is not that expensive. Though this is European and unsure for the US. Envoyé de mon SM-G955F en utilisant Tapatalk

Something I wonder, I have uninstalled ssa (and also simshaker wheels) because I have no more gametrix, while I wait for the new forcefeel, but each time I start my computer I have a message asking if I want to install them again... Thanks Envoyé de mon SM-G955F en utilisant Tapatalk -

Wings worked with gametrix. It does not work with forcefeel yet? I thought it was about the same technology... Envoyé de mon SM-G955F en utilisant Tapatalk -
No need for a 4K TV when you have VR. I play DCS only in VR. No I have no buttkicker. I tried but it made my whole house vibrates so not possible. BUT I had a gametrix vibration pad, about the same kind of thing but closer to the body so only the body vibrates. It is out of order now but I ordered a forcefeel vibration pad, the new pad from the same company. Those pads work either in USB with simshaker for wheels or the one for planes, or through sound output for games which does not support this USB. Envoyé de mon SM-G955F en utilisant Tapatalk

This is a pro flight trainer puma. A whole set with cyclic, collective and pedals. I have removed the collective to put it in my rig elsewhere. And the control box too. Envoyé de mon SM-G955F en utilisant Tapatalk
