VRK - a virtual reality enabled kneeboard with touch and ink support
harf4ng replied to AMVI_Rider's topic in DCS Modding
This is an amazing app, thanks. Though I have two questions : First, I'm unable to click on next / previous page in the kneeboard is it normal? I guess I can handle that by adding keystrokes but that could be useful to be able to just click. Second, that could be great to be able to have completely different position settings when focused and out of focus, so to have the kneeboard on our knee, as it should be, but when we focus on it to have it display in front of our windscreen for easier reading. Thanks -
Hi, Do you know if this is possible in DCS (VR mode) to display a pdf somewhere in the cockpit, with the possibility to move the sheet where we want? I have chuck guides and that could be helpful in VR to be able to read them and apply the tips while reading it, without the need to go on or off DCS for that. Thanks

Why I love the F-86 in DCS - You Might Too
harf4ng replied to flameoutme's topic in DCS: F-86F Sabre
I love the sabre because of a comics, buck danny, when I was younger :) Not a lot of campaigns for it though, only two... -
Hi, The F86 has a dual trigger system. First trigger activates a camera, when pulling the trigger to the max fire the guns. I have only one trigger not two. Do I miss something then? Unsure what the camera gun is about and how it works. Thanks

Hi, About the flap lever first, to better explain my issue with airbrakes. When I push the flap down button it put the flap lever down. When I release the button, it puts the lever neutral. I like this behaviour, it allows to good mimic the aircraft systems. I would like the same for airbrakes, but for whatever reason it does not work. If I setup two buttons for airbrakes on and off, it works but then I always have the airbrakes button either up or down, never neutral, and it also means I can't stop the airbrakes mid position, they are always either full down or full up. Any way to have a behaviour like the flaps, so when I release a button it put the airbrakes to neutral? Thanks

Really? Those are bad news :) No way I could fix my gametrix ^^ I have not the knowledge for that ^^ Good that simshaker for wheels work with the realteus, at least I could use it for car driving, if not for sim flying... -

Good afternoon, Could you tell me is Simshaker for aviators now support the new realteus device? I had a gametrix which stopped working, and now I have a realteus forcefeel device I would like to use with simshaker for aviators. And, if not, any idea when it will be supported? Hard to imagine flying without that, now. Simshaker along with VR is to me a must have :) (Of course I'm talking about a real integration with the USB device, not sound module) Thanks -
Only helicopter I flew was the 206, only three times, and to me this was very sensitive. Very hard to hover. I fly the huey better than I managed to do with the 206... :) Envoyé de mon SM-G955F en utilisant Tapatalk

No problem for me, release it when it is ready. I already bought it some times ago, and I'll wait for it to be ready. Very unlikely but would be cool if we could really be the co-pilot while the AI is flying the plane :) Envoyé de mon SM-G955F en utilisant Tapatalk

This is aluminium profiles. You can buy them at motedis. This is not that expensive. Though this is European and unsure for the US. Envoyé de mon SM-G955F en utilisant Tapatalk

Something I wonder, I have uninstalled ssa (and also simshaker wheels) because I have no more gametrix, while I wait for the new forcefeel, but each time I start my computer I have a message asking if I want to install them again... Thanks Envoyé de mon SM-G955F en utilisant Tapatalk -

Wings worked with gametrix. It does not work with forcefeel yet? I thought it was about the same technology... Envoyé de mon SM-G955F en utilisant Tapatalk -
No need for a 4K TV when you have VR. I play DCS only in VR. No I have no buttkicker. I tried but it made my whole house vibrates so not possible. BUT I had a gametrix vibration pad, about the same kind of thing but closer to the body so only the body vibrates. It is out of order now but I ordered a forcefeel vibration pad, the new pad from the same company. Those pads work either in USB with simshaker for wheels or the one for planes, or through sound output for games which does not support this USB. Envoyé de mon SM-G955F en utilisant Tapatalk

This is a pro flight trainer puma. A whole set with cyclic, collective and pedals. I have removed the collective to put it in my rig elsewhere. And the control box too. Envoyé de mon SM-G955F en utilisant Tapatalk

With it I can do car racing, space sims, helicopter and plane flying either modern ones or WW2... All in VR of course... Envoyé de mon SM-G955F en utilisant Tapatalk

Me too I'll never replace my HOTAS. Though a leap motion system will be fine even without haptic. Indeed you do not see your own hands though you see virtual hands. This is like an improved mouse, more intuitive than a mouse. And it will allow you to use either the left or right hand, unlike the mouse. Envoyé de mon SM-G955F en utilisant Tapatalk

And so you'll drop your stick, grab the controller then drop the controller, grab the stick again? Not very convenient especially in VR when you can't see your stick or controllers or your surrounding... I hope for something like leap motion. As if not, that will not be very interesting. Anyway in my real plane I look at the switches when I operate them so it will not change much from reality. When you use the mouse to operate switches you look at the switch as well. And even if you do not have to look at switches in a real plane, I think often you do. Look at those people in airliners. There are hundreds of switches, close one to another. So I think they at least have a glance where they put their hands on. Now, look closer at the ED statement. They are talking about two different things. They are talking about the possibility to use the touch controllers as throttle and stick. So in this statement yes they are probably talking about the oculus touch controllers, or maybe they will add vive support as well for their controllers. But they are also stating that you'll be able to operate the switches with your finger (sorry I'm on my phone and do not have exact statement). So THIS part is to me something like leapmotion where you can operate the switches with your bare hands. And THAT is very interesting, because this is what is missing in VR. When I first tried VR with DCS, things were so real, it was very frustrating not being able to operate switches with our hands :) Envoyé de mon SM-G955F en utilisant Tapatalk

Certainly not as they talk about touching the switches with our fingers. Not with a controller. This is likely something like leap motion. Envoyé de mon SM-G955F en utilisant Tapatalk

What I wonder is... What will they use for the touch system? Leap motion? Or a custom made device? I would love to be able to operate switches with my fingers... Envoyé de mon SM-G955F en utilisant Tapatalk

Hi, Is it possible in DCS to display the speed on the hud somewhere regarding of the plane? As a number. I would like to run on the runway to 100 mph and record a video at this speed on the runway, but hard to do with just the small gauge. Thanks Envoyé de mon SM-G955F en utilisant Tapatalk

Hi, The beta changed website? I mean, I always get an error message saying it cannot find the file to update it. And if I click on the link provided on the beta facebook group, I have a message saying the resource cannot be found. Thanks -
The vive Pro is maybe the best, but very expensive too. As base stations and controllers are not provided with, and they cost the price of a vive. So to get the vive Pro you need to buy a vive, then a vive Pro. So you could just get the vive :) This is what I have the vive, and it works great. Of course VR is a bit blurry, but that is the case of all current gen VR headset. The vive Pro has better resolution, but it comes to a cost, and not a small one. About blurriness you could play with the new feature in DCS for VR, dont remember the name, which helps with that. The vive has a knob to setup that but I'm not really happy about the max range of this setting. The dcs setting allows you now to setup this as you wish. And with that you'll see better the instruments. Not crystal clear of course, but better. Don't forget as well that in VR you could lean to watch an instrument, this is easy and quick, or you could also use the zoom feature mapped on a button. But really once you tried flying (or racing) in VR you couldn't go back to flat screens. I got the vive as well for room games but it is a bit too complicate to always move the living room table when I want to play so I stick with flight and racing sims :) Good luck... Thanks for the videos they will be helpful. Guess I will have to remove the visible stick in the plane as I noticed that it is hard to reach the controls behind :) Or maybe in VR if I can lean to reach them... Envoyé de mon SM-G955F en utilisant Tapatalk
