  1. Well it's good the first I'm hearing about is your recovery stranger. Hope you find some time off work to enjoy those pedals! Best of luck to you.
  2. Don't own a VR headset... but is it possible that you have zoom bound to multiple axes? In like 8/10 of my DCS modules I have to unbind TrackIR_Z from the zoom axis function, so that the slider on my warthog throttle will work. I then rebind TrackIR_Z to the empty head movment function for forward/back.. which is not the same as the zoom axis. If both axes are bound (Throttle slider and TrackIR to the same function)....that function doesn't work at all. Try ensuring there is only one zoom axis and give us an update.
  3. Wholeheartedly agree. Especially at this price point.. you'd expect everything to be perfect. Considering the fate of all of my saitek gear which failed or broke within 3 years of purchase, and only moderate use until the start of this year, in 10 years when I am reapplying grease to the gimbal, I will probably be thanking myself for the money saved. Sure, I may have replaced some parts by then. But no plastic will come with screws when I take them out, that's for sure. So unless VKB gets as big as TM, I'll probably still be using this guy in a decade.
  4. Invoice received. Mine were a really nice birthday gift though, so I'll edit this post with serial # when I receive that information. I'm also going to say here something similar to what I just said to Milan. He never took more than a day to respond to any email inquiry throughout this entire process, even being as busy as might be indicated just by reading this thread over the last month. I don't vouch for people easily. It's been a pleasure doing business with Milan.
  5. I haven't taken mine apart yet, but after watching the youtube video of people who've taken theirs apart and hit it with sandpaper, pretty much everything about the gimbal is smooth except for minor things...there's a thin edge sticking up out of the gimbal that just looks like someone didn't take the time to sand it out. It really is the one major flaw.. and the stiction on my stick is only noticable when barely applying pressure to the stick. It feels smooth until you try to make slow small motions and then it will get "stuck" until I release pressure and let it move on it's own. Moving in quick motions, it works as it should.. but trying to make fine adjustments is where I know I'm going to have to take the sucker apart and at the very least put some adequate grease on it.
  6. I'd laugh if it was some kind of cruel April Fools joke from Milan.. and I might cry a little on the inside if it was from you.
  7. Wow Milan really is selling a lot of these things this quarter isn't he? Lol. I've been checking my email like a crazy person all month. I guess I will look forward to actually paying him in early April. I am glad this thread exists though, I'd be bugging Milan too much, and I don't want to take away from what time he has to spend making Crosswinds.
  8. "All the hype" is that this is the best hotas currently available to the mass consumer market. The ability to replace most of the pieces of the stick and TM selling those parts is a major plus. I'm sorry you plugged your stick in once and gave up on it. For the pricetag.. I would personally have been making sure mine worked. As far as it working with the a-10c module it should work plug and play, I went the extra mile of deleting my control configs to reset the controls to default. As long as all the buttons are functioning in windows game controller properties correctly, all it should take is checking "sync hotas with cockpit" or whatever it is and all the switches on the throttle and the throttles themselves should be exactly as they are on the TM unit. Without checking it, you actually have to flip each switch to the position they're in in the sim before it will recognize inputs from the hotas. I'm not saying the TM Warthog is perfect.. but, it's easier to take apart than plastic sticks.. so you can resodder wires when need be, there aren't any potentiometers to worry about cleaning.. and as long as your wires aren't pinched/broken and your circuit boards are functioning, the only maintenance the stick should require is regreasing the sadly plastic gimbal, that should've been smoothed and sanded before released to the market imo. It's awesome for use with the a-10c and jets. There is not a piece of technology on the planet that doesn't require maintenance or come with a chance of failure.. at least not to my knowledge, and not available to the consumer market. I'm not even saying the Hog is the best stick for every occasion. I use a cheap Logitech Extreme 3d pro for heli's/prop planes because there is way less center tension, but still a decent enough amount for me to enjoy it. I only bought it to hold me over until my Crosswinds arrive, but I think even when they do, and likely even after I do what I can to fix the Hog's "stiction" issues, I'll still use the Logitech for prop planes/heli's because it takes less muscle. But for jet's and the a-10C? Warthog stick every time. I use all of the hat switches for multiple functions..and I can't lie.. I like the feel of the cold metal. I also heavily use the afterburner detent in the throttle when flying fighter jets. I'll swap it out for planes that don't utilize burners, but, when the curves are adjusted right, I miss it when I forget to flip it back around for my su-27/f-15
  9. IMO - buy a $30 logitech extreme 3d pro (especially if your throttle still works) and get by with it until TM can send you whatever replacement parts you need. Saitek might be more affordable than a Warthog but their quality control is questionable. There's the CH fighter stick which is pretty much the exact stick made out of plastic without the pinky flapper.
  10. Best pc flightstick I've ever owned, although I do miss the x52pro's short throttle throw for games like elite: dangerous and descent, I don't see this stick being discontinued anytime soon. Mine had/has stiction issues out of the box unfortunately, but hopefully I can fix that with some grease and sandpaper. It's only noticeable when making very fine movements and trying to be extremely gentle with the stick. Otherwise it's got the perfect amount of tension, and I use the crap out of the afterburner detent when flying anything with afterburners.
  11. AFAIK as long as you hold the first stage of the trigger and guns are armed, PAC 1 is keeping your nose steady for a gun run. Even if you hit other buttons, unless they're assigned as a modifier. I don't know that there's anyway assign a "clickable" snap view... but if you're really struggling with it.. I completely recommend a head tracking device. But IMO - when I have PAC1 armed it's because I intend to BRRRRRRRRRT something so I'm generally focused right on my x-hair.
  12. Make sure the only axis/axes bound to thrust are your throttle axes.
  13. Just wanted to add if you have any other controllers other than what you intend to fly with, either unplug them, or make sure their axes aren't bound in the axis config for every individual plane you fly in DCS World options. This probably should've been my first recommendation.
  14. Are you using TrackIR or some kind of alternative? If so..check and make sure it's z axis is not bound to the zoom function you're trying to use your rotary for. If TrackIR + axis is bound to zoom it just won't work.. you can instead assign the trackir or freetrack z axis to the missing bind for head movement forward near the rest of the trackir axes in the control setup (manually select trackir z axis). As far as you plane doing a barrel roll, try unplugging and replugging in your controller, and running calibration. I mean.. I've to adjust roll trim after launching off some payload but.. even flying a p-51 with it's prop torque I haven't flown a plane that will just barrel roll on its own once in the air. If it's just a slight roll and not a barrel roll as you put it - verify your stick stays centered in windows game controller options or DCS axis tune and adjust aileron trim.. If it's not staying centered, and calibration and reinstalling your saitek drivers doesn't solve the issue.. contact saitek and get your stick replaced. Alternatively - make sure there aren't any non-existent axes bound. DCS likes to bind a Z axis to my Warthog stick and it doesn't have a Z axis.. if I don't catch it before flying a module for the first time my rudder stays on full left and sends me spinning the moment I try to taxi to a runway.
  15. I ordered in Jan 14th. I won't be surprised if it's the latter half of the month that they're shipped. But lol it does seem like the days are passing by slower now that it's getting closer. I'm confident they're worth the wait. It wouldn't be so bad if I had some kind of rudder input other than a hatswitch or slew axis. That's not Milan's fault though. And just looking at pictures of them I feel like they're going to last the rest of my life, potentially even if USB gets drowned by new standards. This is maddening. Hardly ever notice the sound of traffic until something's out for delivery...then all of the sudden every vehicle that drives by sounds loud enough to be a delivery vehicle. I've had delivery people put a "failed to deliver" notice on my door without even knocking. UPS and Fedex may cause paranoia.
  16. This first week of march has been like the longest week of my life. And it's because I know that here within the next 21 days (hopefully tomorrow..always lol) I'll be gettting an invoice for my crosswinds.
  17. Feel free. The more the merrier. So far I've been flying with 3 other people. I'm still a total noob but I'm learning.. playing w/o labels in single player now and focusing more on using my radar and eyes to get targets.. although a multiscreen setup is in the works to help with that.
  18. I've read rumors that hbm2 is likely to only be on the new titan with the 1xxx series. But I'd take that with a grain of salt.
  19. That actually sounds pretty awesome, unfortunately I don't own the l-39 or mig-21 Ibis module. It's not completely out of the question but presently I would like to gain some experience and knowledge in the modules I already own. And until my pedals arrive, the su-25t, su-27, su-33, mig-29, and f-15c are the only ones I feel comfortable flying without them.
  20. Even zoomed in I can't make them that large. By the time they are close enough to see that much detail on my screen they're fully visible and not blurry, and hurling missles for me to dodge. I was just stating my FPS so people could laugh at me for buying a new graphics card when my old one is still doing great for my current setup. I do play games where a a smooth framerate makes a difference. In DCS i can live with short dips into the 40's with the 680. But a good 2k or 4k screen might be good for defining ground targets in the near future.. so it's not a total loss.
  21. Awesome. Feel free to add me on Steam. Same name. That goes for anybody looking for wingmates or who enjoys schooling noobs.
  22. I'd gladly take you up on that opportunity.. as the ka-50 is definitely on my list of things to learn. But it'll have to be after my pedals show up. I am eagerly awaiting the invoice for my Xwinds that are due to be completed this month. There's just no way I'd be able to fly a chopper using the slew nub on my warthog as rudder. Hopefully you're still down when they get here. Fur Ninja taught me a lot about Radar in the su-27 last night that I probably would've never made heads or tails of trying to get the same info out of a manual.
  23. Cool I'll hit you up. And thread is still open to replies. I've had these DCS modules for a few years now I'm just finally getting around to figuring them out.. and I've made quite a bit of progress by myself in the last couple months.
  24. I've been flying mostly FC3 campaigns right now, I'm not so great. Struggling with radar. I have quite a few modules, - FC3, A-10C, Blackshark 2, and the p-51D. i even enjoy the su-25T although I'm not great at flying that thing when it's fully loaded. I've managed to land maybe 4-5 times without breaking a gear..Getting there. I've mostly been teaching myself. I can get off the ground, fly through way points, and although I've been playing with labels on I'm learning to find targets before they're close enough to see the labels. Currently only flying FC3 jets, as I'm without rudder pedals until my Crosswinds are finished this month.. have been using the slew nub on my warthog for rudder. I've actually learned how to be quite sensitive with it. I'm trying to get better with my radar usage. A-10C is not fun with this setup at all.. I have to set a modifier. I'm not even going to attempt flying a chopper like this. Once my rudder pedals get here I want to be able to fly every single one of the modules I currently own and I intend to buy 2.0 in the near future. I'm East Coast USA.. if that matters.. Anyway...who's flying and thinks they could teach me some things?
  25. I get it. I've been doing a lot of flying lately and falling in love with DCS. I have been flying a lot of FC3 su-27/f-15c and at a distance jets just look like a large blur with model enlargement. Had to RMA my 980ti :( 680 4gb is still rocking though. playing on the same settings, hit 40 fps once around a large area of tree's near a mountain but other than that 70-110 fps @1080p. Kind of wish I had caught my cpu being throttled before buying a new video card but at the same time.. I guess I have the option of higher resolutions now without much worry and a multimonitor setup. Later this year I'm probably going to get my display setup the way I want with and be done with it. I'm not even sure how I've managed to spend as much money as I have lol. My Crosswinds should be done this month. I"m pegged. I'm going to settle for using labels for now.
