Click "No" to discard and continue unsaved - still saves!
Snacko replied to Snacko's topic in Mission Editor Bugs
And when I exit the mission, my changes are still there as if it saved it. But it didn't save it to file? Ok, I never noticed that.. So, when it says "discard and continue", you're saying it doesn't discard your changes? It plays with your changes? I'm a bit confused.. -
I'm using the Beta, but don't see any forum for posting Beta problems. So, please move this post if it's in the wrong place. I made a change to a mission and clicked Fly. I clicked the No button. Which says "Press 'No' to discard and continue unsaved" The problem is, that it saves my changes! Even though I clicked NO.

In my mission, I checked the checkbox to load the goggles in the stowage box. See here in this pic. In your mission you do not check that checkbox? And the NVG start on your head. How do you set that up in the Mission Editor?
-
@Ramsay - Are you using the Beta or Stock? I'll try that mission, thanks. UPDATE: Hey! That mission worked exactly as you said. Just started the mission and pressed LShift+N and the goggles turned on green circle. Strange that last night I clearly had them on and down over my eyes in the External view, but not in the Cockpit view. I still don't understand that. I also had a key mapped for those keypresses on my x55 and I think I had something wrong in there too. So, I pressed the LCTRL+LSHIFT+N (Switch the Helmet Visor for NVG), and it took off the NVG and put on the visor. Then I pressed LShift+N again, and the visor goes down. Press again it goes back up. So, I loaded the mission I was testing with last night. I had added the NVG to the mission by checking that checkbox on the Flight's options tab (Home). So, it already has the NVG on the aircraft, like your mission does. But in my mission, I don't start off wearing the goggles, I have to put them on with that LCTRL+LSHIFT+N command to swap the visor for the nvg. Then they worked as in your mission. Is there some other option in the Mission Editor to have you start with them on your helmet, and not in the stowage box?

I built a mission with the NVG already loaded. I checked the box in the mission flight options to load it. You can see the NVG on my head in the pic. Sent from my Moto Z Play using Tapatalk

Yes, and I will try the stock game when I have a chance. It seems to me with this other command, that they may plan on this procedure: - Ask ground crew to load nvg into stowage(4 minutes). - Mount nvg on your head in the up position (4 minutes?) (LShift+LCtrl+N) - Toggle goggles up and visor down (LShift+N) but who knows... They haven't updated this in almost 2 months.
-
I did that several times, just as you said and it didn't work. Then I saw the command in the game called 'Switch the Helmet Visor for NVG'. So, I tried it. It also gives me the 4 minute message. But you are correct, as Chuck's guide doesn't say that. I just did a game repair, and removed all of my mods. And then, I just tried it once again exactly as you said, and I can see the goggles are on my head and down, but when I jump into the cockpit view.. nothng.. Just a normal view. PS: I should say that I am using the Beta.

Maybe I have a bug in my game. I have the ground crew load the nvg. I press LCTRL+LSHIFT+N (Switch the Helmet Visor for NVG). And that takes 4 minutes.. Then I get the message that the NVG are loaded on my helmet. Then I press LSHIFT+N (Helmet Visor/NVB Toggle). I assume that pulls them over my eyes and turns them on? But I get that message again "Loading NVG will take 4 minutes." I never get that ground, green cockpit view that I see in Chucks guide. Am I doing everything correctly? No other switches I need to set? I'm going to do a repair and try once again...

LShift +N? I pressed that and I think it said it was switching to NVG. But what should I see when it works. Sent from my Moto Z Play using Tapatalk

If I'm sitting Hot in the parking area, how can I tell if I have the NVG working? I expected everything to be green? I adjust the NVG Brightness and don't see any changes. I don't see everything green or gray. Sent from my Moto Z Play using Tapatalk

I searched the Pocket Guide for NVG and it doesn't say much, except to load them from the Ground Crew before start. I did that. I started up fully, and then Toggled NVG on, it took 4 mins. Now what? I got no NVG.. I read to turn the HUD to Night, I did that, but I don't know what that has to do with NVG?

Why does 'Create Fast Mission' spawn Airborne with NO Weapons??? I was flying the A10a. Why does 'Create Fast Mission' spawn Airborne with NO Weapons??? That's totally useless.. You waste your time loading a mission only to have to exit and do something else.. I haven't' tested all of my aircraft, but it also happens with the Harrier and SA342M.

[Official] SimShaker for Aviators
Snacko replied to f4l0's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
This sounds like a similar or same problem I reported a few weeks ago. It always starts in USB mode (not sound). I get an error message about the port being used if I select Sound. But if I first close the Sound Module, and then click on Sound, it selects it ok and loads the Sound module and all works fine. Until I exit and start SimShaker again. Because I doesn't remember my Sound selection, and always starts in USB Jetseat mode. I checked the port that was having the problem, and it was being used by the Sound Module. Maybe when we select Sound, and the Sound Module is already open, you are not closing it? Or trying to load another Sound Module? But still I don't know why it won't save my Sound Selection. Unless there is some Windows Security issue with saving settings.. -
It's working for me. But not the Set Profile to All in the Systray. So, I just made a mod for that.

If you have 2 springs on each axis, did you install them one spring inside and the other spring out? So they can't rub against each other and snap or click? Sent from my Moto Z Play using Tapatalk

I'm using the DCS Beta.. When I try to set the kneeboard's position using the SysTray icon's menu, 'Profiles/All/my profile', it does not work. I don't get any errors, it just doesn't move the kneeboard. And when I move my mouse over the SysTray icon it disappears, which means it probably crashed. Checking the Event Viewer shows it did in fact Crash. I remember that this had a bug a while back that was fixed. I'm using the latest version 1.7.0.5 Event Logs attached.

I just put both of those in yesterday and will keep them. They seem perfect but I haven't had a chance to fly yet.. Sent from my Moto Z Play using Tapatalk

Have you checked the DCS.log file for errors? I found errors in another script that stopped it from working. Sent from my Moto Z Play using Tapatalk -
I don't know how this happened, or if it has happened to anyone else.. But I was getting errors in my Export.lua file from different mods/plugins I was using. (SimShaker; VIACOM PRO; SimpleRadio) After removing them one at a time, it was narrowed down to VIACOM Pro causing the errors. The error was in the .\VIACOMPRO\VIACOMPRO.export.lua file. So, I renamed it, and another one was automatically created that was HALF the size of the one I had been using!?? Upon comparing the two files, the old one that I had been using was exactly twice the size of this new one. And I can see that all of the functions and code were in their twice! 5.42kb vs 10.5kb; 218 lines vs 436 lines. The new lua with 218 lines works without errors in the dcs.log. Very strange.. I have not had a chance to test if this is the problem with my voice recognition being sketchy, but I hope it helps..

Oops, sorry. I was thinking about Kneeboard Builder app.. It's wonky. Please disregard my previous comment. Sent from my Moto Z Play using Tapatalk

You just point it to the ../Saved Games/ folder. The app finds the correct version on it's own. Sent from my Moto Z Play using Tapatalk

Put the full version number in the update news posts??
Snacko replied to Snacko's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Thx, that helps! [emoji6] Sent from my Moto Z Play using Tapatalk -
I see there was an update to the beta today. But when I run the updater, it says that my "installed version 2.5.2.19273.411 is up to date." All the new post says today is "DCS 2.5.2 Open Beta Update 7"... So, it would be helpful to say what version that is.. Seems like a no-brainer to put the full version number in patch notes.
