Another 3 Monitor bug. These seem to happen every week now... I just spawned inside a hanger. But as you can see in the Exterior view (F2), the hanger is only visible on the Center Monitor. Also, when in the Cockpit view, the Hanger is invisible until I look behind me. And then it is only on 1 monitor, on the side I am turning to look. And when I taxied through the Hanger Door, I saw sparks. I couldn't see if it opened, but I don't think it did.

When I do a manual startup, the HUD doesn't show the engine stuff on the bottom/left, or the Nozzle Angle and other things... Is there something I am doing wrong? I am using the same checklist that I have used for months. Just haven't done a manual startup in a few weeks. Actually, nothing on the HUD changes at all when I go from NAV to VSTOL, to A/G. I have flipped the Reject switch up and down to no avail. It takes away some info(just 2-3 things) but does nothing to bring back all the missing info. And I just noticed that the Headiung tape at the top of the HUD does not move at all. It's stuck on 000 If I do an air start and am in VSTOL mode, the HUD works fine and shows all the information.

Addon Tents, Watchtower, UH-1-Cargo
Snacko replied to upuaut's topic in Static/AI Mods for DCS World
Sorry, I'm a bit confused on where to install this. Do we install all of it into the SavedGames\DCS or into the Program Files\DCS folder? Or just the Mods-Folder from this into SavedGames\DCS and the rest into the Program Files\DCS folder? I tried it all in the SavedGames\DCS and I didn't see the objects in the Mission Editor. So, I installed it into the Program Files\DCS folder, and I see objects, but most(all) are missing their textures. -
Since the last Open Beta update the sub-menus have 'all' appeared on my first (left) monitor. Not on the moniter with the UI (center). I would attach the Monitor lua file, but the forum won't let me. I get this message: "You have already attached this file in thread : [REPORTED] F10 Map broken with Custom Viewport / UIMainview Sizes"

Try this. Start dcs and load a mission. Set your view how you want. (don't do anything else!) Then press RAlt + Numpad0. Exit dcs and then start it up again and see if it saved the default view. I think if you press RAlt +Num0 it saves the default cockpit view. You have to do this first. If you go to any other views it won't work. You have to save it before looking at any other views. I've had this work. Sent from my Moto Z Play using Tapatalk -
The Crosswind Pedals have toe brakes? Why do you use the VKB lever for brakes? I'm no expert,.. barely a rookie. But here's my setup. Of course I have modified my stick to my liking. Like adding that button on the brake lever; Making the 'Master Mode' hat axis 'Abs' (not Rel) so it re-centers for my TDC. Changing the (left) other hat from axes to buttons. So, depending on how anyone had tweaked their stick, their layout may not work for you unless you do that... I also found out that you can setup that Master Mode hat from POV to act as the keyboard Numpad. Even sending Ctrl, Alt, Win, Shft keys! And also setting it so that the center button short press can be a button! So, I am thinking of making that my TDC and also my Snapview hat. And setting the button as the ground stabilize? (not sure if that will work) It's worth trying so I can use more buttons. And I'm sure I'll make changes as I learn this bird. I would also like to see other's setups/assignments.:music_whistling:

Capt Zeen F/A-18C Beta Helios Profile ! ! !
Snacko replied to Capt Zeen's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
No, it's just whatever resolution you have. It doesn't care what each one is. If you have 4k on top, and 1080 on the bottom, then the height is 3240. -
Awesome! I will check with them out. Sent from my Moto Z Play using Tapatalk

So, 3rd party updates may be included in the DCS updates, but not mentioned in the DCS notes? I did not know that! Argg.. I thought the DCS Notes were all-inclusive. So the AV-8B has been updated 4 times since it was last in the DCS notes last July! I will check the 3rd party notes every week now. Thanks for the info. Very helpful!!

I'm curious as to what these patch notes actually tell us? I made a post about all of the update notes that I saw in the AV-8B forum, that were not in the DCS update notes the past 3 months. I only got one reply. So, I don't know if those updates were in any DCS updates? (and I don't have time to test each one) Or what else is missing? I've seen fixes to other things that were not in the patch notes. So, I'm a bit confused since I have seen AV-8B update notes in the DCS update notes in the past. How does this work? What get's included/excluded? Any help is appreciated so I know if I need to watch multiple update note threads.. Thanks.

Yes, I have seen map icon bugs and game label bugs reported and fixed. But not documented in the change log. But this is just copy and paste! RAZBAM change log to DCS Beta change log. As far as I can see, the AV-8B has not been updated in 2-3 months..
-
Why does RAZBAM post updates in their Update News thread, that do not show up in the DCS Beta New thread??? Are these updates actually included in the game? What is going on here? Look at those two threads by Date. The last 3-4 RAZBAM Updates were not included in the DCS BETA Update Changelog.. Why???

That is controlled by the script for each msg in each mission. You have to edit each tutorial mission and change the time for each message. Sent from my Moto Z Play using Tapatalk

Question on using Helios to make F18 MFD's

No, I have not used it enough to experience the crash. And the crash was a rare event. But many who have had Helios crash have been unable to get it working again. I cannot say all of them were this partially saved xml setting file. But since it is saved in the folder with the images and profiles people do not think to look for program errors there, and the crash becomes very hard to diagnose since you focus on the program's install folder... where the program's settings should probably be saved. This could also be resolved if Helios were to have some error handler around the code that opens this file. I don't think it does because no error message is displayed. I was just referring to this point in the Readme. Are you saying it's a "one time inconvenience" because once we edit and save an older profile in 1.4 it should work fine in 1.4 PE and CC? This was the main thing I was concerned about when you first started this project. If so, that is good news and my concerns in my last post about having 2 Helios folders in My Documents is not an issue.
-
Great, thanks!! I got it installed, and you can have 2 installations of the program installed at the same time. So you are guaranteed your current profiles can run on the old software if needed.
-
Downloaded. Thanks. Looks like you did a lot of work! Would it be possible to store the HeliosSettings.xml in the installation folder, instead of the My Documents\Helios folder? And also save the path to the My Documents\Helios folder in that HeliosSettings.xml file? The reason I ask that is that then we could have 2 My Documents\Helios folders. One for the new profiles, and the other for the legacy profiles. And we could edit that xml file to point to the new folder. Also, this would help with a bug where Helios crashes while writing the HeliosSettings.xml, and only part of the xml get's written. Causing Helios to continue to crash on load there after. This bug is hard for users to fix because when they uninstall Helios and delete the folder, and reinstall, the corrupt file still remains. They don't think to delete their Profile folder since it's the program that is crashing, and they don't want to lose all their profiles. This caused me problems on several occasions until I noticed that file was corrupt. Just some thoughts. Thanks for your work. Cheers!
