Was that an answer directed at leafer? If you're being tongue-in-cheek, what aircraft are you referring to? (gratz on becoming an aircraft tech, btw :) )

In CoD4, I never saw much bunny hopping and that's because of my own pet peeve; sniping. I don't mind the concept of it, but when you join a game and every single person on your team is wearing a ghillie suit, that should tell you something. Sniping was by far, the dominant way of playing, especially on the modes that did not use radar. The fact that getting muliple kills would allow you to call in air strikes added to problem. Some guy could hole-up in an attic and just kill everyone who stepped into his kill zone. Then he could order an air strike on a spawn point and get a ludicrous amount of kills. Some games would last way to long because everyone just holed-up and sniped, killing the one or two shmucks trying to duke it out with SMBs and assault rifles. The thing is, this wasn't even that hard. I suck at these types of games and even I could do it. I HATE the sniper playstyle though. I'm more into using grenades and assault rifles in those types of games. Hard to do when the map is nothing but a criss-cross of enemy sniper kill zones.

I wonder about this sometimes, why you don't see much blood or gore in the FPS that are trying to be more "realistic". I'm not talking about crazy flying gibs a la Unreal or Quake, but you would think you'd see more gory dismemberment and bloody chest wounds. Violence sells.

That's too bad. Oh well, at least I'll save some money using the downloaded copy I already have. Unfortunately I burned an activation when my previous OS install was killed by conficker before I could deactivate. >.<

Greetings! After buying the download version of Black Shark when it first came out, I'm finally getting to the point where I feel I have the time and interest to fully learn how to play and try a helicopter on for size. I tried to search for this, but no dice. Can anyone tell me how the DVD version works? Is it similar to Flaming Cliffs (weekly required disk check)? I don't mind the copywrite protection but I find the Flaming Cliffs DVD's method more convinient than activations and such. I want to buy a DVD copy if it works the same way.

I'm actually looking forward to MW2. I showed up late to the party with CoD4 and felt like a chump in multiplayer since I didn't have all the hours put in for the cool perks and weapons. About CoD being a sim: I'm a bit strange when it comes to these types of games. I have very little interest in FPS like ARMA that try to be ultra-realistic. For one thing, it makes me uncomfortable having never served in any armed forces myself. Flying a fighter jet or something similar is far enough from my "reality" that I don't mind pretending that I'm a pilot. Being a Marine or Soldier in this real as dirt environment...that's different. It feels almost disrespectful and more than a little pathetic (to me, just my opinion, mind you) to pretend to do what teenage kids have done for decades and continue to do, not to mention at the price of their lives. This is just the way I feel. Now, have me bump up a bunch of ranks and put me in charge of virtual soldiers at the company level and above in a war game and it becomes more cerebral, more detached and I'll have no problems. This is why I stick with the fictitious, over-the-top, hollywood type "realistic" FPS or just play the twitch UT/Quake/Halo types. EDIT: Just want to clarify, I don't think its disrespectful or pathetic for someone to enjoy ARMA. I'm only saying that this is how I feel.

That Moon movie looks pretty cool. Good original scifi that is actual science fiction seems to be rare these days.

Duke Nukem is all but dead, actually. They pulled the plug on it about a month ago, although some state that "development" was "halted". :smilewink: Yes, PC gaming's longest running joke is now officially dead. R.I.P. As for LP...DNF still had an occasional screenshot -- hell, it even had a CG teaser promo. We get nada from LP. No problem, I can wait. I just sometimes wonder why they share so little. I can imagine some reasons, but I still wonder about their reasons

ED 1 is such a tease. Duke Nukem Forever had more to show for its "development" than their new sim. :(
-
wat Do they just want to avoid having to say "when its done" a lot? I can't tell if waiting until you're about to release something to announce it is really wise or really foolish. :ermm: Almost forgot: You're funny. :D

Interesting, thank you!

If they do another MechWarrior...they need to do it right. No more scripted missions that you plow through and then you're done. I have a real problem buying PC games these days if they're only a one-shot deal. Make it like Oblivion or Fallout 3 with a large open-ended world IMO. ;)

Maybe GG or someone can comment on this. Why is info for the F-16 so readibly available vs. other US fighters where it is not? Did someone decide years ago to let the cat out of the bag when Falcon 4.0 was created and it's just become public info since?

Final F -15 c Cockpit Mod v2 - v2.1 2009 - need help !
RedTiger replied to _Jumper_'s topic in Bugs and Problems
I want to add that the link to Jumper's first version is in this thread. I am currently using it and it really looks nice. It comes with an included sound mod. I uninstalled some of the individual sounds due to conflicts with other pits and also because the F-15 sounded just a little too much like an F-16 for my liking. If the sounds are separate from the pit in v2, I'll be a happy man. :) -
Don't get me wrong, I'm not a huge Falcon fan by any means. ;) However, the flight model is realistic in terms of being based on an actual version of the F-16's doghouse chart. You can never get "reality" so you have to pick pieces of reality to get "realism". :) Rhen, who is an actual F-15 pilot, put into perspective in a thread I recently re-read: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=38753&highlight=Rhen&page=4

Final F -15 c Cockpit Mod v2 - v2.1 2009 - need help !

Looks great jumper! I hope you keep your plan to have the sound pack separate from the cockpit. Good job! :) -
Yes, I saw the link you provided. You said it was an alpha version. I was waiting for the final version. I'll go download it and give it a try.

I haven't seen this posted around here: http://tngames.com/product_detail/3/3rd-Space-Gaming-Vest-Bundle-Black They even have a pink one for your lady friend who also happens to play video games. :smilewink: Its meant for an FPS where you can feel getting shot, but I wonder if this thing could be made to simulate G forces in flight sims.
-
I was the other way around. I prefer to NOT be a pencil-necked nancy boy virtual pilot who can't handle his Gs, so I use reduced. Not perfect by any means, but better than "realistic" IMO. So I never did not see the red out. :)
-
Hey Yoda! I can see you're at it again! ;) Have you abandoned your stand-alone TEWS upgrade for the F-15? I notice you called it "LEAVU". I was looking forward to that one. I can understand you wanting to channel your time and energy into this though, this is big. :)
-
Good catch! I do not have any red out during negative G on realistic setting either.

Russia, only one I've tried so far. Hmm...think I should try Ukraine? EDIT: Jeez...there's the problem. I tried Ukraine...the skin replaces Mirgorod. This is double suckage because not only does it not work for the Russian side, it also replaces one of my favorite camo schemes. Maybe I should try to contact Thomas. The mod is flat-out set up incorrectly. BTW, If you know how to fix it, I would appreciate it.
