@Wags Thanks for the constant updates in this matter. I believe that it must be a lot of pressure for you and the devs right now over there....the more the Game proceeds, the more it will be difficult to put out patches that don't break somethings else on another place. Although it is sad, I really understand this...so don't rush, wouldn't worth it...you´ll make it :thumbup:

hmmm...the videos on youtube dont seem to promise a quality miracle considering the price ranges....it more looks like the same crap Flight model as we know from FS Series, and simple Models...dont worth the money...well at least not my money. I think the monthly fee is to pay the servers...that's all, I rather stick with DCS, paying once for a module and having free server access nonetheless...and stablity enhancements are in progress

make sure that the router has respective ports forwarded, port: 10308. Otherwise your friends wont be able to see your host. For hosting itself, that's easy. Start DCS MP, go to options and set Network speed to LAN and set a name for your self. Create a new server, set a password and start the mission...your friends should be able to see your server then (tell them to refresh the server list if they wont see you)

I know this issue back from the good old Lock On Times, when a Mod hasn´t been installed properly or somewhat wrong. So I recommend to download a compareable mod to yours, unzip it and see how the filestructure looks like. May be this will give you an advice about what you did wrong.

Die Sache mit ED ist, daß sie eine Vision haben. Das Video war quasi die viesuelle Representation dieser Vision. Allerdings ändert sich das jeden Tag wieder aufs neue, weil einer mit einer neuen Idee daherkommt (siehe P-51 - ursprüngliches nebenprojekt eines der Entwickler und plötzlich der Auftakt einer parallelen Serie). Das hat Vor- und auch nachteile. Ein typischer Vorteil aus dieser (irgendwie schon leicht planlosen Firmenpolitik) ist z.B. CA. Das war so eigentlich nie angedacht. Irgendwann ist man auf die Idee gekommen, das ein Anteil an kontrollierbaren Bodeneinheiten das Interesse an DCS im Allgemeinen erhöht. Es würde mich nicht wundern, wenn wir irgendwann spielbare Infanterie haben, die in APC´s auf- und absitzen kann und von der UH1H aus in schwer zugänglichem Terrain abgeseilt werden kann. ED macht im Moment ganz viel für uns...um mal an Sobeks letzten post anzuknüpfen.... Da aber alles noch in der Entwicklung ist, muss man halt damit leben, daß die Produkte nun noch nicht so verfügbar sind, wie wir es gerne hätten oder das die Software an sich an einigen Stellen etwas buggy ist. Wenn ich merke, daß ich im Bezug auf ED zu ungeduldig werde, löse ich mich von DCS und konzentriere mich auf was anderes...derzeit ist es Far Cry 3 :D. Das würde ich Dir auch empfehlen...nicht Far Cry 3, aber einfach mal Abstand gewinnen von DCS...Du wirst schonh sehen, es kommen bald wieder neue updates und releases...bedenke, das nicht nur 1.2.3 vor der Tür steht, sondern auch die Huey, das full 3D 6DOF Cockpit der SU-27 aus FC3 und bestimmt etliche Änderungen und Erweiterungen in den aktuellen Produkten

Noone knows whether sevenG is actually still alive. Last updatenews were given mid 2012. It says 90% done...everones freaking out and since then...no update and no comment by the Dev Team anymore...we´ll see

I highly recommend the ED wiki, as it is full of stuff you might need. It is actually selfexplanatory...just enter the wiki and follow whatever Information you are looking for. Mittlerweile können wir ja wohl alle was zu der urpsünglich gestellten Frage sagen, oder? Ih selber habe mir Win8 sofort am erste release Tg geholt (upgrade für 30€) und habe keinerlei Probleme damit, weder bei irgendwelcher Hardware noch bei bestimmter Sotware. Dr wechsel zwischen Modern GUI (Metro gibt es ja nicht mehr) und dem Dsktop ist fliessend und stört mich keineswegs. Auch der fehlende Startbutton macht sich bei mir so gut wie gar nicht bemerkbar...bezogen auf DCS, das läuft auf Win8 sehr gut.

you need to assign the keys for the left and the right main wheel breaks to your HOTAS and instead of using the tail wheel to steer, simply use the main wheels breaks to steer and taxi...it´s a matter of practice as well...but a lot easier nonetheless

It´s official now...world will not end in 7 days...but it will end in roundabout 900.000.000 years.,..so ED has all the time of the world to finish the huey...:D
