You can change the brightness of the ehsi with the brightness/course knob. You can set the hud to night brighness of the hud control panel and use the knob to fine tune it. I do agree about the jhmcs though. The hud brightness switch does not yet also control brightness of the jhmcs making it hard to fine tune the brightness at night.
The biggest issue with me for night ops however is the brightness of the AOA indexer.
I'm guessing a 3d model for your pilot so when you're looking around in VR or with trackir you'll see your body in the seat.
I'm hoping they're not going to neglect some of the HSD/Datalink features like this and this.

Can you calm down with the complaint threads? We get it. The devs get it. The Viper is early early early access and there are bound to be countless changes to sensors and the flight model in the months to come. If you have an actual bug then report it in the bugs section and include a track file. If that bug is already reported then bump the report thread and include your track file and pertinent information. If the bug is unreported then make a new thread.
Around the carrier (on Persian Gulf at least) there is a weird visability limiting wall with nothing rendering beyond it making the horizon very harsh. Also it sometimes dips down below the horizon cutting off some of the sea.
Whatever you do don't get a "gaming chair".
Get a proper task chair that is actually adjustable like a herman miller or steelcase. They're expensive but will easily last 10-15+ years.
If you don't feel like dropping $1000 on a chair then check out the WorkPro 1000 and Alera Elusion which are both in the $200 usd range.
