  1. Nice! Just wondering about the countermeasures. In what regard does the RIO Control them? I seem to remember from "speed and angels" that the pilot pumped out a bunch of flares when they got shot at by an IR sam. Is it different on the -D?
  2. The A never got the sparrowhawk hud AFAIK.
  3. Yes https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Carl_Vinson
  4. For me it works great for the first run. But if i rearm more rockets then its f'cked up. Jumps around/misses wildly.
  5. F14D far from impossible ;)
  6. Totally agree, no need to apologize. I for one always apreciate more f14 facts and pics! The glass cockpit concept is the same in civil Aviation. For example the B737 NG is considered glass cockpit altho many of the backup instruments can be either analog or digital.
  7. Both A & B should be able to drop "dumb bombs"
  8. Firing 2 BK90s at the time with the wide spread setting makes it cover a pretty big area. And if you make the waypoint in the 15km radar range, it will be really accurate with a little practice.
  9. BK90! Make a waypoint on the targets you pick up with the radar and BOOM!
  10. We already have a supersonic A/G Aircraft! :)
  11. Yea its more commonly known as the normal axis
  12. http://aviation.stackexchange.com/questions/17291/what-are-lateral-longitudinal-and-directional-stability here you go buddy
  13. You forgot the "....." :smilewink:
  14. They enhance the vertical stability (directional), not the longitudinal.
  15. Wrong? Like i replied to skatezilla, if u can find any source at all stating thrust reversers are not more effective at high speed then please show me. If u dont know anything on the subject, dont tell people they are wrong just because you think so.
  16. When did i say a chute create a reverse movement? If u can find any sourse that states that reverse thrust is NOT much more effective at high speed, then please feel free to educate me.
  17. Not true Much like drag chutes, thrust reversers are much more effective at high speeds, partially because of greater engine power but mostly because of the higher airspeed difference between the relative airflow and the engine output.
  18. T1 gives u the crosshair, TV sets the position, T0 resets it
  19. New front cockpit with multifunction displays, new rear cockpit with new displays, new AN/APG-71 radar based on the F15E radar, lots of new digital buses, its got a new very much improved HUD, new datalink, built in jammer, IRST + more. So its pretty different. Really want it tho ^^
  20. Those blades will be spinning so fast they will look just like a grey blur.
  21. Cool thanks :)
  22. If u dont have any indication of where the TGP is looking then how do you align for a GBU drop?
  23. GBU 12 = 230 kg x 12 =2760 kg 300 gallon tank ~ 1100 kg x 2 = 2200 kg + LITENING, 208 kg = 2408 kg + whatever ordnance If 2 tanks, TGP and some ordnance is normal then I dont see how 12 gbu 12 would be impossible from the carrier.
  24. Really? http://forum.largescaleplanes.com/index.php?showtopic=26731 Im reading up to 12 gbu 12s or 12 cluster bombs. So i think u can kill just a few more targets than 2-3. Btw, Will it have NVGs?
  25. Im pretty sure its still gona keep sweeping back regardless of what you set the handle to.
