Page 27 of the manual describes the PFLD. Only information from Pilot Fault List (PFL) are displayed there

The carrier going 20+ knots, plus wind...landing on the deck would be like jumping from a vehicle going 30+ miles per hour from 20 feet high (the chute have a high descend rate). So ditching in the water and trying to land the aircraft on a carrier will likely hurt or kill the pilot and both will definitely destroy the F-16. Rather than doing either land on a carrier or ditch( ditch meaning to me flying the aircraft until it hits the water), I would eject in a control manner near a rescue force ( what ever that might be).

It should be fine once INS is completed in DCS. Alignment status 10 is the actual max reach during normal alignment in RL, to get align status 6 you would need to complete and Enhance Interrupted Alignment and this would take 12 to 16 minutes. Alignment status 10 should be good enough for even GPS guided weapons once INS is finish and JDAM is introduced in DCS.

Check you user CP on top of the page, there should be an option to either keep send PM of delete them. So on the top of this page, press User CP, on the left side look for edit options, on that page you should see Save a copy of sent messages in my Sent Items folder by default check mark that

I don't know if ED acknowledge it. I do not see it as a bug. How many people go online and set up their Mode 1, 2, 3 or 4? It should show us as a hostile if we don't have the right code. Is it accurately portrait right now in open beta versions 2.5.5.41962? I do not know, but it makes since to me if players do not have the right codes, they shouldl show as boggy/unknown/hostile. If another aircraft in you network can't id as friendly, it make since they show as hostile. AFAIK, that is the hole purpose of the IFF and NCTR.

The emergency brake lever does not engage the brakes. It just switches from one hydraulic system to the other for brake operation. You still need to press the key you have assign to brakes.

It is a single compression stage, single spool, centrifugal flow small jet engine use to start the F-16. How does it start the engine? short answer It starts it through the Accessory Drive Gearbox (ADG). Long winded answer This won't be a complete account, since there are a lot of variation on the JFS system. For example, in the late 1990 the JFS was normally change every 500 flight hours, by 2012 this was change to over 1500 hours, proving the reliability changes on the system.

No I enter them but I do not think you need to in DCS I don't have link but there are many videos in youtube Is in the early access manual, starts on page 54

If you press the DCS up or down it will do that , you need to move to the left, where it labeled and RTN.
-
ditching in the water and attempting to land on the carrier should have the same results in RL and hopefully DCS.
-
Press RTN on the DCS switch. Is the center switch on the bottom of the ICP. Look in the early access manual, starting in page 42, Upfront controls (UFC)

Like I PM Geraki, I can't find no reference nor mention of nadir nor zenith. Are they called anything else? Looks like we need to trust ED to have to proper information. I'm sure if they find it or enough people complain about it they will change it.
-
1-165 to 166 talks about FCR symbols, nothing about HUD symbols
-
So we agree you don't have the proper reference. I guess we need to trust Eagle Dynamics.
-
That does not help unless the video can be proven to be from a USAF F-16C block 50 circa 2007 Why would you need a link? I thought you and Geraki knew this to be accurate, so you guys had first hand experience or correct documentation right?
-
So you basing this in a 1992 paper? The -34 explains everything about the HUD. What each window will show, why and when. You don't have a page number and paragraph number for that? The paper states that: "there is no plan to make the HUD a primary flight reference" but when you look at the current training manuals ( which have no releasability restriction and can be downloaded from E-publisihing, the USAF website) it mentions the HUD as a primary reference. That how outdated this paper is. A operational F-16 was not even use for this study, they made a sim from a salvage F-16. The document you provided, has little to nothing to do with a USAF F-16C block 50 circa 2007.
-
The video you provided is of a block 30, You can tell because it has analog flight controls and GE engine RPM gauge. It has a different engine than our DCS F-16 (F110-GE- 100 compared to F110-GE-129). Additionally, since I can't see the tail number, it could have a small intake ( which affects the sound) Also, as you mention, there are other sound in the background that render this video not very useful as a source or example. The "clanking" noise is normally due to the fact that the blades need a certain amount of "freedom", they should be able to mode to some degree. Briefly talk about it here video is set to 4:19, just hit play
-
What page number and paragraph number does it mention those symbols on the manuals? You can't post a link nor copy and paste the info, but you can tell me page number and para. I have never hear nor seen anything regarding this in the USAF F-16 manuals circa 2007 and beyond

Tail Hook not deploying on the Viper...
mvsgas replied to everest101's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
If you want the tail hook to land a F-16 on a carrier, then there is absolutely no point and less need since this is something the F-16 can't do and there is no point for further conversation. -
I thought that the DCS P-51 and its engine performance was based on an actual aircraft. Miss Velma from the Fighter Collection.
