This is looking very good ! Thank you for sharing you work in progress with us. ! I am having a having a lot of fun flying the Gazelle and this new weaponry will add more options to enjoy. Thank you. :D

Took her for a spin. Fist time I am flying a helicopter in a sim since Blackshark first version (years ago). I can't describe how much I am enjoying the Gazelle (Elle est superbe !) right now, even if I am a noob pilote. :D She is very touchy so be gentle with her and she'll give you a hell of a show ! :D And the Nevada map is gorgeous by the way ! :D

Unofficial VFR ground textures for Caucasus map debriefings in Tacview
Teldja replied to Vyrtuoz's topic in Community News
This is looking nice, thank you ! -
It is good to know that you and your relatives are safe ! Take whatever time you need to recover from such a terrible natural disaster.

Oh yes, because as much as I have enjoyed flying the Hurricane in IL2-CoD, I would much prefer fly a Spitfire to take down those pesky bombers ! :D
-
Yes, that would be wonderful ! The more aircraft, the better ! And I hope it will be possible to (re)create historical campagne and to include and exclude aircraft. Because, this way it will always be possible to get the best immersive experience possible if some of us want that (that would be awesome). Thank you for sharing your knowledge, I read many article on Wikipedia but English is not my mother language and I got lost too many time in it. Looks like the Spitfire was used not only to shoot at things but also to gather intel ! I wish we could take some photo in a recon mission (operate a camera from WWII era) and bring the intel back to the base. :) Yes, I think I can understand what Krupi is trying to say regarding the Spitfire performance chart in the context of a pure competitive multiplayer experience (not sure about the 1944 context). Still we will get two Spitfire so will be able to choose the more suitable aircraft to complete the objective we want. :D And having fun is the primary objective for me. ;)

Well, thank you all for your replies. I had no idea it was a sensitive topic. Wasn't aware about the history behind DCS WWII Europe 1944 project since I am new around here. So, we are getting two Spitfire, MKIX and MKIV, and neither of them were (correct me if I am wrong) used at the same time and place during WWII ? What missions were assigned to each MKIX and MKIV back then ? Do we know what kind of aircraft were involved in 1944 over Europe on both side ? (I think it is kind of a smart move to release aircraft not already available in others simulators, like IL2 - CoD, BoS and BoM, if it is what is intended of course, otherwise it doesn't bother me at all). Again, I am just being curious. I will be happy to fly new Warbirds in the context of WWII (maps, technology) regardless of their "performances" as long as their are accurate :D

Don't get me wrong, I feel the same. I am already spending a lot of time flying the Spitfire in IL2-Cliffs of Dover (solo and multi) just because I love her so much (and the scenery too), even if I can't hit a thing with it (I suck in dogfight). I was just trying to understand what was the fuss about these two Spitfire variant vs the 109k and the Dora. I can't wait to take her for a spin over Normandy somewhere, between Dieppe and Rouen, and say to my wife: "Look honey, this farm looks like the original one your oncle have inherited from your grand mother !" :D

Looks like it would be wise to wait and buy the VEAO's spitfire XIV if one want to get a chance to make a stand against the Doras and the Kurfürsts... Or am I missing the point ? Maybe, theses two different versions of the Spitfire won't be used to do the same job in DCS ? Genuine question as I am no expert at all regarding Warbirds roles within the same "family".

Hey guys, I am wondering if you also get struck down by the ECM bug as well as us who fly with the M2000C over the Caucasus map (1.5.3.xxx)... Or does that mean that bug has been fixed for 2.xxxx?

Caucasus Map Texture DLC by Starway
Teldja replied to Starway's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
WoW ! The reworked ground and building textures are looking very good, too bad airport are not included. But I think I'll rather keep my money to buy a completely new map or a new module than this for now. The price tag for such an optional cosmetic modification is a bit too high for my liking, but that is just my opinion. I am eagerly waiting for the merge and see how Eagle Dynamic will improve the Caucasus map, first. -
Very good news ! Thank you for keeping us posted. Much appreciated. :)

Thanks for the stream. I enjoyed it. Can't wait to fly the Gazelle :)

I am wondering if Rouen will be on the Normandy map or not. And if yes, will her most famous (historical) buildings be rendered as well ?
-
Oh my... Can't wait to fly that beautiful bird over Normandy :D
-
Thank you for that sneak peek :D Can't wait to fly over the Normandy from 1944, that would be a change from Normandy 1940-41 in IL2 - Cliffs of Dover :D
-
Skynet 2.0 looks really nice ! Can't wait to test it :)

Thanks for sharing, was interesting to watch. J'aimerais bien faire des duels avec vous les gars (I've got so much to learn)

Yeah, it makes a world of difference, now that we can finally know who is a friend and who is a foe. No more "friendly fire" ! Keep up the good work guys :)

Bonjour !
