  1. @ Maverick Is there a "new" logic with T90´s presently (apart from more units present on red side)? They seem far mor aggressive and engaging from far out...hard times in a Gazelle - never been shot down so many times?
  2. The Ka50 has no seats to carry troops, same with Gazelle. They don´t want to hang outside on your stores. So it´s no bug but intended (Maverick answered that question earlier) not like this....https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x6qHcd4imKk EWR seems to give more information to AI AWACS but does not improve GCI´s eye (see posts above by Shadoga); GCI is online if a) someone wants to play this role and b) has the time to do so. Guess there´s no time line for that position though. You have to apply for GCI (see first page of thread) if you want to fulfil this role. The problem with the jumping Mi8 is on blue side in a Huey slot as well...forgot which one...maybe due to uneven ground structure.
  3. Did you try MSAA x8 and AF x16? Is your system capable of running this setting? Better results then?
  4. I gonna tell you as soon as I am back in DCS...real life keeps me busy but certainly today (Fri) I´ll have a lot of spare time past 3pm Zulu - still have the issue that you don´t hear it well from pilots perspective (you feel the shudder of the helo though) - helmet on/off doesn´t really matter. Gunners perspective is working well. It´s hard to determine what is real life behaviour as all the vids on youtube I know are recorded from the rear (and obviously the recording microfone wears no helmet :smilewink:). The Huey´s interior sounds are very loud IRL without a helmet so with ear protection it might be more or less no "volume" of the minigun to be heard in front seats when the doorgunner fires. Maybe a "real" pilot is reading this post and chimes in....?? DCS also seem to mask the sound with the engine noise. But anyways....I will check an come back to you. Willy EDIT: already done :-) =================================================================================== minigunL-dry-fire.sdef gain = 6.3 minigunL_fire.sdef gain = 40 minigun_fire.IN.sdef gain = 52 Same for the respective entries with minigunR This setting - at least with my system setup - seems to be more accurate to what I found on the web combined with the very loud Huey sounds in the Mod (which I like very much indeed). Other entries need no tuning. You may start with this values and if you think that they are still too low in volume just increase them (suggest to go +2 for the dryfire entries and +10 for fire and fire.IN for testing. The M60 seems to sound fairly accurate (compare the linked vid). My general sound volume ingame is 100% each, modulated with my headset resp. sound output of my hardware. If you´d like to have a comparison: first 2 minutes seem to be recorded what I suppose to hear with ear protection....but thats personal taste :-))). If you continue to watch the video you´ll see that the sound volume of both guns differs with the angle of recording (= your position in relation to barrel). Let me know what you think
  5. Puh....tough stuff...so no FFB stick. I really get out of ideas man. So I just publish again my settings and maybe you´ll try that again for a test. First recalibrate again your stick with it´s own calibration software, then... 1. FFB option OFF in MISC SETTINGS 2. FFB sliders (STICK PITCH/ROLL) to 0 in SPECIAL SETTINGS 3. X and Y AXIS only assigned to the joystick, any other entries for these controls deleted (if present) 4. for both AXIS set DEADZONE to around 5% 5. for both AXIS (X and Y-AXIS) set Y-SATURATION to 60% Set DEADZONE and SATURATION only in DCS, dont use any Saitek software to do so (had many troubles in the past with microsoft sidewinder stick when using their own software to set parameters apart calibrating) Follow Holton´s advice No2 (had this issue once in 1.5.8). If no success try again CLEANUP then REPAIR (to do so a handy program to manage your DCS is Skatezilla´s utility https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=160053 super easy to use As we both have non-FFB sticks we should get similiar results, the guys having no issues don´t have any miracle software bought from polyC - If you know a friend who has a different joystick, ask if you can get it for a test, plug it in and try with different stick to make sure your Saitek hardware is not borked. I keep my fingers crossed - and please dont give up...you gonna solve the issue
  6. Thats the way it has to go.... As the "joining request" seems to be inop it would be nice if the potential Commander would ask via TS or SRS PRIOR to entering left seat. It´s kinda frustrating flying to the AO and THEN realizing that someone joined left and quit short before reaching the target area...because then you are done....as you (the pilot) can not handle left seat on your own anymore and you´ll have to restart again (had it 3 times in a row and therafter rage quit by me  - and this beeing 49 yrs old  ). Anyways....everybody is welcome to join my left seat with proper comms (SRS Ch30) set up and asking....would be fun.
  7. @AtomMrav, thank you for the effort to make a video. I watched it several times. As I said before I do not experience this behaviour and I guess thats because I do not have FFB stick but spring centered (with a minimal deadzone to compensate for erratic stick inputs - either by me or by my hardware). It seems that the "goin and going" is caused by your FFB (you are using one , right?). This maybe due to calibration, motor movement of stick or something like that. As borchi/sephyrius said, SAS compensates -using magnetic brake or not - has no influence as long as SAS is working. So the only thing to look at is - beside your setting/Config/Hardware - an interference with implemented FFB logic...but that´s a thing borchi is the one to look into (or test with FFB sticks - if not already done).
  8. Thanks Moltar for the quick reply. The "loop" will be haard to determine I guess, it´s just a minor glitch. The minigun sound was easy to fix with your useful tips. Highly appreciated. Willy
  9. Captured airfields get EWR upgrade by transport a/c (IL76 and C17). The EWR´s we place with helicopters should be in a strategic position towards the enemy position (somewhere uphill with a good coverage) to enhance GCI´s situational awareness. Currently they are invisible (bug). Ppl often delete markers to clean their F10 map without recognizing that the cleared markers also disappear for other players.
  10. Never been there - did not know that there are no friendly troops (really?) to secure the FARP. But anyhow: ask Maverick if he might change that. The fact that it can´t be captured does not mean that the enemy is not "allowed" to place troops nearby to bother you. Solution: Zemo needs at least some AA (in case it´s not secured) to make it harder to come so close.
  11. Moltar, I tried latest V14 with the Huey and have two findings: 1: there seems to be a loop tone in the engine sound in the background, no idea where it came from 2. Minigun is - to my opinion way to low in sound (helmet on/off does not affect that; M60 is fine. Is there any way to adjust the sound volume of the minigun? 00:45 or 05:10 Would be awsome. And thanks again for the compilation - using it every time with pleasure Cheers Willy Otherwise you´d not hear your doorgunners fire.
  12. HiJack, I feel your pain but...."sucker"??? I´d rather say cudos to the guy who managed to get there with a Huey without getting shut down. What about flying up to Zemo with a Mi8 and/or SU25 to snipe the enemy troops? Just my 2cts
  13. @AtomMrav....thanks man, that would be nice as I can not reproduce that behaviour with my non-FFB stick (Warthog)
  14. Allright, this time NO trimming at first, NO Magnetic brake. Stable take-off, forward flight, only few tick adjustments to maintain straight or turn. Definitely NO tendency to pitch violently or roll over - even in hard banked turns. ## I must sound odd to you - but I have still no issues. Flying around currently on 104th MP Longbow and really have to throw it around. Sorry man. But question: if trimming brings stable flight for you - why woud you try to fly without Magnetic brake and trim?? The EC135 guys always use trim to ease flight....
  15. Ok I tried it again. Gazelle in straight flight (say 200km/hrs), SAS on, Autopilot not engaged, pushed MAGNETIC BRAKE for straight flight. If I then pitch down (with my stick) and do not re-trim (not with MAGNETIC BRAKE nor with TRIM HAT) it accellerates and levels off at straight level as before. No "out of control" behaviour, wobbeling etc. I litterally can trim her to the attitude I desire (climb, straight, descent) using MAGNETIC BRAKE first and fine tuning with TRIM HAT after. Are you guys sure that your trim is working correct or that it is set up the right way? We had a lot of confusion with trimming (and the use of Magentic brake vs trim hat).
  16. :pilotfly:Esac...it seems we are the only ones that see no difference in between 2.5 and real world speed perception. I took the F5 and buzzed around the valleys with 550-600 kts - on my laptop running the mentioned F15 video side by side....and...burn me.....I see no difference. But did you realize the microstutter in the F15 video on youtube????? This is no real life video, this is a preview of DCS 3.0 :smilewink: For my trees feel alright and when I look outside right now (forrest just a few hundre meters away) I can see A LOT of 100ft spruces, A LOT really...well almost all there are this hight.
  17. Morning Dagger, yes Moltars Mod package works flawlessly in 2.5 - I am using it. Devrims Mods for Gazelle works for me as well (using Deferred shading on) with very minor issues in texturing/lighting in overhead. But no showstopper. And of course it does not stop DCS from loading if that is your case. You selected the cockpit in game settings after applying the mod with JSGME (or similiar?) Gazelle Devrim Gray Cockpit Mod https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/de/files/2020785/
  18. Are you guys with issues all have FFB-Sticks? maybe thats the point? My Warthog set does not feature FFB and has a spring tension to center (which is not how sticks in a real helicopter work to admit). Maybe that´s the point we I can fly without that described wobbling or roll over and you can´t. As I have no experience with FFB sticks: what happens if you disable FFB completely (yes I know thats not what you want) but just for a test. I guess the FFB stick with disabled FFB-function does not stay in center position (due to lack of center spring?) - am I right? And that may cause the instability you experience. Then of course we have to talk to PolyC about the implementation of FFB in their PFM....there may be some inconsistencies that make it almost impossible for FFB users to keep her straight. But that´s just a wild guess. @AtomMrav: accepted - and believe me - I know your pain
  19. Sephyrius, please at least try a 3-4% deadzone on x and y axis on your stick, to be set ingame! I am with that able to fly it hands-off without AP but SAS channels on
  20. AtomMrav, sorry that you got my post wrong...maybe a language barrier between us two (I am no native english speaker as well). You rage kept you from reading my full post I guess: 1. I never meant you beacause you were ASKING for help and did not blame the Devs, right? 2. I posted my personal solution to the twitches I experienced with the Gazelle 3. My opinion on what is going on in internet forums, and even here The people not having issues with the Gazelle have the SAME piece of software bought from Polychop as all those having problems, right? so my conclusion: it is not the FM, it´s on client side (set-up, hardware, joystick) as it was with my "issues" in the past. BTW: if you follow the discussion in "game performance" section concerning 2.5. you´ll get what I mean....it´s always developpers bug and never a problem with system specs or set-up :-)))) Have a fine weeekend Willy (aka Troll? :-))
  21. Maybe it´s frustrating for you when I make the following statement: I fly the Gazelle in 2.5 (and before) with my Warthog Hotas & throttle without issues. X and Y axis on my stick are without any curve, BUT I figured that they need a 3% deadzone each on my system. Same for my Saitek rudders (calibratin did not solve the issue, it´s my hardware). After applying that I am able to fly the bird WITHOUT any input from the stick straight on in normal flight conditions. Almost like with autopilot. If there´s wind in the mission of course you have to compensate for drift. As I stated in one of my earlier posts I had a long conversation with actual EC 135 pilots about the fenestron and they confirmed that the huge fenestron will compensate almost all need for input while in normal forward flight. Another story is the effect of the fenestron in steep turns...or if you drop the collective too aggressive (but just wait for the BO105 and you´ll surprised like hell how fast you can kill yourself in a turn - btw the mentioned EC135 guys all hat 10000+ hrs on Bo105 PAH German Army) I use the "sim mode " (not the arcade/easy one) and have no swithces flipped off concerning the SAS. She´s such a joy in 2.5 as light attack helicopter - after a long time of training you can throw her around like a charm - I promise So...now....I fly her as described....am I the only one who has no issues? Certainly not. Is it then a "problem" of the PFM (as someone doubts that the Gazelle has one - and quite accurate to my opinion). No - for sure it is not. Gentlemen, I am a little bit tired to read posts that simply blame the devs for something not beeing right. Start FIRST searching on your side, then blame others (if you wish) or better start a conversation or ask.. But that seems to be the way of communication in the web nowadays. Or maybe I am too old for such kind of "conversation" - who knows. Anyways again: I HAVE NO ISSUES - believe it or not. Happy flying Willy
  22. @ BManxx: would you mind having a look into the mod again with Caucasus 2.5?......it seems that wind direction depicted in standard briefing is now correct and not reversed 180 degrees as it was before (at least when looking at windsocks, chimney smoke etc). Would be cool if you´d update that so we can use it with correct wind data. Highly appreciated!!
  23. Caucasus 2.5 If second player joins left seat (commander´s seat) and leaves to whatever reason then, original player (1. pilot) is not able to access left seat anymore which makes it almost impossibel to continue with mission. repair at FARPS does not cure this, only hopping into new helicopter. Maybe you want to have a look at that.
  24. Reading a lot of forum posts about trees (their hight, the felt speed while flying abouve them, detailed analysis)....did I miss anything??? We did not only get free Caucasus update 2.5 but DCF (Digital Caucasus Forestry simulator) ??? It seems that 2.5 has not enough bugs and probs as we spent so much time of discussing this stuff instead of joining MP and have some fun... just my 2cts. I flew all days in Huey and Gazelle on 104th Longbow and NEVER had the feeling of "wrong speed" if you go 200km/h at 1o mtrs above ground and dive in and out the clearings to sneak in. Ok, keep on with this dicussion it is fun :-))))))
  25. No...check it yourself...it´s about how many trees per square. Interesting though: anything above ~ 87% has no effect on number of trees (at least I could not see it). About the cheating: ok...if someone needs cheating instead of having a beautiful rendered scene...welcome kid. If ED would set a fixed number of trees it will cause a lot of people not beeing able to play the game due to their computer limits. Trees do not much about FPS on state of the art machines...but no everyone can afford that. Guess we will have to live with that.
