Jojo....did not change them since 1.5.7.....what did you assign ...trim left/right in main settings of M2000? Will check..
-
I am a little confused after the lastest implementations. Before on Caucasus (hope it´s remembered correct) I engaged AP master plus ALT hold and then was able to change HDG with the TRIM left/right...now it seems that this function is gone or am I missing something.... = me Help appreciated...

Update Open Beta 1.5.8 KA 50 autostart corrupted?
docWilly replied to docWilly's topic in Bugs and Problems
Thanks Isegrim, already started to "learn" it. Under normal circumstances it´s like this: My trainee starts the helicopter for me while I - a highly decorated and famoous KA 50 contractor have a chat and a smoke with the crew chiefs. It´s only the trainee beeing a bit sad that the boss has to start on it´s own :-) Thanks anyway and especially for the arguement with the weather conditions. BTW...like your custom sounds - gues you are THE Isegrim :-) -
Tested on different servers after updating to 1.5.8 but autostart fails with "Main transmission oil pressure" alert - manual start per cheklist works without issue. Maybe someone has a solution for that or I am missing something after the update.

It may not help you but I do not have this issue. Flying on 2.1 causes longer loading time (but never 5 mins) but 1.5.7 is fine.

M0ltar, just want to drop by and say "THANK YOU FOR YOUR COMPILATION" Latest V12 - I use JSGME and love it - easy to use and definitely worth getting it though someones mileage my vary....some like a sharper hud some the softer (realistic) one, some prefer more BRRRRT, some the ones you use. Overall - highly recommended. Willy

got it....we are still 1.5.7.x :-)

I assume that the changes made it into the yesterdays update as the vibration of the cockpit in cold/dark is gone (1.5.). The chnagelog states: - Changed the ART/VIS/VHF/DOP selector function when in DOP position Now in DOP position the vertical and horizontal bars of the main horizon will show respectively the lateral and longitudinal speeds of the helicopter. This function may be used to ease hovering when the bars are centered the speeds are close to 0 DOP gave/gives me the vertical deviation to a selected waypoint on the main horizon. Situation: pick up Gazelle, forward flight, slow down but no "centering of horizontal/vertical bar appears to indicate that I am close to speed 0. What did I get wrong or miss? Any help appreciated. Willy

Trim an magnetic brake worke fine here (2.1 and 1.5), at least for nose up/down. What I don´t get to work in a matter I would expect to act is "lateral" trim (yaw): trim indicator on control panel moves, helicopter reacts first but then returns back to original attitude (control panel indicator still shows left/right trim). Level flight is fine (using magnetic brake plus trim), IGE/OGE is present not only in my imagination. I believe that the FM is going in the right direction (just guts feeling, no RL experience)

no HUGE update today (180MB) but the Gazelle changes made it into this release  You can easily check if you are up to date: hover right skid low, skid cushion on touch down etc. Enjoy.

Through The Inferno (Dynamic DCS) - Public US Server
docWilly replied to deadlyfishes's topic in Multiplayer
Today we had a strange event on 1.5.7: Blue players attacked by blue Avenger on airbase Senaki - the killed players report that the avanger was "flying".....kill confirmed in chat. Maybe you want to look into that. No admin was online nor was anyone in CA (of course). -
On Normandy - if you prefer to fly post WWII aircraft there are only few servers and not every time online: 78th freeflight and training (switches with Nevada every couple of hours), Aerobatics online (many have issues to connect to on Normandy - and so do I:furious:) and sometimes a third one which I do not remember. Too few MP Players online there to have fun - at least if you live in Europe. The rest is WWII servers (about 8 or so - some of the pw-protected) I can not comment on because I do not own props. My personal recommendation: if you are not a WWII guy wait for Strait of Hormuz to spend your money though Normandy is eye candy. I wish´d there where more servers with helicopter OPS as Normandy is a totally different party with all that trees, alleys, bushes and requires a more tactical approach to helo flying than actual Caucasus. About performance: if your system is approx like mine...no issues (if you dont max out every slider)

You are not alone. For me their 1.5.7 server is unavailable, 2.1 works.

@ FragBum Man I do have to apologize.....it took me soo long to get whats your point. I did not realize that you used anti-torque in your short videos. You are definitely right about the "stable into hover feature" which is not to be seen on - for example EC135 (have real life experience as I am medical doc and for this "in touch" with the rescue helicopter) nor on other light helos like the Guimbal Cabri G2 (featuring a fenestron as well). I put in two video links - relevant is only the first minute or so - where the helicopter picks up. SA341 Guimbal Cabri G2 We clearly see that a fair amount of counter-action on the stick is necessary to lift (unfortunately the SA341 translates very fast into forward flight without stick inputs). With the Gazelle in DCS you just lift straight, hands off and after short time you will, have to correct your attitude (due to slight roll left, effect of rudder or while picking up speed) @Smokin Hole: now I got you!!. Confirmed: trimming stick left/right does not lead to any change in rotor tilt on take-off hover and therefore no roll-over. ONLY when you push the stick MANUALLY left/right and try to get into a hover it ends in skid-over roll. That is clearly not a IRL behaviour. Sorry gents that I missed your points. Have a fine sunday Willy

@FragBum: what I see in both of your vids is totally different to what I have in 2.1 and 1.5 (latest versions): 1. for me it´s impossible to take off straight without anti-torque pedals: it would start to spin to the left as expected. 2. on hover take-off I always have a intended roll to the left (slowly raised collective or ripping it off the ground - whatever you like) as expected I have no modified curves or saturation (which would not matter at all if I had that), I have a perfectly centered WARTHOG HOTAS set and I fly with "realistic mode" not "easy controls" (to be set in main menue). I come to the point that there´s some issue on your side within settings and not within the FM. I wish we could go through this on teamspeak or so some day.
-
@borchi: unfortunately I am no video maker. I just referred to the post by Smokin Hole, his tests said that there´s no roll and that the controls re-centered despite trimming. My results are totally opposite: roll to the left on hover take off is always present (and always to the left) if you don´t raise the colletive too aggressiv, there´s no "real" roll-over tendency (over skids) due to lack of ground friction (I guess). You roll over if you push the cyclic unrealisticly hard left or right manually (not with trim). Controls did not self-re-centering (like Smokin Hole´s) = my trimming keeps them where I put them including the modelled stick in the Gazelle. Maybe that´s also a different finding than the original post by FragBum (centric nature...). The only questionable thing is (and the test itself is completely OFF anything a pilot would do IRL apart test pilots during internal tests :-)))): if I trim the stick totally to the right - then not touching it anymore....would there be a left roll on hover takeoff (conditions like in Smokin Hole´s Test) or would it be compensated (partially or totally) by trimming. I´d assume a compensation but I am no helicopter pilot (only fixed wing IRL). The lack of ground friction (skids) is a different story and I believe it hard to be coded as autorotation landings on surface will be affected too (leading to a hard stop when touching the ground, right?). Many DCS modules have an "issue" with ground friction compared to RL planes. But I am fine with that and even here we have improvements compared to earlier FM versions. I am one of the customers completely satisfied with the way the updates go. For me it feels right and maybe you remember my post about the interview I had with a EC135 pilot (former Army Bo105 jockey) about the effects of the fenestron in hover, slow and fast forward flight. Thus I believe Gazelle´s FM going in the right direction. Thanks for listening to our discusions :-)

Nor is it elswhere - at least on my side.

You are talking of Normandy? Yes, same experience and I have no clue how to eliminate them. Seems that my machine does not like settings to be set in NVIDIA control panel instead of ingame filtering - so I will have to stick with the ingame graphic settings. On 1.5.7 I get it occasionally but not with the severity like in Normandy.
-
My findings are different. TESTED on 1.5.7 (latest release). Conditions: gyro, all AP channels OFF, make only use of FORCE TRIM in phase 2. 1. hands off into hover, only correction by rudder input: helicopter rolls to the left ! (check this behaviour while SLOWLY raising collective, not ripping the helo off the ground - then I get a minor roll to left) 2. Cyclic fully to the left then FORCE TRIM: control indicator indicates cyclic "arrested" fully left, modelled cyclic moves to the left and stays right there! Take off into hover.....rolling left. 3. same but deflected fully right: helicopter still rolls left on takeoff hover Conclusion: Roll to the left is present and aggravated by pulling the collective (as expected) but I expected an influence of trimming the cyclic left or right and that clearly does not happen though control panel and modelled stick show the trim (L/R). The helo is not rolling over skids as it looses ground friction (due to height) before that occurs -not like IRL Using HOTAS WARTHOG, before testing checked if everything was centered. And of course the physical position of the HOTAS stick does not reflect the position of the ingame stick in Gazelle´s cockpit but I am perfectly fine with it. It seems just to be a matter of "training" or muscle memory.

Same here - but only in latest 1.5.7. and ONLY with the F5 module. All other modues are working fine in outsideview. There´s no way to bind camera views to mouse (no entry possible). I guess we should post it in "bugs".

including what is named in update 06/10/2017? Maybe it´s due to me not beeing a natve english speaker.... "The 1.5.7 update reflects what is in the changelog on 16-17/10/2017" does that mean only what is named in that particular update or what is listed "below" as well (incremental)...that would inlcude a lot more = FM is updated finally.

Gents, I updated Caucasus release to 1.5.7.10872 and took the Gazelle for a short spin just for testing. I would say the NTTR FM physics seem to be implemented into 1.5.7 latest release....right? Anyone to confirm that?
-
Are you really talking about 2.1 latest release (and patched FM)???? Did exactly what you described (all OFF, no rudder, all centered and checked) with totally different results: 1. as you pick up speed (above 69km/h) direction changes to the right (or straightens out if you like) (because airflow over tail comes into effect - expected) 2. when you lower collective helicopter rolls to right, nose down then changes direction to the right 3. when you raise collective opposite to #2 4. never-ever hands-off possible with all channels OFF below 69 km/h, after picking speed above that margin, hands off for a short while possible (stabilization of tail). Condition: standard atmosphere, no winds, 50% fuel, no weapons.

Very pleased with the change in 2.1 of the FM - thank you.

Sorry man...no ideas why....I spent a lot of time on the BlueFlag Nevada MP server yesterday and had no issues with the Tiger. I know it´s very wild guessing but you may try to come to BlueFlag and re-test. If it fails.....get DCS-logs and ask ED/Belsimtek. I don´t get why MP is the problem for you and SP is just fine.
