  1. My 2 cents: I´d enforce SRS use otherwise beeing kicked. BF is all about cooperation but coop does not work well without communication. There were times where alsmost everyone was on SRS. And please.....no...the ingame chat is not suitable for proper communication. Now beat me for that statement :-)
  2. I have no idea about mission building...but by any chance are the soldiers set to invincible in mission editor (like we can do with AWACS etc)?
  3. Ah...we start again.... Ok....question: how did you manage to keep VSI = 0 in the turn while pulling G´s? If you pull 1G no speed increase of course nor decrease, if you pull more than that speed decreases (like IRL). And it´s very hard to keep VSI at 0 - never gained speed apart when the helicopter was in a turning descent. You are able to fly a steep (sustained) turn without loosing altitude?? I am not - as the controls are too sensitive to maintain VSI = 0 for a longer period while in a steep turn (>30 degrees). And of course if you want to maintain altitude you have to pull at the stick, thus G´s.
  4. Fully loaded M model at gross weight in NTTR: max speed 500 AGL at Nellis 190 km/h, empty, 50% fuel 210 km/h. I think this is fairly correct. In Alt.hold mode while playing with the collective speed decreases and increases as intended. Max possible speed with load of course will not be higher than ~ 190 km/h
  5. Gentlemen, as I recieved a pm from Rene Coulon I´d like to answer here in the forum for all having this issues. First - ED stated that they are aware of this - so no worries that this will be solved. As there are several versions of DCS available (Open Alpha Nevada, Open Beta Caucasus and Release Version Caucasus) I´d like to tell you that I am running a) latest updates = DCS 2.2.0.12843.297 Update 1 (Nevada) and DCS 1.5.8.12823 Update 1 (Caucasus). If you are running different versions I suggest to update or revert to this specific versions. It´s worth a try. In general I prefer running the "open" versions as updates hit first and I see no advantage to wait for "stable" or "release" versions. Never had any major issues doing so. I run the PC for gaming without any Anti-Virus Device (just to be sure), you may want to exclude DCS.exe from your antivirus programs if you wish. Check twice if it is definitely excluded!! (or disable ALL Antivirus devices at least for a test. Don´t forget it´s not only i.e. Norton, Avast etc but Windows Defender if you run it. I guess everyone has done: clean, repair and opened your ports as descibed by ED (https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/support/faq/681/) and your versions are up to date. Right? Please test if you have absolutely no mods running and no remaining mod files in your root folder (left-overs)....they can be found with the clean-up process. I nothing helps I suggest to revert back to for example Caucasus 1.5.8 latest Open Beta (that process is fairly easy to perform and described in this link: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=114030 . I am no PC guru and even I was able to do so several times. Checked Caucasus 1.5.8.12823 Update 1 right now: no issues, MP servers all shown and able to connect. Around hundred players connected on different servers at 15.40 Zulu. Checked Nevada DCS 2.2.0.12843.297 Update 1 right now: no issues, MP servers all shown and able to connect. Same result at 15.50 Zulu - all MP servers shown and players in. I feel your pain but as many of us are able to connect it must be something in your way of connecting, setup, WLAN, ports, Antivirus etc. Maybe opening a admin ticket with dcs.log can sort this out. I am running out of ideas, sorry.

Another way to kill S 15 is: create a markpoint (several youtube tutorials about that available) with it´s position from far out, then dive low below it´s line of sight (hide behind ridges, towns etc) once you are close enough like 6-7 NM pop up, make the markpoint your SPI, lock and you mostly will kill it with one MAV as there´s not enough time for the TOR to get your MAV. Done several times.
  7. Ground crew replies that they got your request (= ok) but they only will perform that when engines are spooled down (as Dagger said). Works the same with other modules.
  8. Solty, I got your point but let me ask a question: Why would someone do that? To fake his statistics and getting rewarded by James Mattis or POTUS himself? (sorry). I am a 49 year old" hard core simmer" and really don´t care about statistics - that is to my opinion a bit childish isn´t it? You may if you wish but thats your way then - I don´t judge it. If you colour DCS in a total unrealistic way where´s the fun....? Gone of course. But that´s not 104th point. They - as the server admin/Owner - WANT THEIR (!!) server with custom terrain mod (which is no cheating by any way if you ever flew with it you´ll know). So why is ED deciding that 104th is not allowed to use terrain mods? Or does ED reward users for their statistics? Mustang is totally correct with his statements and if someone is in fear that flying on 104th may ruin his/her statitics because they use custom terrain...well...he/she may fly on a different server. Just my 2 cents. All a Merry christmas and hopefully 2.5 soon :smilewink:
  9. Well we had this dicussion for a while - you remember. But ED never moved in that direction (you know this odd cheating stuff :-) ). All statements were: this is cheating...and....2.5 is imminent. I desperately miss your texture set.
  10. Sorry...missed that. Of course only "self viewing". on Dec 24 I will be available most of the time (GMT-1), feel free to make an appointment with me to test it. We could test it with a Huey (as I do not have Mi-8).
  11. Statement by Wags: "DCS World 2.5 will be released as a new download (NOT an update to an existing version). In other words, DCS World 2.5 will replace DCS World 1.5 Stable. The current 1.5.8 Open Beta will be updated to be DCS World 2.5 Open Beta. As such DCS 2.5 Stable and DCS 2.5 Open Beta will be available at the same time. DCS 2.1 Open Alpha will be removed, and DCS World 1.5 will remain but be unsupported. Modules under DCS World 2.x will not need to be re-downloaded or activated. Just do not uninstall DCS World 2.2 Open Alpha prior to installing DCS World 2.5 Stable, as 2.5 will copy the modules over from 2.2. Any files in your Users/Saved Games folder will not be affected. Pilots statistics from DCS World 2.x will be carried over to DCS World 2.5. Movement of DCS World 2.5 would then soon follow to Steam." Hope this helps to answer your question.

  14. Oh no man....that is different from server to server. Every server has differnt mission and tasks (given in the briefing after jou join the airframe you wish). If you are looking for "campain style" there´s Blueflag or Dynamic Caucasus for example, if you look for A/A and A/G there´s famous 104th. Just check it out and ...please....install Teamspeak, Simple Radio or discord (if used) and COMMUNICATE. Many don´t and that makes teamplay almost impossible. ANd it´s more fun to talk to each other. There are many more out there...just check it out.
  15. Hmm I am on 1.5.8 Open Beta and do not experience this (had it in earlier times). Happens on FARP or on airport. With me that happened on FARP with earlier releases
  16. On one MP server I realized that normal starting procedures did not work as expected (engine spooling but no indication on gauges nor rotor movement). Weather set to winter with -10 deg Celsius and a slight wind crosswind. After asking for ground power start-up wa normal...BUT when asking the groundcrew to disconnect GPU I get no reply and nobody´s disconnecting the GPU (maybe they all went away to have a cup of coffee?). Honestly... I have no clue if something broken (bug) or if I missed a step. The indication EXT PWR stys lit (unable to cancel the "warning") but you can take off without groundcrew complaining. Doors open, communication to ground crew, radio on etc. Anyone else this experience or an idea what is wrong with that? Thx Willy

Confirmed on 1.5.8 OB but ONLY if you don´t switch between servers, i.e. you checked out "104th" then leave it and decide to fly on "Through the Inferno" - my test: you fire up DCS, choose the server you want to stay with, then follow Mustang´s procedures - microstutter is gone, FPS smooth. Thanks for the work-around :thumbup:

Since Hotfix from Dec 15th in open beta I experience as well a) drop in frame rate (no major issue though) and - more frustrating b) severe and continuous stuttering which makes it almost unplayable for me. The more Harriers, the more stutters.....my wild guess as I tested a couple of MP servers with variable number of players. No issue on 2.2 so far (but the harrier fix is not in there :-) )
  21. Just flew it for the first time after 2.2 update and to me it feels different to 1.5.8 (ufo-glider). I did no real "tests" with charts/numbers by the book but my guts say it´s "ok". Not sure what you mean with "all it´s flaws"? :cry:

  24. "issue" solved. Thanks for the input that nothing has changed. In my settings there are 4 possible entries TRIM left TRIM right TRIM rudder left TRIM rudder right Mine were assigned to the last two named. That was the culprit. Assigned to the first everything works as intended. Intersting: if I assign my HOTAS to - for example - TRIM left it shows "Trim rudder left" only in the pop-up window not in the primary line. That got me confused. Anyway....happy flying. Thanks Willy
