1. Thanks IronMIke, completely share your opinions published by you in this thread. MP server host should have the possibility to decide what they want to restrict in IC. I am a Mustang`s texture user since ever and the comparison with the stock 1.5.7 terrain I had to go back to due to this restriction is simply annoying. I am mostly flying low and slow for mud moving and all the mentioned texture mods are definitely not cheating in any way I can assure you. In certain areas it´s even harder to spot ground targets as the background is more to real life. Using better terrain textures for immersion is a MUST for me. For all those ppl whining about the "cheating"....please gentlemen compare the available texture mods to the stock terrain (including the ability to spot targets with the TGP/FLIR/Shkval devices) and then come back. It´s simply not true and the present IC restriction kill´s immersion. Thats it.
2. Art-J....please read posts above. At least two of us checked in with Mustangs 12th July on a IC protected server. At first (before joining) you get the "green thumbs up" and you are happy but after logging in to IC protected MP server it turns to red and says you are "tained". So at present it seems that on multiplayer (IC on) we are not able to use terrain mods. And it goes even further: if you stick with or revert back to 1.5.6 you don´t see anymore servers that are upgraded to 1.5.7. That did not happen in the past. To me it seems that preventing the use of terrain mods is of "high priority" to ED and I really do not know whats the policy behind....but some will know. I feel more than frustrated right now as I really do not appreciate the stock terrain in 1.5.7. I can not agree with this ridiculous "cheating" argument. Simulation is about immersion...and well....thats gone for now if you are a low and slow flyer.
3. Mustang, sad to report that after following the installation instructions for 12th July terrain DCS 1.5.7 still comes up with "tainted" only unmodified game allowed when connecting to a IC restricted MP server.
4. I´d agree with you if this IC policy would come into effect at a point ED is capable of providing a far better texturing of Caucasus terrain and other "improvements" (like collidable trees etc). For now it´s a step back as I really do not want to fly with stock terrain as it´s far beyond Mustang´s terrain or the other´s we well know. I am a "mustang user" and if you ever did you litterally can´t go back to stock terrain :( Let´s hope the best that "terrain mods will be redundant" at a point because ED´s quality reaches Mustang-Level  For me it´s 1.5.6 for a while.
5. "Unfortunately" I already reverted back to 1.5.6 for this reason (you pm´d me...answer is in the box) so I am presently unable to provide you with this information. I recommend that everyone who whants to stick with your or the "other" fantastic terrain mods not to upgrade to 1.5.7.
6. Anyone same issue.....? Latest Mustang land textures not longer "compatible" with Caucasus 1.5.7.....fails to pass integrity check..... (applies to other land texture modders as well like Barthek, Starways etc)
7. And once again...after relase of Caucasus 1.5.7 CDU briefing mod leads DCS to hang with 10% on loading screen. If you are willing to have a look into that issue....functionality of this awsome mod is sadly missed .... :-)
8. Just to report: latest Mustang textures not "compatible" with latest build Caucasus 1.5.7.....failed integrity check - so on all servers with integrity check on...no joy.
9. Good to hear. So I tried to activate it using JSGME but no joy. Shkval still w/o colour. The threads concerning this mod are a bit outdated and I assume that the culprit is a different folder structure in the latest build of 1.5 beta. Do you use it with latest Caucasus Beta and with JSGME or did you copy it directly into the correspondent folders (which I do not prefer because they get erased with every update? Hope it´s not an issue with Devrim´s Blue cockpit.... if you have any ideas let me know. EDIT - issue solved: as I am using Devrim´s Blue cockpit the 4 files for the shkval mod have to be copied into Devrim´s KA 50 cockpit folder by overwriting the old files there (and not elsewhere in DCS). As Devrim´s Blue CP is already a mod there´s no need to put the Toby thingy itself into JSGME. Same with dirty windows if someone likes that (but it´s a sign of good airmanship to clean windows before flight - makes detecting oncoming missiles a lot easier). Checked, worked, no issues and MP integrity check positive :-)))) And by the the way....the far most realistic sound mod in my opinion (works easy with JSGME) is Isegrim´s..... https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=93588 Never again fly without
10. Bazarog...don´t worry about posting here. I agree with you on the annoying teamkills but be sure: during times an admin is online and acts as player, traffic control or magic things run smooth on the server. During other times...well massacre and autokicks. I started to fly the Shark recently because I believed it to be hard to master - with regard to the avionics ABRIS/PVI (flew Huey, Gazelle and fixed stuff for quite a time now). But I must say....within a couple of days you are ready for action, still learning ABRIS though. So don´t hesitate to go online anytime your buddy is not available. The server is worth doing so... And get your simple radio stuff working!!! Maybe we meet some day there....would love to fly as team and take stuff out and improve our skills
11. Jafferson I definitely do agree. Personally I use Devrim´s blue variant based on Ricardo. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/1766778/ Not tried the shkval mod....guess it does not pass integrity check?
12. Hi Balzarog, I am not sure what you are asking for as this is the tread for online multiplayer. Just to make sure: if you prefer to play online with others you do not need the mission file (.miz) to place anywhere on your computer. Just join multiplayer in DCS and select the server with "Through the Inferno" and choose your slot/aircraft and follow the instructions in the briefing. If you - on the other hand - prefer to play solo or want to HOST this mission from your PC you will have to place the .miz-file into "YourUserName"/saved games/DCSopenbeta/missions After that go to the DCS World Sim, at the right menu click on MISSION then My Missions/ click and fly or host your own server (which makes no sense to me because flying together with others is much more fun (if they don´t teamkill and are dumba$$ kids of course :-) ) Helpful? Cheers Willy
13. Feedback highly appreciated, thanks for looking into that stuff. For sure....you gonna see me on the server :-) Have a fine weekend!
14. IL78 tanker speed First, let me say thank you for that particular server, love to fly there. Most of the time you meet highly professional people there....a/c side and as Georgia traffic /Magic. Some thoughts: IL78: the tanker cruises at around 170 kt indicated, thats a little slow for the Mirage as you are at the edge of the envelope when fully loaded, if you miss the point you´ll have to go full burner to accellerate and there´s a good chance to overshoot then at the basket. Maybe you could set it to (200-)230 kts? Scramble scenario: Yet not sure when it´s triggered...random or by an "action"/amount of aircraft in game? If you are low on players there´s Senaki almost R.I.P.... Enemy forces attacking Senaki: any hint where they are coming from....they are there, instantly and at first unknown location until they start shredding Senaki - same with the enemy aircraft. Suggestion: INTEL on a rough position of ground forces and enemy bombers/fighters at greater distance (40 miles?) so you have a chance t get airborne before they are over the base. Apart that small things....good work, keep it coming. And if there´s a good reason for the scenario as it is I will accept it and have fun :-) Thank you Willy
15. There´s no way to acitvate it while DCS is already running. Activate/deactivate BEFORE starting DCS with JSGME tool (matter of sconds). Keep in mind if you play multiplayer that it may be an issue of connecting in case the host has integrity check activated.
16. Thanks for the video. Unable to reproduce on my side. Now you may say my controls are the cause... I don´t think so because with all other modules I own (Huey, M2000, A10C) they work straight out. Once again, I have no idea why my experience with the Gaz is so different to others concerning those "special" flight attitudes. I keep DCS beta up to date, no FM tuning on my side, use the hardware in my sig, and fly it with "easy mode" unchecked in DCS main menue and some slight curves in controls that fit my "feeling". Thats it. Nevertheless....thanks for the vid...impressive flying :-))))
17. Well...all I can say is that I load asymetric (2 HOT on one side), take off with a fair amount of antitorque pedal (as the heli turns counter clockwise on takeoff as usual), straighten it out in forward flight and then it starts rolling to the sinde of the load...slowly (within say 5 sec) but it does. The strange thing for me is that from the very beginning I had different findings than many people about the FM. I do nothing special than flying :-)
18. I did some posts on my experience with the FM in the past. I ´ve seen videos of DCS Gazelle flying upside-down, hovering upside-down, no response to asymetric load. I have to state again: on my system, re-tested again on latest Beta release.... a) asymetric load leads the helicopter to roll in the direction of the load (expected) b) unable to fly upside-down. Helicopter tends to dive then spirals out of control. Expected. Unfortunately I am not a video maker nor do I have the time to do so. I have no clue what you are doing on your side nor how you set up your system that this behaviour is possible. Do you use an old and early FM to prove it´s wrong? Do you use "easy controls" checked in main DCS menue? Whatever I do I can not reproduce what some people show in their videos. All I can say is such unrealistic flight attitudes are not present on my system. Conclusion for me: I am finished with this discussion, the Gazelle works well within it´s limitations, I am more or less satisfied - at least it does not spoil my simulation experience and I am looking forward to future improvements. I say this as "happy" customer and real life fixed wing (ok guys...yes different to helicopter flying) pilot with 12 yrs of flight experience (which at least means I have some idea about flight physics) and 12 yrs as medical doc on UH1-D (SAR German Aiforce, Ltg 61). As said before....there´s room for improvement on the actual FM but it´s not crap or total desaster. Just my 2 cents Willy
19. The marks on F10 map are only displayed to your own team, i.e. if you fly Blue vs Red in multiplayer.....only YOUR team can see the marks. I do not know any way to make it visible to you only.
20. You´ll just have to type in/copy: openconflictserver.typefrag.com where you tried to put in the IP before in TS. It "decryptes" this to an IP (in the background) and establishes the connection. Hope that helps.
21. To me it seems that the blade flapping sound (while the edges going transsonic in a tight turn for example) seems to be reduced...anyone else this "feeling"? I loved the clearly audible blade sound....
22. Just a guess.....did you try to click the little red knob just right of your throttles once before new engine start?
23. and last not least.....if you don´t have it yet....a HOTAS is very helpful to map keystrokes to it...makes life much easier than flying then trying to hit combo-keystrokes in an evasive maneuver for example. I know...question of money...but certainly a good investment.
24. M2K is not prone to cross wind anymore since they patched it. Your issue is something else: NWS lock? Setting of your rudder pedals (calibration, spikes?), curves in the ingame setting? I do not have any issues with the mirage since the fix.
