  1. Anyone have any issue getting SRS to work with the F5? I have no issues with F14, F18, Mirage but the F5 seems to key the radio and locks it on. I have no mic clicks etc once this happens. Any thoughts? cheers
  2. We have two slots available for North American time zones. These slots are for the Hornet. You're expected to participate in most of the scheduled wing flights Wednesday and Saturday @9pm eastern, and expected to complete our training program within 60 days. Please visit us at https://forum.vcaw1.com/ and introduce yourself in our recruitment thread stating your flight sim background. We expect participation. If you can't commit to participate there are many other wings available to chose from, but CVW1 would not be for you. We are a ramp to ramp wing and use NATOPs procedure with slight variations to accommodate the sim. You can participate in combat flights while undergoing training. You will fly with an experienced lead. We typically field 8-10 pilots for our scheduled flights flying both the Hornet and Tomcat. If you are experienced you'll advance through our training program quickly; some folks finish it in as little as two weeks while others take the full 60 days. cheers
  3. This is great news! I've been watching the S because I tend to stick with products I have or have used. I'm a current Rift user and after reading your review will definitely be upgrading to the S because it is from someone actually flying DCS. Very good news, and thanks for the review and upcoming VR improvements!! cheers
  4. Just curious how accurate they are. I dropped two (33) today to test and both were approximately 1/2 mile away from their intended targets. I'm setting up a wing flight tonight and don't want to listen to guys complain the JADAMs are not working right. Also, notice the TACAN and NAV range is not appearing on the HUD. Is this an introduced bug?
  5. I've had no success either. I am trying to have client aircraft immortal inside of a trigger for A2A training and mortal outside of the trigger zone. It doesn't work as far as I can determine. The manual state AI aircraft so perhaps it doesn't work with clients.
  6. Does the hornet use those sounds or are they generic? cheers
  7. Are there sound files for when the hornet touches down? I've looked through the sound files but don't see any. I'd like to change the touch down sound. The stress sound is good and can be easily changed. cheers
  8. This is awesome news!
  9. Lights off doesn't really do much with today's technology. None the less, yes it is a combat sim but it can also be a non-combat sim. Make it an option to have them on or off would be the best solution.
  10. Not sure, but I'd be selling it if it is really good. These folks need to make money to stay in business.
  11. +1 and improve the body movement similar to the F14.
  12. Good race!
  13. No, I tested it and there is too much ground friction.
  14. Yes, I agree.
  15. The F14's movement on the ground or carrier seems sticky. It feels like the brakes are always partially on. I would "think" it should taxi easier than it does with a little less need for power.
  16. Many of my modules are not appearing after updating to the latest hotfix. I tried to log the issue on the DCS site but it kept asking for a file, so I attached a picture and then it kept saying file size too large. There must be an easier way to report a simple problem.
  17. Anyone know where the touch down and stress sounds files and sdef are located? I find the F18 does not have enough audible inputs to the vpilot based on videos I've watched, or is it simply because it is still in beta? I'm working on modifying certain sounds. cheers
  18. This issue needs addressed. Its been an issue for too long and very frustrating for wings that do not use the in game ATC system.
  19. Sounds good. Look us up on our forum https://forum.vcaw1.com/
  20. If you're flying out of an airfield that close to the front sure they'd be off, but in DCS not all flights are combat flights and not all bases are close to the front. In general, it is not realistic.
  21. We do not use the in game ATC because its not good. We make our own calls via SRS. In addition, it is not realistic to have to call every time. Controlled airports are lit up like a Christmas tree, so it is very unrealistic and really dumb as it exists in DCS. Its a probably a simple thing for them to fix and it'd be nice to see some of these issue fixed because its been this way far too long.
  22. So you are a real pilot? I don't think so. It is not realistic to have to call ATC to have the light activated all the time.
  23. Can you please active the airport lights at night. Its so unrealistic that all of these big airports are dark as a stormy sky, and it is a simple thing that ED can fix. Getting really tired of calling ATC to active lights.
  24. We have openings for new pilots since we've removed a few and many have completed our training program. We are looking for 4 vpilots who fly open beta F18. We are experimenting with the F14 so that platform is also available to fly. 2 European time zone and 2 North American time zone. We are also looking for up to 3 dedicated RIOs. You must have some flight experience and you must have your technical issues sorted. You must be able to fly a minimum of 2 times per week. You must be able to complete our training program in 60 days; extensions are granted on an individual bases. We have two dedicated servers running; one combat and one for training, 3 IPs for the Hornet, and a good balance with hardcore and fun. You must be at least 20 years old, speak English, use SRS, and own Open Beta, F18, Persian Gulf, TiR or VR. If you're interested contact us on our forum https://forum.vcaw1.com/ under "Introductions and Recruitment".
  25. This seems like its a bug. The engine exhaust always seems like it is at 100% or so. If you taxi and apply throttle the exhaust doesn't change. Thanks
