  1. Yep can confirm a10a is also broken in that regard. Yep FC3 planes pretty much have instant gear failure. Meanwhile other planes react different depending on speed and crater parameters.
  2. Video encoding, upload thereafter hope it should be up within the next hour. And unless I am in a different universe my statements pretty much hold up.
  3. What speed was that mi8 moving at ? If it was above 80, yee ofc. If anything has a greater velocity then the one needed for the doppler shift relative to the scanning plane to be bigger then the filter threshhold, yes, glorious full detection range pretty much. As said I have detected mi8 at full steam from 30nm in glorious lookdown from 45 000ft. Yep, REDFOR definitely should get more ! :)
  4. The only thing the radar cares about is the doppler shift. And the doppler shift is never going to be bigger then the threshhold if your GS is below the speed which would induce a doppler shift, which surpasses the threshhold for doppler filtering. So the statements are equal. Since the doppler filtering in DCS eats everything below 80kph pretty much. Well if you fly slower then 80kph, good luck, no radar contact in look down. [still unlimited in look up though. I try to use that but usually flying lower then helicopter through valleys and stuff is kinda bad/unsafe ;D.] Do I really have to make a video to illustrate that ? It seems I have to. Standby for getting rekt by numbers and physixxxx. Or me singing a nice song for ED that they fixed their radar model and Helos are detected at any speed and me having writen a lot of outdated rubbish. One of them both. ;DD
  5. ehehe ;D only half way true
  6. Yeah. Thats what I am saying all the time. If a helicopter is in the notch he wont be on radar as a fighter would be in DCS. IRST doesnt suffer from this. Thats all I said. :D But people said nonono IRST worse then Radar at spotting helos in DCS. :D AFAIK you wont be able to spot a helo moving at full steam on IRST at the ranges radar can. I spoted MI8s in transit from like 20-30 miles from 45 000ft. The only thing I am saying here IRST doesnt suffer from notch in look down, which is an huge advantage if you search better then average helo pilots. Because better then average helo pilots know that and use that. Again, ask reaper, he did it all the time. I dont get you people. Just waiting for viggen and hopping at 15km range scale one can spot helos. RB05 helo hunting will be surpreme. I am really tempted to create some redfor memez right now. :D
  7. Ka50. Just have one flying in a straight line over the water, spawn fighter 90 degrees angle off and fly higher then the helo.
  8. yep 100% sure. Tested it multiple times with different bomb craters. All the planes somehow react to the craters F15 and su27 do not. I bug reported it more then a month ago to ED. For example someone called in a b1b and it carpet bombed maykop after we captured it two huge craters on the runway. F15 which was with me in the air during the bombing, lands, goes over craters, 0 problem. Micro tries to land at the edge of the crater because he knows that mirage gear will break, gear still broke. x).
  9. Mirage uses standard ED radar model. RVE training more then 2 months ago, did terrain mask and go sub 80 for the last few KM. 4 f15s tried to find me on radar. No success. And Map contacts were on so they did know where to search. It was testing/training combo thingy. Either your testing was flawed or something has really changed. Reaper said one of the most important things is having the patience to get there safely and that most people in blueflag do not have the patience. :D
  10. Look down range for detection against a KA50 from a mirage, ka50 slower then 80kph relative, roughly 3km. Look up pretty much full detection range. Against EWR with GCI similar results in terms of detection range if slower then notch speed. Which doesnt make all to much sense but well, thats how it is. Testing was done less then 4 weeks ago. When reaper was playing it was the same. Hovering helicopter practically not spotable if in look down. Thing is, it should be no problem at all detecting a helo with rotating blades thanks to doppler shift. But Again DCS radar model only incorporates object relative speed for some nonsense reason. Pretty flawed.

F15 and Su27 takes 0 Damage when going over runway craters. Literally 0, no bump, nothing. I will do testing in a controlled enviroment at some point hopefully, I hope that can bring some light in here. Since I am really barely staying up and I am getting a feeling that there is something fishy happening if people have higher RTT then the rest. Dunno. Numbers will tell. One does not have enough data to effectively compile into a neutral opinion. Usually at least.
  12. Okay I play DCS since february, since then it does matter at least. Speed VERY much influences if something is on radar or not. Which is wrong, it should not be like that, as long as rotors are spinning. But hey its DCS and its ED and su27s and f15 still go over cratered runway as if it was as smooth as, I dunno, mirror for a telescope.
  13. Hovering ones ? Or below 80kph in general ?
  14. Me just wants some FARPs doubleworking as road bases when the Viggen comes. :pilotfly:
  15. Nope isnt. Dunno, when RVE was on red, red magically got more players. I have no Idea what to think anymore about this. Simply feels like the average player on any side which is in the disadvantage is like a little girl and says "No not gonna join this is so unfair ". While the average player on the side beeing in an advantage is like "lets join buddyspike server, dis is gonna be good". And please I said ANY side. Do not start assuming I only mean red or only blue. :P
  16. Viggen hype has to much drift, needs fix.

I wont quote Einstein on whos fault it is if some explanation gets misunderstood.
  18. do you see the ***km on the right. Aircraft has no range at that moment. If that is right or wrong is up for discussion, for TAS. RS should give you an calc no matter wat, if within bank limits.

I am getting a really strong feeling something with the netcode is just wrong. A lot of people are reporting terrible DM state, a lot of people say its fine. Thing is I would do testing. But people are immune to numbers nowadays so I can just scratch that Idea right away. RIP.
  20. Hmmm, yeee maybee all choppers, trainers, the Tiger and the Fishbed should get 8. Would encourage people to do more in those frames I guess. Well, last round was the same and RED roflstomped blue. I honestly think the numbers are more up to publicity and other random things. At least I am getting the feel after 4 rounds and a ton of testing I took part in. Someone gets the upper hand and the other side stops joining. Who gets the initial upper hand is down who gets more people due to randomness or better organized push. Anything which makes things less roflstompy again is a good thing imho.
  21. Yeah I meant the Gazelle not the KA50, I didnt anywhere state that I meant the Ka50. That thing also doesnt get 8 lives atm. :P :D The Gazelle had 4 in the beginning and that was perfectly fine, I have no Idea why it got more features AND more lives.

  23. I mean we did talk about Viggen Training in Mirage before and while there is a technical possibility to rearm/refuel at FARPs, it didnt work that time. But it definitely shows the liability of operation from in the middle of nowhere roadbases in DCS. :D
  24. Yee in the state it is atm it imho should have 4. Its too stronk for 8. If it didnt have cargo and troops I would say more is fine but with all the things in one frame, 4 seems legit to me.
  25. Really noice !! So 10 rows with 5 and 10 rows with 6 dents ? That still leaves us with 73gram EFPs, which still gives it 84% of the muzzle energy of a 2a42 which should still be sufficient to penetrate anything which isnt a MBT within 100m. But distribution should be better since the dents are "firing" the EFPs with 18degrees between them and not 23 like with my expected 16. Funny bit is I did calculate two sets of 10, but didnt believe it and did go with the pessimistic 16. :DD might update the graphic at some point. I would say that is definitely good news, since its still enough to take out anything dangerous to yourself like SPAAG and SAMs and that probably even out of 100m, while increasing the density. RIP DCS engine though 2640 EFPs per BK90 now so 10560 EFP per Viggen load. Ehehehe. :D
