Same here !

Following setup: Airstart 100m ASL mach 0.55 start speed, two rbs15, two RB74, Xtank. Fuel gage shows 126% Time in full zon3: 11:15 Takeoff from runway, same flight parameters after takeoff, same load. Fuel gage shows 135%+ time in full zon3: 13:20: Takeoff from parking hot, same flight parameters after takeoff, same load. Fuel gage shows 135%+ Time in full zon3: 13:35 Takeoff from parking cold, same flight parameters after takeoff, same load. Fuel gage shows 126% Time in full zon3 11:10 On start from the ground I put the throttle into zon3 from the moment I was ligned up with the takeoff way. My hypothesis is that if any hot start options like takeoff from parking hot or takeoff from runway, the aircraft has the internal plus twice the external fuel available. I have no other explanation for the extensively prolonged zon3 time.

Best clonk ever, we need that !

I just thought you mixed up load factor and DPS in the OP. The weight doesnt play as much into the performance here, its more engine power vs the huge induced drag. What can you sustain full dry btw ?

RB04 does less damage than RB15. Is that correct?
microvax replied to hideki2's topic in Bugs and Problems
Something I noticed testing against the grisha, with the RB04 the damage texture is as it is afaik supposed to. With the RBS15 the damage texture sits right at the waterline. I guess DCS ship damage model simply isnt up to the task of representing the different effects to be expected. -

microvax replied to hideki2's topic in Bugs and Problems
Difference here mainly is RBS15 penetrated the target and explodes inside. RB04 is downward focussed shaped charge, since at the time of designing the rb04 sidearmor still was a thing. So dunno, makes sense to me that 200kg of 1990s warhead inside a ship deal bigger damage then 1960/70s 300kg warhead exploding over a ship. Even with the same weight class I would expect a 1990s warhead to do more damage then a 60s/70s one. -
The ja37 from the dokumentation thread can sustain 2g turn up to 3km altitude on max dry. So I dont know if 1.5 qualifies for cant even. the RM8B gets roughly 15% more thrust with full AB, knowing the main difference is an additional compressor stage, most of the added thrust should come from there. So terrible laymans guestimation bullshit is the AJS probably cant sustain more then 1.8G on full dry. Maybee even 1.7G. And thats with full air to air and X-Tank. And BTW the charts are not engine limited load factor, but DPS turn rate. So Even by that chart mach 0.3 on SL with a load factor of 2 gets roughly 8DPS, which cant even be sustained at SL. So yeah, should be tested what can actually be sustained. anything around 1.5 sounds pretty believable looking at those charts. The thing which is more definitely off are the stores parasite drags.

Weird thing i notices though, If you set your AC to start in the air in the Mission editor the fuel gauge doesnt start at 135... But something like 132 and starts going down instantly. Just checked my fuel tests. Full zon3 on internal is roughly 9 minutes, with external tank that is 11. So seems to match with the +25% fuel. I think something with the gauge is off.
-
The needle stays indeed for quite some time at 135%, but iirc the 11minutes of zon3 I get out of it X-Tank and internal at SL are correct with the X-Tank. Could be mixing up burner times with the mirage here though.

Operation "Blue Flag" - 24/7 PvP Campaign - ROUND 9
microvax replied to gregzagk's topic in Multiplayer
I mean the Viggen has all Airfields stored already anyway. No need to add waypoints for that. For FARPs, dunno most are close enough to cities with corresponding reference points already. No need for any additional waypoints imho. -
Eldur meant dry, and I can confirm that. If you try to takeoff with dry performance the tires blow up before you can lift.

RB04 does less damage than RB15. Is that correct?
microvax replied to hideki2's topic in Bugs and Problems
YES RBS15 has 0 problem with that. ATM its really a problem that series launch makes the missiles blow up each other. IRL that would be no problem for the rbs15 since delayed action fuze and for the RB04 neither since its an downwardfacing shaped charge. #DCSdamagemodelissues my solution is simply fire never in series mode, unless multi target -
ARAK long range mode constantly falls long.
microvax replied to microvax's topic in Bugs and Problems
Below the 3 degrees needed for triangulation ranging for sure. Also got wings indicating "firing range and paramters for rockets are met". :) -
The bomb spacing setting doesnt seem to make a difference in RR release modes. Also in RR ANF in B-scope no range line is drawn and in PPI the cross doesnt seem to match up with the designating position.
-
QFE set Radar ranging disabled motion tracking disabled release mode impuls Still the rockets constantly fall long by a lot.
-
Had the same problem, also not all waypoints are initialized with preceeding waypoints coordinates, if they havent been initialized themselves.

Autothrottle regulator not working correctly in aoa mode
microvax replied to illern's topic in Bugs and Problems
Can confirm this happens on a new viggen on a fresh start of DCS. -
how much did the missiles turn from the original launch heading of the aircraft ? ATM they self destruct once they turn more then 90 degrees. it should simply not launch over 135degrees total turn but thats a known bug.

Not working atm: Target approach 10m Symptom: Missile allways sea skimms Boundary for area search. Symptom: Missile still goes for the closer target in single target mode, even while that is like 3km outside the boundary. Altitude after bx6: symptom missile allways goes 10m over water multiple target a: Symptom missiles turn 90degrees away after probable target aquisition Bearing search: Missile still goes for the closest target to the bx8, even while that is 10 degrees furter away from its flightpath then the target straight ahead. Course change: Missile self destructs after 90 degrees of turn, even on terminal. Address 84 cant be tested properly, since the area sizes arent known. But I suppose they do not work, since the corresponding search altitudes of 10, 15 and 30m cant be observed. The missile allways searches at 10m.

** AJS-37 Changelog / Update Master List **
microvax replied to Cobra847's topic in DCS: AJS37 Viggen
Thrustreverser toggle, like one binding switching between armed and not armed, like with gear, would be surpreme ! -
In the Manual it is stated, that search altitude will be 10, 15 or 30 meters, depending on the search setting. I literally tried all search settings and all lead to 30m search altitude. Which parameter combo does give 10m search altitude ? Also it doesnt seaskim after descent point, even if ordered so.

Can't get ships course/speed in SPA/SKU mode.
microvax replied to Sgt_Cyanide's topic in Bugs and Problems
No same Issue here. Cant get tracks displayed, also with a S type destination selected no fix preparation is shown [range and bearing from self] like in mal. Also cant clear any reconaissance targets by pressing rensa. -
I completely agree here, 70 chaff is way to low, with 70 chaff nobody is going to lay chaff corridors like the BOZ100 series of pod is capable off. It is probably not as high as the standard BOZ100, but the ballpark of 70kg of chaff is probably correct considering the weight of the pods and they are based on the same origin. Unless each chaff packet is 1KG that doesnt really mix well. :D

Yee, Mav told me the same already. :D Tbh I am kinda glad myself that it didnt work out as intended, in the end, since it was not aligned with the intentions of the event. While I get that its obvious for people like you guys, playing DCS like since forevar, that such a rule is likely in place, for me it simply wasnt, due to me not having the experience in theese events simply. :D I am playing DCS since late feburary 2016 and first touched Multiplayer in Blueflag R6 in May 2016. GM3 was pretty much the only event I did observe from start to finish, missing the beginning of GM2. I guess I got heavily influenced by striking before hostile CAP even is a thing or even can react in the target area in Blueflag and the early strike on GM3. So yeah greenhorn lack of experience and no brief about it => AIM120s in cockpit. :D @turborush: Ah yee. Get what you mean. :) Happy to improve on that though, now that I halfway know what to expect ! :)
