  2. yeah, was considered a "symbolic price", germany could have had the entire GDR hind fleet [54] but it was decided to sell them very cheap as well, since they were all waiting for the eurocopter Tiger. Such a meme, since that thing didnt make it into service for the next roughly 20 years.
  3. Germany did maintain a mig29 squadron with the planes left over in the GDR after USSR collapse, they were sold to poland in 2003 for 1 euro per plane iirc. And IASGATG, in 13 out of 14 times i got hit in my mirage in blueflag the only thing left to do was eject. One time I "only" took heavy damage and was barely able to make it home. I really think the days of utterly broken mirage dm are over. Mig29 though is still tanky. xD
  4. Low level high speed bombing with 16x 120kg proximity fuzed retarded bombs intensifies. And nice that there are heat rockets. I mean, 4 mavericks will be allways better in terms of taking out bunkers etc. But rockets and unguided bombs are simply fun to use. :D
  5. Ahh now I get what you mean. Yeah by "real" standard its a daft Idea. :lol: Was more of a campaign feature comparing to the style of, Units respawning out of nothing, helicopters carrying something like 80 tons of cargo, 5 guys instantly rebuilding a FARP. :) But yeah not one of my best Ideas. :D Seeing all the people which wouldnt like it I think we trash that one. :D
  6. Dunno, capturing enemy equipment and using it is not exactly daft/unheard of. And since we are all DCS pilots and only a small faction is single frame pilots, doesnt seem too useless to me. If any sides single frame pilots decide to get into other frames and fail horribly due to the different style, dunno. :D blame the pilot. I mean disclaimer again not thinking its the best idea ever but daft is an clear exageration in the other direction. And honestly, Alpenwolf likes it and I respect him as as a very reasonable person to discuss with. :D So yeah I totally get and accept that you dont like the Idea but I protest in a friendly manner that its not darft. :D [if the daftness you write of is caused by the "wrong direction" please elaborate what you mean, didnt get the memo there. :) ]
  7. Ah noice find ! Yeah hoping that in general rockets get better smoke trails. Russian S8 rockets also practically operate smokeless, while IRL they dont do that really. But I hope as you do, that we ged glorious m70 black smoke trails ! :D EDIT: Big shoutout to all you people doing work here informing everyone while beeing nice people. This thread is just wonderfull to be a part off. [inspired by terrible experience with people in other speculation/discussion threads for other in dev modules. x)]

  9. Could be that it was only AP/frag. Since when I compared it to the S13ot, the warhead weight was bigger while the HE load was smaller. But we all know fragmentation damage in DCS. x) Yeah now that you said it, I think you are right, there were high and low drag versions of the m71.

  11. Afaik the gunpods get CCIP by radar ranging. The 135mm rockets are limited to HE and training warheads in the swedish inventory afaik. The bombs are limited to 16x 120kg HE bombs or ilumination bombs. If you consider the BK90 a bomb is up to you. :D
  12. What your FARP ? All petting zoos will be blue on mission start ofc. Reds will have to pay double entrance fee in fuel. :lol: The oppresive redfor repression has to continue in every area. Dunno If you are referring to my fleet Ideas, I am not requesting them, just shared my thoughts on how naval aircraft/ anti ship aircraft could get a job in blueflag. And since, if we speculate wildly, we will have something like 2-3 rounds before theese frames start to materialize, I just wanted to get the ball rolling Idea wise. :) Not requesting that my Idea shall get implemented. :D [Viggen, F18, Tomcat with a big question mark, although the state the Viggen will get released in, as it seems, might indeed allow Leatherneck to bring the f14 sooner then one think they will but hey, speculations] I should really write a disclaimer in my signature that all my statements are made while beeing aware that I am one person, I can only ever have a limited perspective and while I try to be as close as something vaguely defineable as "correct", I never expect to be correct, even if I do not see the flaw in my thinking. :D And then people would probably not read the disclaimer and still think I am not beeing aware of that but well hey. :D happenz EDIT: Where did the freakin post go reaper. :D Not only your KA50 disappears form radar, also your post. Might have been you seen it, due h264 not painting over the marvelous details of fault free DCS night rendering with a dull, aproximated grey to black, which has been simplified in geometry by trigonometric functions, but I cant. :D What I can see is a probably f15 beeing engaged by you by gun, you completly miss the first run, then due to lag or maneuvers or i dunno whats happening you overshoot get him with IRST and destroy him on the second pass. I dont even know whats wrong because I cant see stuff and there is no tacview nor graphs to highlight the issue you see. :D Enlight me plox ! :D literally :D
  14. The lag is a damn issue, man! It did screw me over in various dogfights! Having the enemy jumping up and down all over the screen. That one actually does happen :D It's pretty much annoying when the other player denies it although he knew it lagged, but hey! He's got the kill so it was his skill not the lag :chair: yeah, right... The rest is just not important to me. S! The lag and balancing were the main parts I was looking at. ;D Although the rest sometimes applies as well. :D But not as prominent.
  15. That'd be cool! But also capturing these units should be limited. And when captured they get their own scheme/painting as if to help the allying players to determine if they're friendly or foe. I wouldnt mine limiting the weapons as well. Same way fuel is limited and fuel crates must be transferred... On the other hand it might get too lame if at some point you have no heli pilots online for a certain period of time. sounds good to me. Just a very limited stockpile and maybee not every base/FARP. Just a few. :)
  16. Everyone should be happy as soon as we just supply all the aircrafts as is, only putting limits regarding time period as far as possible. If people arent happy then, they can just go play on most of the other servers, since the all frames vs all frames is quite common as I do understand it. I like the asymetric setup and honestly I also think it would balance red vs blue player numbers better over time. Had multiple people on blue missing red frames blue normally gets. And probably the other way around as well. @bodyorgan maybee redfor will get an advantage next time, we shall see. ;) Just gonna leave this here: [ame] [/ame] [Not looking at anyone just trying to stahp the balancing memez.]
  17. I have thought about the possibilities to add naval vessels as well, since we will soon get capable ASM carrying planes/Carrier operated planes. Its really hard to come up with a concept here imho. Because, well a Carrier fleet isnt really capturable, the only thing you can do is sink it. :D So instead of defending it from capture it would be indeed cool to have a carrier/invasion fleet going from the east to the west and vice versa for each side. If the fleet reaches the other end of the map, a bridgehead is established with a FARP maybee ? That way you would get helis somewhere deep in enemy teritory and fighter crafts from the carrier. It doesnt seem to me like a game over thing, because you dont get the fully featured arsenal of planes, neither do you get an airfield or something directly. At some point the fleets would probably engage each other and the one which has survived the whole trip better will obviously deal greater damage to the enemys fleet. Also you could fly in spare parts with choppers, as long as your fleet is in viable range for helis from the coast. I mean it would take something like 10 hours for a fleet to get from one end to the other, so it would be a really longterm operation. Just some Ideas, dont even know if that is an option to have like 10 ships moving, probably the server will die from that already because #DCS. And i liked the nato vs. pact concept and would say it should be kept that way. Way more reason to join redfor for a round at some point then with all get the same CAS stuff. What I also would find interesting would be capturing small amounts of enemy equipment. like red getting 1 or 2 f15s out of blue home bases and blue su27s. Or mi29/mirages etc. etc.. Dunno just an idea.

  21. At least for 1 I can tell you that you cant in the mirage ! :D As soon as you drop under notch speed your drop of the radar. Unless closer then like 2 miles. Not the god damn igla discussion again. :lol:
  22. For 2: That is interesting, I never used the vector functionality of the ABRIS so far but I guess for a scenario like blueflag its really usefull. I was allways like I cant slew to it, why should I care. :D 3 is actually really good point as well, same here, scan didnt seem to be too usefull to me since it didnt autolock anything which would be contrast rich enough to be locked. Yeah figured 4 out from watching your tracks and it works quite well, can ackowledge. :D For 5, actually the A10c has a LWS afaik, it just doesnt alarm per default, not sure if you can change that but there is symbology for beeing painted by lazer afaik. For 10 I tend to just hammer coordinates in of bunnkers and air defence systems into the pvi800 as TGT points. Doesnt give you the accuracy of the datalink because it doesnt store vectors but it gives one a good option to just cycle through the points quite fast to know which one is possibly in range without zooming around on the ABRIS. Also I find it more comfortable then the datalink, if you dont need to land right on top of the target instantly. :D But It gives you a way to start hammering targets in earlier then you can visually aquire them by shkval. Yeah was really fun playing hide and seek with you. :D And can confirm you gave me insta kudos for killing you in muh gazelle even though I spoted you late. :DD Also toptip, use s8KOM against the bunkers. 10 s8kom take down a bunker and within like 1 kilometer just with the burst at 10 rockets thats working really good, I got it down to like 80% succes with the first burst when I did testing what secondary load was best against them, and you dont have to waste 4 vikhrs and well its fun. :D And yeah, dont go guns on a heli unless you can go guns from like 30degrees + better like 50-60. There the skval is tending to be blind or you are forced to be pitched up quite a bit for a long time. Yeah really nice fights and sneaky things were done during round8, was fun. :D [be warned, the Gazelles laser range finder ATM doesnt trigger the LWR atm. You can fire without the ranging since its SACLOS and the guidance system just keeps it on the aimpoint not the point its supposed to go to, aaaand its smokeless. But in comparison the slew rate of the camera is just terrible. And it takes forevar to rotate the thing in autohover by camera but engagement can be on average faster since the missile is slow enough that you can just fire and guide it in while its already on its way. And hovering just is a terrible unsafe state of flight. xD] And Bss-sniper really how and from where did you shoot me on mm59 ? :D I was literally hovering there [on 95% torque btw, could not clibm faster then 10m/min] only looking over the mountain peek in front of me with the sight. :D I think you came from the east somewhere but I really could not figure out why and how the fug from where you shot me there. :D

Really great time with you all and great fun the times i was on red TS channel as well having a little conversation. :D Especially Bodyorgan and some other guys whos name i forgot due to my terrible memory for names. And thx reaper I really learnt a lot from you in terms of trolling AND how to fly helicopters even more stealthy. Really great round :D
  25. What I said its unfair so I guess it matters. I didnt want to defend mirage bugs, just the missiles and FM arent wrong afaik.
