Operation "Blue Flag" - 24/7 PvP Campaign - ROUND 8
microvax replied to gregzagk's topic in Multiplayer
priceless !!!!!!! :megalol::megalol::megalol: +1337 for gryfindor or whatevar you like. :D -
CCRP already works with lofting, cue is only appreaing to late, if you do pitch up early enough it will release correctly though. Well, space gbu12 can divert 3 miles from target no problem. So for them I consider it legit to ommit the IP INS update, if that is possible, as it did sound to me.
-
The supersonic part can be omitted, and even with current CCrP without the IP, its well possible. At 11-12 nm pitchup to exchange all excess speed you have for alt, so A) the alt loss is not as important and b) you dont have to handle as much G load. Then when within 10nm, roll over, pitchdown, mark next to waypoint indicator, roll over again, pitch up while keeping the trigger pressed. Mission accomplished, space gbu12 dropped. For Ip bombing, didnt Zeus say if radar isnt available, no ins update is done and you just can do it without ins update ? So turn radar off and you are free to bomb whatevar you want, ofc with INS drift ? And if that is not an option, set the IP 50 miles away, problem solved as well. But stahp that silly unrealistic CCRP drop without a cue, I mean, WTF. But also are you sure jojo, that high alt is also restricted to subsonic with a2g ? For the Viggen for example its only up to 5000ft afaik. EDIT: Honestly accelerating to supersonic up there with a2g is painfull anyway and doesnt give you more extra really.
-
As you said, CCIP, but GBU12s in the mirage are release in CCRP. So no manual release for you. Unless someone finds out that against info atm you can switch between CCRP and CCIP independant of payload.
-
Thanks for the early warning. Thought profanity was the only problem on theese forums. :D I can remember on WT forums the mods were banterous enough to simply put auto replacements for so conceived profane words. :D Did lead to some really funny posts. :D
-
Why should there ever be a manual gbu12 release irl. It sounds like an awfully dangerous and seriously not recommended thing. :D
-
I am not talking about you, I am talking about the general connection between pilot who put the others flying machine out of service and the one in the vehicle which is supposedly out of service. :D No more spamvikhrs, how unpleasant. :D I prefer the gun for heli to heli warfare anyways, unless it would take to much time to catch up, or the targeted heli needs to be put out of comission fast. And 2-3 30mm hits seem more reliable to me then the average 2 vikhr hits. Curious how the mistral missiles will be after todays patch.
-
Afaik its performance reasons which led to the removal for now. If they were introduced with an an DCS update or were there just all the time, I dunno.

I agree with the previous poster that its a bad sport but tbh, no it doesnt take the fun out of beeing a pilot for me at least. Its more or of an indicator to me that the one which just got shot down by me is either 12 years old and really thinks its taking anything from me that the hopefully integer counter doesnt increase towards the next best buffer overflow, or has something better to do then let its plane fall to the ground and cant be bothered to eject. :D For the first part I cant be bothered to be annoyed by someone with such low standards to himself, who thinks he is taking anything from me with denying a counter increment. If I let myself get emotionally compromised by that I am not really different from him. A la Let the Salt flow through you young Skywalker And If someone has something better to do and forgets or cant be bothered to eject because its not doing anything gameplay wise, hell I am happy to accept that. Even If I had a emotional need for an integer ++;, that cant be higher then anyone elses wish for just getting into another plane and keep flying, in the end both are just random arse feelings and wishes generated by our brain based on outdated models. So on that philosophical bombshell, no, I really dont mind, I just am amused if people seem to intentionally do it and am perfectly fine if people simply want to do it independant of the ++;. And its true, if all your crew dies the same thing will happen as well. And to merge that with the tanky mirage meme. I just never eject once i am fataly it, aka 95% of the time the first hit, so whats left of my mirage just continues a parabolic flightpath, during that phase people hit me usually with 2-3 additional missiles. It may well be that people consider that as tanky mirage. :D [EDIT: I allways eject last moment or wait until the wreck hits the ground, I just love to make them waste missiles on a target thats already done for]

Do you really need the confirmation by a game counter saying +1. I mean I cant really make out if you are serious or trolling here. I would expect that someone with your track record/experience really doesnt give anything about a game counting it as a kill or not.

It was something like 7km out, so I really guess he could have made it. The engine vibration is actually very weird. I have no engineering explanation for that, also dust should not lead to engine fire that. It will just tear the engine super next level. Because literally the same thing should happen if you sit longer then a few minutes with running engines on the deck. I would call buggz on the ka50 behaviour there. The vibration leading to fire is understandable but what the heck causes the vibration. Vibration should only be a thing with over RPM or a faulty engine. And with dust protection running it should not bother the engines. really weird  If it was some rapidly changing airpressure thing due to beeing in groundeffect, leading to differences in the pressure in the compressor stages, that would explain that, but I have sat on FARPs for literally 15 minutes engines running nothing happening. Has anyone a explanation for that ? Anyways I have driven the mi8 for more then 7km definetely, I really just admired the try to still make it into troop dropoff zone with a broken helicopter. :D [On a different note, gazelle doesnt suffer from dying from flying below 5m in DCS. Also bo105s dont die from flying sub5m. German bo105 squadron literally fly all the time below 5m agl by strategy. Also other light helicopter pilots in service told me that if you are doing NOE you are evading medium sized rocks in the landscape, like 0,5m height objects. So I am struggeling to find an explanation why out of all helicopters the ka50 should struggle with this.]
-
Well Leatherneck devs said you may spot aircrafts if you are a experienced operator iirc. So maybee you can spot a helicopter since its reflecting more then the average soil, but for a tank I do not have my hopes high. I guess its possible to make out target groupings since the reflection from that area should be stronger but no hopes for indifvidual targets tbh.
-
that is the a2g radar you are getting. You can spot things the size of a antenna mast, you can spot big terrain features and a well experienced operator may spot an aircraft afaik, but the max range resolution you can put it on is 15km, so imagine the part of 15km a tank is on that screen. So yeah, it acts as a map afaik for most of the time. But for RBS15 programming you actually have a cursor on the radar image so dunno. We will see. But for sure it will be stil up to you to manually interpret the image you are getting. Since Leatherneck has implemented raycasting and implemented different reflective characteristics for different objects, well possible that a experienced observer can kinda make things out, but there is nothing like target recognition by the radar or anything in that regard.

I know that worked during the testing rounds with the grass starting 342ls. But that was before round 8. And if so going spectators would stop you from gaining a life back. :D It only gives the message when you land at farps or airbases, but you also get it back anywhere ? while beeing silent about it :D really ? :D Cant test atm because i dont have a gpu atm but ye if that is the case its pretty hilarious. :D Viggen would love that, 300-500m of road needed for landing only. :D And yeah reaper i would really go with frustration or rageleaveplane. :D I btw love the redfor mi8 pilots which still try to crawl on their wheels once they lost their tail but kinda crashlanded. :D Snowmand and I were engaged with 2 MI8s, that was the same 3hr rotation in which you got killed by an vulcan, one mi8 got taken down by a crashing su27 and the other one got intercepted by me, scrambling on full burners from gudauta to gj35, we got both mi8s, well I diabled the first one, then snowman and I took care of the second one, on the way back to the FARP I saw that disabled MI8 rolling towards the farp and I just gunned or rocketed him without changing flightpath. :DD So hilarious. :D
-
Well, if so, dunno on gh22, gj35, ln71, mm05, mm59 it works definitely, it still wouldnt make you loose a life if you didnt change to spectators, since its not bound to the death system at all, since that is not usable from a gameplay perspective really. So you cant escape loosing a life, as long as the mechanic is working as intended, you can only be denied getting it back. And also that myth about some vaziani life hack is a meme on its own. :D What is not a meme is that the tblisi/vaziani redwings get scrambled by the part of the mission blue b1b sitting on the tarmack. [At least that is my interpretation of the ai mig 29s from that base taking of at each rotation IF red owns theese airfields. @elmo I know your feels, but if there is a change I would 100% be for the same treatment for planes and helis. Its the same situation, the attacking forces have to take care about spooling up planes and have to kill the respawning forces again and again and again and again and yadayadayadayada. One could argue that irl nothing would get close enough undetected so it would be legid that helis and or planes start hot in case of an attack, but for a gameplay perspective i would really be for loosing a life when strafed on the runway/ and choosing another slot, if that is possible. But I dont have a problem with the situation atm. I would only really be for an equal treatment of FARPs and Airports or fixed and rotary for that matter.
-
I guess its called frustration. :D I am really surprised you didnt get the life mechanic yet, you loose your life when you take off, so you only get it back if you land at an airport/FARP. Dunno if it works with comm arrays. So unless you can spaceport to the next FARP/Airport you dont get your life back, so it isnt about not loosing it in the first place. :)

German wiki lies says the manpads version has enough coolant for 45 seconds of seeker operation. For the ATAM version I would honestly expect there to be an compressor for cooling.
-
There is really no schedule afaik, you can tell by the server changing weather/time of day each time its crashes on restart.
-
Someone said it has a target of oppotunity mode more like a traditional bomb, so possible. But main mode of release is just by coordinates afaik.

Did German Mig-29Gs have any European missiles?
microvax replied to carss's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Nope, the german mig29s did run on the missiles which were part of the DDR inventory. Only thing they got were upgrades to the nav and radio systems to be nato compatible. -

:D We have a wide range of very different GCIs. :D Dunno who that was, I think I only heard him one time. Thanks for the Kudos, yeah never engage a gazelle in a knife fight. :D Just dont. :D Except its a mistral version. :D -
*glowing eyes* The hype will be real. Thx for the info though ! :) Literally cant wait, lectures for uni start in early to mid october. xD

Operation "Blue Flag" - 24/7 PvP Campaign - ROUND 8
microvax replied to gregzagk's topic in Multiplayer
Yee, duty cycle at high PRF should lead exactly to that, but good to know there is public infor. BTW: My first try at something Video thingy. Wild mix of an Sortie recap, a kill, and a little bluefor communications standard. :D Was one of the early sorties of mine in round 8, and one of the most enjoyable ones. I did even get close to running out of fuel in a heli in blueflag. [ame] [/ame] [so funny because you can literally hear how i didnt really buy GCIs "he's right on top of you". :D Actually at 2:50 you can see reaper passing through the FOV for literally 2 seconds. :D] -
Operation "Blue Flag" - 24/7 PvP Campaign - ROUND 8
microvax replied to gregzagk's topic in Multiplayer
Thats the beauty of a doppler radar, anything that moves differnt to the plane then the ground is a visible target. Ground clutter DENIED Even without doppler shift filters trimmed for helicopter detection, you still should get a target recognition as long as the echo is strong enough. And If we want to know about that range, welllllll, ask the military what kind of gain their amplifiers and antenna has and how their emitting power look like. They will tell us for sure. :D Correct is that the speed indication should be wanky until its getting nullified by range factor. With the f18 you should be able to just go synthetic aperture radar, I guess. :D -
