If, you are interested in the F-15, which I would recommend prior to jumping to the Hornet, as it is a slighter step in the A/A arena for DCS and not quite as complex. Here's a series I created that may help your transition. Even, if you jump directly to the Hornet, not bad a lot of the info can be used in all aircraft. Cheers!

Miles, I think I speak for most of us here.. I can't tell you how grateful I am for your work. This is going to be a real game changer for us VR users. I don't think people like yourself truly get the appreciation and recognition for your personal time spent as well as dedication to the community. You could have very easily kept this to yourself. Thank you very much for all your efforts! Can't wait to send you some $$$ for these :) Keep it up and keep the cloud of negativity out of your sights :)- 3421 replies

This will wrap up the F-15C. Let me know what you guys thought of the series for those who watched it. I'd appreciate the feedback as well as a like or subscribe or two. :) Let me know what your thoughts are on the next series!!

be·ta test noun noun: beta test; plural noun: beta tests 1. a trial of machinery, software, or other products, in the final stages of its development, carried out by a party unconnected with its development. DCS World OpenBeta was updated today... I wonder, if OpenBeta was an option to download... I wish there was a release that I could use that wouldn't have these types of bugs because they would have been fixed after the community reported them in a "TEST or BETA" release.. golly this sucks... Oh well... :) By the way for anyone who didn't catch it... this is MAJOR sarcasm... download the RELEASE VERSION!!!! This has been a public service announcement. We will now resume the regularly scheduled program...

Also, the 2080ti is not the monster that everyone was expecting it to be. This is why Nvidia did NOT do any game play performance posts at the announcement. Historically, we see a 20-30% increase in performance with each new series of cards. With the introduction of the 20 series. We saw 5-8% increase on MOST titles and even a loss with others. Be informed before you purchase.... new doesn't always mean better.

Thank you very much! You did a great job with this tool! I was very excited when I found it!

I understand what you're saying. My personal response would be to prevent relying on the long range and free flight of the AMRAAM. With the Sparrow, you're going to have to learn ACM as you have to get significantly closer to use it or learn what your altitude separation needs to be at range. You're going to have to learn situational awareness. I would without question say that Sparrow requires much more skill to use and get back home. So, I guess the short answer for DCS World's purpose would be to increase the difficulty of the match if that'st what you're into :).

Thank you guys for your comments!! Be sure to subscribe to see more! I plan on doing this for all the aircraft. I do want to emphasize these are just basics but even experts may pick up a thing or two :) Thanks again!

In today's course, we'll be going over the AN/APG 63 Pulse Doppler radar in the F-15C for DCS World using an amazing tool designed by AlephRo from TAW. Thank you very much for making this tool available to the community.

Today, we will dive into the radar while in the cockpit. We'll look at the controls, display readout, and finally tracking a target using Range While Scan (RWS).

Today, we will finish the basic training needed for the AN/APG-63 Pulse Doppler Radar. More specifically, we'll be talking about Track While Scan (TWS). Next, course we'll start diving into the missile systems.

Welcome back to the F-15C for DCS World! Today, we will learn the basics of employing the AIM-120 AMRAAM or 'slammer' as it is called by the pilots. We focus on not only AMRAAM itself, but also the different acquisition modes along with the AN/APG 63 Radar. Strap in and enjoy the ride!

That is a really crappy thing to say. You have absolutely no clue what you're talking about and what it takes to code, much less code a 3 dimensional, highly interactive, environmentally changing, SIM with complex systems and about an infinite number of different configurations and user setups. Let's see you make a working version of Solitaire from scratch... a simple 2D card game... If, you can do that then you can at least voice an opinion... Also, as someone else mentioned... THIS IS BETA meaning, you can bet your money it WILL have bugs and things to be fixed. That's why you have the option of only using the release version. Notice, there wasn't a patch for the Stable release this week as was supposed to be according to the schedule. The purpose of a BETA release is to aid in finding serious bugs within the community configuration. If, you don't want to be a part of that... uninstall OpenBeta and install the Stable release. Have a good day and stop putting other people's hard work down simply because you are impatient and have absolutely no understanding of what it takes to write a piece of software such as DCS. P.S. The word is "developer" or "development".... If, you're going to make an a&& of yourself on a public forum, at least use proper spelling... When you spell something wrong, it is highlighted in red, right click and select the proper spelling. Another, neat feature some developer created. :) @Developers: You're doing a great job! The advancements and changes to DCS are getting more and more exciting and I can't wait to see what you guys come up with next! The changes are rapid and keep all of us on our toes and looking at the forums ASAP every patch day. Keep it up!!!

Monitor 4k is a problem in DCS 2.5?
Pac-Man replied to Reinaldow's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
It must have been solved. I recently picked up a 4K monitor and love it. I can see aircraft miles and miles away. -
Perfect! Thank you again for looking into this for me. I'm still using RSMapper over TARGET. I really appreciate your communication. Still one hell of a program. Great Job, again! I look forward to your next release!! Take care!

I appreciate the help. Thank you for very much for taking time out of your day for this. It's really a fantastic product.

Sorry, the speedbrake was a bad example. I have tried with multiple configurations. So, the command that actually drew my attention to this was A/G mode and A/A Mode in the Hornet. I bound the master mode button on the stick: Single Press : 1 - A/A Mode Long Press : 2 - A/G Mode Received the results I was alerting you to. Also, I have discovered after testing with the F-15C and the Harrier, this seems to only be effecting the F-18.

So, a couple things to add to this discussion. CPU vs GPU - In the end this is a balancing act. CPU needs to be fast enough to send your packets to the card the second its ready to receive it. Otherwise known as bottle necking. For example, when I upgraded the first time from the GTX 970 to the 1070 using an OOOOLLLLDDD AMD FX-6300, the GPU ceased to be an issue and my CPU became one. My CPU could not deliver the information to the graphics card fast enough to keep up. Therefor, I wasn't getting the full benefit of the GTX 1070. So, I upgraded and went to the i7-7700k. FPS jumped from about 45FPS to 150 depending on settings and server load. RAM - 16GB is average. However, running DDR3 again creates a bit of a bottleneck and may require a bit more than DDR4 to achieve the same performance. DDR4 process information much faster and more efficiently than DDR3. Something, to think about. Although, as usual make sure your MOBO supports it if you consider changing to DDR4. Most, don't support both. Finally, Do i upgrade? Do i buy Pascal (10 series) or wait for next Gen? I highly recommend watching this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=796S3oZmmcE. Jay is very well informed and works closely with many of the main line production companies. I have seen multiple reviewers saying the same thing. That NVidia are less likely to reduce the cost of the 10 series and rather raise the cost of the 11 series above until the 10 series are no longer in high supply. A 980 to a 1080 or 1080ti you WILL SEE a major difference. As, long as the rest of your machine can keep up. Think of it as putting a Ferrari engine in a Honda. Just because the engine is fast, doesn't mean the rest of the vehicle can handle it. Hope this helps. I know this can be a costly and nerve popping endeavor.
