  1. I understand delays so don't take this negatively. However, are we gonna get any communication from ED on this today? We were given quite a bit of hype on this. Just be nice to hear an update. :)
  2. I should have that out in about 3 weeks. :)
  3. So, not necessarily a "help" but a point in the right direction. 1. Use high fidelity aircraft when creating your single player missions. F-14's, Hornet, etc... 2. Use the Persian Gulf. It isn't near as optimized as the Caucasus map. If, you get the frame rate you're looking for on PG... CA will be perfect. 3. You can't base performance on multiplayer. So, many other variables come into play a. preload and server density (AI) b. network latency c. population and types of aircraft in use d. then finally the local DCS settings Hope this helps.
  4. Hope you guys find this useful. I tried to cover all the basis from the average consumer stand point. I tried to stay away from technical details and focus on the experience specifically to DCS.
  5. I will test this when I'm off work and get back to you.
  6. So because you made a personal choice to pour a lot of money into your flight sim that means the devs should expedite the process. I have almost 7k in my setup. I don't regret a dime of it. I have a great time flying with Rift with respectable settings. I said in a previous post and I'll say it again. People complain when ED doesn't communicate, so they start communicating. Then people complain that they don't have what was communicated fast enough. So, ED rushes the product to make the community happy. Then because it was rushed for the community, it doesn't run optimally yet, so people complain. How about we just be grateful it's even being addressed as they could have just said "buy a better system. Put MORE money into it so it can handle the load" . They didn't. ED as a company has to pay devs for their time. The devs have to test every change. Often in programming a change that fixes one issue will break another. You are talking about the terrain engine. The hardest thing for any game to generate is the terrain. Requires the most load and the most coding. They aren't changing the light switch on the cockpit. They are redesigning the way the environment is made. But yes. Let us shout our lack of gratitude to those who are spending hours and hours to make YOUR flight experience just a little bit better each time. Let's keep telling them it's not good enough, fast enough, doesn't have enough features, and should be this way or that way. I work in tech and have spent long hours and hard days trying to develop environments for companies and individuals. It really does suck and really is demotivating to read/hear that your work and time isn't good enough... and no matter how you twist it that is what you're saying every time you post something like this. @ED if you happen to see this: You guys are doing an amazing job with a multitude of projects. From the hornet, to weapons, to ME, to the terrain and clouds... It has changed so much over the years. Keep up the fantastic work and know the vast majority of the community is grateful for your time and efforts. THANK YOU for using your time to make our time a little better :)
  7. Another video will be coming showing the step by step process. But it really is just plug n' play.
  8. Hope you guys enjoy!
  9. Hey Wags, I'm not an expert. So, forgive me if this doesn't help. However, I was trying to dig around to help. What about this? https://xflight.de/pe_org_doc.htm
  10. Ya know... I don't normally engage in this crap but, this just gets stupid. People of the community complain that ED doesn't communicate and doesn't give us information -- Wags and the ED team begin giving us information and updates of what they're working on Then we complain about the time frame -- ED begins releasing content a bit faster with less time to test. Then we complain about how "they should have tested better, they break everything, bla bla bla" You catch the drift. We (as a community) are not the programmers or developers of ED. Yet, we want everything working right everyday. Every update better have whatever was even "hinted" at being a possibility immediately. STOP COMPLAINING!! Yes, I get just as frustrated and want the same features. However, just learning to use MOOSE scripting is a pain in the rear. So, I can't image what coding VR, and terrain engines must be like. The complex coding of the aircraft, etc. Unless, you're willing to dive in and show that you can do it better and faster, knock it off. Do you (people who religiously throw your complaints out) ever think of how demoralizing it must be to read this crap day in an day out. I complain too.. just not on the forums where the developers and team can see this crap tossed in their face. I have no idea what it takes to make this all work together. Give them a damn break. At lease tthey're working on it. I have seen plenty of software and other games/sims that couldn't give 2 craps about the communities complaints/requests. Just food for thought. Give them a chance and a pat on the back vrs saying they're efforts aren't good enough and slapping them in the face... every day...
