  1. Good Day, Pilots! In the begining of today's course, I will first go over a few corrections that I need to announce from previous videos. Some symbology errors as well as how to use the HSI to get back on to the correct route. Then, we will jump into the Radar tutorial, in which we will discuss the controls, symbology, RWS while in BVR, IFF symbols, as well as a little fun with a missile at the end! :) First, 15min are corrections for previous videos. Radar information start at 15:30
  2. yep
  3. Negative. When a missile is launched, radar energy is further increased to its maximum energy output as it must now relay target telemetry. Essentially, the RWR is interpreting the signal strength changed as a possible missile launch. With a semi active radar guided missile, you will never see the actual missile position appear on the RWR. That is the advantage that still exists with that type of weapon. Now, with an active radar guided missile such as the AMRAAM, you will receive missile location once the missiles onboard radar has gone active (pitbull). However, until that point you will still only get the "possible missile launch tone" So, for DCS purposes.. yes the tone change is a missile launch. However, in real world the alert is merely identifying the signal strength change which is MOST LIKELY a missile launch. Hope, that clears it up a bit.
  4. Greg, I hope you have seen how incredibly valuable and meaningful to all of us your efforts are. What breaks my heart the most, is the very thing you and the rest of our service men and women are fighting for seems to be at the root of this. Freedom... freedom to share your passion and knowledge of aviation. Freedom to give us just a glimpse of what it means to experience such a thrill and rush that you get to live every time you go up there. It's truly heartbreaking to me. I always dreamed as a boy of becoming a fighter pilot. I dreamed of what it must be like to travel to what must feel like the heavens. To be so close to it you almost feel like you could touch it. Your videos and the few other pilots like yourself who provide that perspective should be praised by those who will never get the chance to experience that. I'm so sorry, that the very people you and many others have sworn to protect, can't appreciate the opportunity you provided for them. I hope a time comes where you reconsider and return to YouTube. Submit your videos to anyone one of us and we'll "anonymously" ;) post them for you! As, Maverick said, your videos were truly valuable. I grabbed a couple myself. :)
  5. Good Morning and Happy Thanksgiving to all who celebrate! Today, we'll go over navigation in the MiG-29 as well as using ILS to get back to the runway or airfield. The video is still uploading at the time of this post. If, it isn't available check back in a few minutes. Be safe everyone!
  6. LOL well I'm curious, what was the answer lol
  7. I have seen this one other time as well. If, you have a mod that is dependent on other mods. For example, what happened with me is I was using a static template for air field units. This template actually required two separate mods (which I would have known had I read the entire post). However, since I only had part of the items the template was looking for, I received the Dict_Key labeling and the mission wouldn't save as well. I went back to the forum post, realized I was missing part of the mod. Installed the remaining items, relaunched DCS, reapplied the static template for the airfield and all worked correctly. Didn't know if mods was something you may need to look at. Hope this helps.
  8. Also, just to clarify... the verometer in the MiG-29 is in meters per second... not hundreds, or feet, or whatever else I said about it. Having a hard time letting go of the US measurements lol... sorry. So, when I say hold 500 meters per minute... its 5 meters per second...
  9. The trick is to get her dirty and stabilized as you make your downwind turn. Use the ILS whenever possible. It is really well done. Hope it helps!
  10. Does a bear crap in the forest?
  11. Welcome back to Basic Fundamentals MiG 29. Today, is kind of a long one where we go over landing with and without ILS assistance. There are a lot of aspects to watch out for with the 29. I hope you enjoy! Make sure to like, subscribe, and comment!! I'm building these out for the community. So, you're feedback is really important to me! Have a great weekend!
  12. I have a very similar setup and I can tell you RAID0 makes minimal improvements...
  13. Miles, If, you're accepting donations, I'd love to participate with purchase at full price. I've said it before and I'll say it again. This is going to be a game change for all of us in VR. So, definitely put me on the list and I think you should create a donation page for the project. You have done a great job with this: 1. Constant communication - many times we see mods, or devices, applications etc that create a ton of hype and nothing ever comes of it or we never hear anything more 2. Time line - along with the constant communication has been constant update of not only "hey we're still on track" but you gave detailed information about what you were doing, what changes were being made, concerns etc. 3. Community feedback - on more then one occasion, you took the communities input and you took it seriously. I don't think you even probably realize how much you made us a part of this. Once, again, very grateful for the time and effort you have put forth and have been willing to share with us all. Hat's off to you, Sir! - OverKill
  14. Welcome to course 2 for the MiG 29!! Today, we'll go over some basic control setup, startup, taxi, and takeoff with the MiG-29 as well as a couple helpful hints along the way. Enjoy the flight!!
  15. We're back! We'll be going over the MiG-29 in the next series. Stay tuned and I hope you enjoy it!
  16. Hey Bud, Can you tell us about your stick setup there??? Very interested...
  17. Warbirds would be a fun one too.. Hadn't thought about those old ladies. Yes, I definitely agree on the holding off on the Hornet. Plus, there's a ton of content on her.
  18. Ka-50 is definitely on my list. I've noticed there's very little content on it.
  19. Are you by chance coming out with a new version? Any chance of seeing sequence options? I REALLY love this software.. I use the crap out of it. Being able to bind a sequence would be phenomenal!!
  20. Maybe this will help...
  21. Please, keep posting thoughts guys. I really want to try to get a comprehensive training channel going for the community. What are your thoughts on Mission Editor training? I was thinking of a course on this as well. This would be "as is" training. Not using custom scripts and such...
  22. I absolutely agree. I only used it in the first couple videos. The whole point is to teach, can't do that if people can't understand me. :) So, yes the radio effect is gone lol. Thank you very much for the subscription. I'll be getting started this week :)
  23. Fair enough! Those are really good points! Thanks for the response!
  24. As some may know, I have a YouTube channel in which I made a Basic Fundamentals course for the F-15C. I received quite a bit of good feedback. In, deciding which aircraft to do next, I figured I'd ask you guys. Please, let me know below. It would help out a lot! Thanks! I hope everyone is having a great week. Stay safe!
