Hi, I published a couple of missions so far and would like to take my next missions to a new level by using LUA scripts. For starters I would love to have a simple script returning TRUE if an aircraft (myAircraft) is painted by SAM site's radar (myRadar) (preferebly the tracking radar). I found snippets and a huge script, but both are a riddle as I have zero LUA experience so far. Fear not, I am not a doofy, I earn my living with script programming. I just need a jump start for LUA/DCS. Any fine fellow mission builder willing to help and push me into the right direction? Thanks Carsten

I did some more tests, this time with the modern tanks (high vs average): M1A2 vs T80: 4:0 Challenger II vs T80: 4:1 Leclerk vs T80: 4:2 and the Leopard drops off again: Leopard 2A6 vs T80: 0:4 Both Leopard 1 and Leopard 2 really need a boost.

Both. The T-55/72s fired one round short, the next was most of the time bullseye. In case of the T-72 it was mostly lethal, even when hitting the Leopard 2 right from the front. The western tanks - Leo 1, Leo 2 and M60 were very inaccurate. If the hit the target, one could nicely see the round bounce of the enemy tank. The only winning combination was Leopard 2A6 set to excellent. But that can't be it - I would expect a Leopard 1A3 superior to the T-55 and roughly en par with the T-72.

Hi, for a new mission I am trying to create a tank battle, which is basically impossible as the Russian made tanks are kind of invinceable. For instance: - 6 Leopard 1A3 or M60A3 don't stand chance against 4 T-55s - 6 Leopard 2A6 are easily defeated by 4 T-72s. The western tanks rarely score a kill (the T-55/72s showing their sides), while the eastern tanks easily score kills through the frontal armour of their western counterparts. I know Russian tanks are good, but the T-72 should by no way be a match for a tank like the Leo 2A6. A propper balance that enables us to build battles with at least an uncertain outcome would be appreciated.

Hi, sorry if this has been asked/answered before - I searched, but could not find anything. Is there a list of the X: Cockpit params somewhere? I am looking for Airspeed and VSI specifically. I do know "RADAR_ALT", but I have no clue where I found that a year ago :/ Cheers Carsten

Thanks a lot, especially the Harpia Publishing books look very promising. Language doesn't matter too much, I prefer english titles, but also have french, dutch, spanish and polish books. Good books in german are very rare.

Hi, I am looking for some recommendations for good books on the MiG-21. Not the standard walk around booklets, more something with "MiG-21 in action" photos and color plates and maybe some recollections of real pilots?
