  1. I’ll have to get a Bluetooth receiver for my computer but I’ll give it a try. Again I barely know what any of this is but does this help at all http:// https://www.foreflight.com/support/network-gps/ I only use Foreflight and have been able to use it with Xplane and FSX in the past Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. That's what I was referring to. I'm trying to use UDP with your MOD but no success. I've tried a couple of different apps namely NMEAconnect and NMEAgps. I honestly don't know what I'm doing though.
  3. Has anyone gotten this to work? I'm trying but am having no luck as of yet.
  4. I know the videos you’re talking about and I’m pretty sure they just focused it for inside because they never had a scene where they show both the inside and outside without a scene cut. I’m telling you from personal experience that the inside will be blurry with goggles on. One option could be to add the AN/AVS-7 which gives you a HUD overlay on your goggles. We probably won’t get that lucky though. Just get used to looking underneath the goggles it will eventually get easier. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Coming from the 60 community I haven’t heard of anyone doing this. However, I guess maybe it makes sense, since you guy actually can move around in the back but I still can’t see the point of adjusting focus inside for front seaters. I do agree it would be a cool feature to adjust the focus but I also would like them to fix the auto brightness control first. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. We were flying a fun little flight when the unexpected happened and turned out to be a great video opportunity. Hope you guys enjoy.
  7. Hopefully, that would be really cool. However don’t hold your breath even though ED says they haven’t forgot about us, us rotor heads are definitely not the priority. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Really the fact is the -10 says you are limited at this many knots then you are just limited. It’s not really up to the pilot to decipher it. There are some limitations that are either arbitrary or there to reduce stress and with a letter from the manufacturer it’s kinda hard to know. For example in the UH-60 we are limited to roll on landings below 60 knots and for years every one said it was because of limitations to the tail wheel until someone wrote Sikorsky. Their response was that the military gave them the requirement of 60 knots so they didn’t test it any further. We are probably both right but without knowing from the engineers it’s kinda hard to tell and you would go mad trying to knit pick everything in the -10. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. I think if you select United States for the country for the MI-8 it does because I’ve definitely had the Crew chief talk to me in English. However even if this is the case it needs to be fixed so that language is dependent on your selection not the aircraft. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Huey in real life ... safe wind speed to fly? Also I would argue that tail rotor authority changes on weight and density altitude. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Well it does say starts are limited to 30 knots. In forward flight the aircraft knows no different. I think the reason you are limited is actually because of the nature of the rotor system it being a semi rigid underslung rotor system. Mast bumping is a real problem and in those wind conditions you could get into mast bumping conditions. In hover flight it could also be because of the tail rotor but the fact that the starting limit is the same is an indication to me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Huey in real life ... safe wind speed to fly? I checked the the -10 and the Huey and here is what it said Max crosswind for hover is 30 knots Max tailwind for hover is 30 knots And max wind for starting is 30 or max gust spreads of 15 knots Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. I don’t think it’s on the user files it’s just on the ED forum https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=151646 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. And actually with most modern cockpit setups the lighting is filtered out by the NVGs anyway. Again I highly recommend Tacca’s mod for the NVGs it really is good and allows you to move the NVGs and resize them how you like. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. As has been addressed before this is realistic. NVGs have a set focus that is adjusted by the pilot and usually the pilot adjusts the focus well outside the aircraft so that they can see. NVGs are not like cameras and cannot focus automatically. Usually the pilot just looks underneath the goggles to see all the instruments. For VR I highly recommend Tacca’s NVG mod (formerly Frenchy’s NVG mod) this Mod makes the use of NVGs in VR a much more realistic as usable experience. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Anyone else notice the lack of helicopters in the video?
  17. Oh ya that aircraft would probably never be flown again IRL Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. I couldn’t have said it better myself. Also I think a lot of people are missing the whole multiship aspect. If you do a crazy maneuver like this you might have another aircraft up your ass. Also the chapter 5 limitation for sidewards flight is the Huey is 30 knots Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I would love to see a C-7 caribou I think it’s role would be very well suited for the types of maps we have plus add in a tool to make a small airstrip in the mountain or surrounded by trees and you then get the ultimate bush pilot experience. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. https://www.globalsecurity.org/military/library/policy/army/fm/3-04-203/fm3-04-203.pdf Fundamentals of flight is also a great one as well it is more from the military perspective. And just to reiterate my previous statements. I really don't want to put down Backspace for his flying but I can not recommend anything he said really I just recommend that you get a good understanding of the principles of flight first so that you can connect it to what you are doing in the aircraft and practice deliberately.
  21. Chicken Hawk was a great book I also highly recommend To The Limit by Tom A Johnson it’s currently my personal favorite. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. I'm honestly starting to think this is a joke, guys you can't be serious.
  23. I think you still don’t understand what we do. I encourage you to stop by BSD and fly a mission with us because it’s definitely not all about long flights and straight in approaches. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. I guess at the end of the day it is a game and you are free to do what you want. I just think you are failing to see our point. When you learn bad habits it’s extremely hard to unlearn them and giving advise like just fly until you stop crashing is not constructive. I’m not really sure what the OP wanted if he would like to take your advice than that’s fine it’s a game. But I would suggest trying to see the bigger picture. Take an air assault for example where you need to get three helicopters into an area no bigger than a football field. The goal is to get troops on the ground at the same time, does your method work. Now think about this could you even fly precise enough to pull off an air assault like that. I would say probably not because you haven’t practiced deliberately. However I can tell you that I can fly just as erratically as you in DCS and I do sometimes because it’s a game. Take my original video for example or this Again I know this is a game but if all you can do are those quick landings for slingloads DCS will get pretty boring pretty quick having the ability to integrate into a formation flight is where DCS can really get fun. 25. The major problem with coming in sideways like that is you are increasing your chances of having a dynamic rollover. Remember you need three things to have a dynamic rollover a pivot point a rolling motion and exceeding the critical angle. This last part being the only thing missing saving you from disaster.
