Really starting to get annoyed with all the crashing
MobiSev replied to MobiSev's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
It's really weird. Sometimes I can play long periods of time with Jester when I can lock in PAL/STT with no problems at all. Other times, as soon as jester STT locks, I CTD. It might have something to do with the jester sound files? -
Really starting to get annoyed with all the crashing

I dont play single player too much. People might not be posting crash reports due to the fact that it does not produce one. It's just a straight CTD with no error message or anything. Most seem to post in threads that have already been started. See link below. As far as i know, this is extremely common in MP...at least in all the servers I join. Crashing is mainly associated with STT locking with jester. There has been a patch relating to this, and it fixed it in some cases, but it still happens a lot (the server I play on requires people to be in voice chat, so I constantly hear about crashing in the 14). Also, the crashing does not produce a crash report, just straight CTD. See the thread below. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=239002 But to answer your questions: 1. No, I update every time a patch is released, and I have not recently uninstalled/reinstalled 2. I will try this, but I have played with others who have done this and still experience the crashes. 3. No mods installed 4. My system specs: Graphics: AMD RX 480 8 GB RAM: 32 GB DDR4 CPU: i5 7600K, 3.80 GHz 5. It does not happen EVERY time, but it happens often enough where it's an issue. Sometimes I can go a relatively long time without crashing, sometimes it crashes extremely often. Others are having the same problem: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=239002 7. Discord? Nothing that should really interfere 8. Same as #1 -
Constant crashing whenever STT locking in multiplayer with no end in sight... I'm sure I'm not alone in this. Please tell me you have found the problem HB...

I was binding some planes I bought on Steam (f-5 & Mig-21) to the standalone version of the game, and I noticed something after i activated the Star Force serial number i got from Steam. What does this mean? Number of activations spent/total: 1 / 10 Add activation automatically: Enabled Time period: 30 days Do I only 10 activation on the same computer for 30 days each, after which I cant fly my module anymore??? I really hope I'm just misunderstanding...

Unless I’m doing something wrong, you can only move a single unit at a Rome in CA. My wishlist item is to give players the ability to drag a box around a group of different units and move them together. It gets really annoying having to individually select units when you have a large convoy.

Kind of wish the viggen had a waypoint menu like the 14. It often gets confused which waypoints it needs to load if multiple players are placing waypoint markets on the map.

I think it might still have to do with jester and his behavior once you have a target STT locked, whether it be PAL or another method. It seems that is the situation I CTD the most. With a human RIO, I never have crashes even when STT locking.

Can I get some clarification on what exactly changed with the Viggen’s custom cartridge feature? I’m at work and can’t start up DCS right now

just happened to me when STT locking with jester. Did not use PAL, STT locked using the menu. Getting really frustrated with this...might take a break from the 14 for a little while

The current system of putting of loading waypoints from the kneeboard can be pretty clunky in a multiplayer environment with a bunch of people placing markers. A lot of the times, the player does not know which waypoints are being entered. It could be the marker they just put down, or one another player placed. It can be pretty annoying at times. My proposal is to give the Viggen a menu type waypoint system like is currently in the f14. From this menu, which only allows for waypoint entry, it will list all markers on the map and allow the player to choose which marker goes with each waypoint. Details: It's pretty much a copy paste from the F-14's waypoint menu. When players open it up, they will be given three options: 1. Normal waypoints (when selected would list B waypoints) 2. Target waypoints (when selected would list M waypoint options) 3. Special waypoints (for the RB-15, etc). When the player selects one of these options, they can pick which waypoint they want entered, then manually choose coordinates from markers on the map. It would be extremely easy to implement, since you already have the system in the 14. Example: I place 2 markers on the map named "MobiSev WP1" and "MobiSev WP2". I want WP1 to be a normal waypoint and WP2 to be a target waypoint. To do this I would open the waypoint menu, select normal waypoints, select B1 option, then select "MobiSev WP1". For the target, i would open the menu, select target waypoints, select M2, then select "MobiSev WP2". After this, I would just need to insert the cartridge and type in 9099 like normal. I believe this system would be much more user friendly and would be much less annoying than is currently in game. Plus, there's no more having to name markers B1, B2, etc and having the system potentially get confused when others are also putting waypoint markers on the map.

with Jester, might have something to do with him switching to P-STT? idk at this point

Has TWS Auto been implemented yet? If not, is there a time frame we might see it?

[NO BUG] Nose wheel steering still not working
MobiSev replied to 71st_Mastiff's topic in Bugs and Problems
Is this after you knelt with the tomcat? -
It seems to crash generally when i get closer to the enemy. It might be something to do with the jester files in that situation.
-
Well...it’s not working then on all the servers I joined
-
Is there a server setting you need to enable to give the pop up in the F14 asking the pilot for permission to join as RIO? If so, what is it and how do you enable it? The only server I’ve seen that this works is 104th. If code is required to edit a mission file, can you post what you did if you own a server?

Is it purely a glider? Or does it have some form of propulsion?
-
This is why I like playing on Steam
-
Is anyone else having a problem with this in multiplayer? Aren’t we supposed to get a window pop up for us to accept or deny them?
-
Yeah it’s kind of weird that he doesn’t at least say something like, “tracking 2 bandits”

How much RAM do you have? Also, try reducing graphics quality

I’ve been meaning to get more RAM for a while now, but I haven’t really felt the urgency until last night. Man, my performance took more of a hit than I was expecting. Just ordered 16 more GB RAM.
