[RESOLVED]AI Aircraft Detection of SAMs and Ground Units
MobiSev replied to Shadow KT's topic in Bugs and Problems
Detecting SAM Radars is fine for all modern aircraft as they have RWRs. Also, I would be fine with having a "cone" in front of AI aircraft (not players) that have air-to-ground radar/targeting pods that detects other ground units and shows them on the map for all to see (would simulate the ai using the air-to-ground radar/targeting pod). However, there are others that I believe should not be able to detect non-SAM vehicles at all unless very close to the ground, such as tankers... and the AWACS models we have in the game at the moment (although I might be wrong about the AWACS part). Detecting units while they are flying closer to the ground would simulate the pilots physically being able to see the units, but they should not be able to detect ground units, showing them on the map for the team's tactical commander, when flying at high altitude. -
Anyone else having problems with dropping a bomb on a target that your WMD7 pod isn't actually lasing itself? For example, I have a target pod on but a JTAC is lasing an enemy: 1. The bomb settings: the same laser code as the laser source is set on the ground, drop mode is in CCRP (Auto), nose fusing is set 2. The pod is the same code as source and same as the bomb 3. laser search on the pod picks the laser from the JTAC perfectly fine 4. I will press the designate button to update my CCRP target (The WMD7 pod itself is still not lasing, just designating the release point) 5. I fly to the target and release the bomb at the correct time 6. The bomb releases correctly, but no boom on target. I know the bomb released (i felt it), was the correct code (same as JTAC laser source), I dropped on a target that was being lased at the correct time (pod was picking up the laser via laser search and drop point was designated), and fusing was set. I do not know what I am doing wrong or if this is a bug. Is anyone else having problems similar to mine?

Thank you so much! Turning on manual lase mode usually makes the laser fire constantly, but sometimes it won't. I was really getting frustrated due to this
-
This is not true in my experience. Right click works to tell the unit to follow the waypoints, not cancel them. If right click is supposed to cancel the waypoint, then this is a bug.

Thank you!!

Yeah, but try loading more. It will go right back to being bugged after the DTC is updated

I had just done a repair. I will try a clean reinstall and see if that works, but I suspect it is not a problem on my end

Do not swap to CCIP when you have the WMD7 pod on
MobiSev replied to MobiSev's topic in JF-17 Thunder
I know it’s broken and not something I am doing bc on a new life, restarting the game/computer I do not touch the mode and it is still stuck in CCIP. If I have bombs, etc. that do not have CCIP as a mode (the glide bombs, laser rockets), it works like normal. However, as soon as I load something that has the possibility to go into CCIP, broken. -
Do not swap to CCIP when you have the WMD7 pod on
MobiSev replied to MobiSev's topic in JF-17 Thunder
It will not fix it at all. I have restarted the sim, restarted the computer, etc. and still broken. I cannot use the pod with GBUs anymore until this is fixed. -
now restarting my computer does not even work......
-
It will completely break the pod for anything that has CCIP as a mode...as in bug break the pod, not "accurate to the simulation" break the pod. You will no longer be able to get out of the CCIP view in the pod when in SP mode, and restarting the game/computer will not fix it. https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=4186848&postcount=6

insane...now restarting the game does not even fix the problem anymore.....

1. ^^ "Normal SP" view before I enable CCIP 2. ^^I can move the camera where i want to at the moment using control inputs (still in SP mode) 3. ^^ Here are my settings 4. ^^ I swap to CCIP 5. ^^ In SP, the camera on the pod no longer focuses on the normal SP view...which is expected because it is in CCIP. Instead, the camera focuses on the calculated impact point of the bomb, which, once again is fine...I am in CCIP. I cannot control the camera which is ok as it would not make sense to be able to control the camera in CCIP. 6. ^^ I swap back to "Auto" 7. ^^I am no longer in CCIP, so it should return to the view shown in #1, and I should be able to move the camera around....but it does not, and I cannot. It still focuses on the bomb impact point as if it were still in CCIP. In addition, I am unable to move the camera around like I should be able to. #7 will not fix itself. For example, If I were to die, get in a new plane, load bombs, and never enable CCIP on that life, it would still be stuck at #7 above. Nothing I do, other than restarting the game, will fix this....and even that will not work sometimes, so I will have to straight up restart the computer... Also, in all of the pictures above, the WMD7 pod is the sensor of interest as noted by the * , so that is not the problem.

no...read above. I'm saying I literally cannot control the pod anymore when in SP after putting it in CCIP. Control inputs do not work when i try to slew the pod around in SP, switching back to auto from ccip does not work, switching to "slav" mode back to SP does not work. I will post pictures though

Some of the ammo trucks are broken and do not rearm players on FARPs, even though they do rearm troops in the field. For example, the only ammo truck that rearms players landed on FARPs for the blue team is the really low resolution M-818. The Ural-375, if placed on the blue coalition will not rearm blue players...even though the same unit would rearm red players if placed on the red coalition. Other ammo trucks, like the KrAZ-6322 rearm troops in the field....but do not rearm players on FARPs for either team. This does not make sense. All ammo trucks should have the ability to rearm players of the same team on FARPs. Also, it seems like it would be a fairly quick fix, simply adding the unit name variables in the FARP.lua file [RESOURCE_AMMO] lines for both sides.

Think of the TCS on the F-14. When dropping a bomb in CCIP with the 14, the TCS will focus on the estimated impact point of the bomb. The same thing will happen with the WMD7 pod (which is fine). My issue is that when I take it off of CCIP, I should regain the ability to slew where the pod looks. However, the view in SP mode will be "stuck" as if it were still in the CCIP. The pod will focus on the waypoint if i switch to slav mode, but when i swap back to SP, the pod will be stuck on the "impact point" view again. Also, I have to actually restart the game to fix it. Simply re-spawning, even leaving and rejoining the server, will not work, even if I do not put my bomb in CCIP in the first place on that life.

I put one of my gbu's in ccip for a second and the pod started focusing on what i guess would be the calculated impact point. When I swiched back to auto, I am no longer able to move the camera the pod when in SP. It will continue act as though it were still in CCIP. Restarting the game will not even fix this...I will still have no control over the pod camera view even if i do not switch to CCIP. The POD's screen is SOI, so this is not the problem. This needs to be fixed as i will need to restart the game to fix it, and even this is not guaranteed to work. Never had this problem until i tried switching to CCIP with the WMD7 pod on the plane. See Post #6 for a detailed walk through of the problem with pictures.

It seems to me that the chaparral has bugged missile tracking. When launched at a target coming head on, the missile will not take an intercept course. Instead, the missile will go behind the target, then make a very high G turn to get back on course. This does not seem to be right. Below are two tracks - one of the Chaparral and one of the Stinger for comparison's sake. Notice the difference. Also....the chaparral's missile seems to phase right through the MiG-21, which is something else to take note of. In the video, you are only using IR SAMs and not Radar SAMs it seems. I have SAMs shoot at JSOWs all the time. For example, if there is a BUK site and some TORs at a base, I have to bring a full set of JSOWs to even have the chance of taking out a base SAM site. Both the BUK and TORs intercept them. I have to launch and fly really close to the base so they start shooting at me first. Even then, they will quickly change targets and intercept all or most of my weapons. I think they changed the behavior of SAMs or something very recently. Although...it does seem that the base defenses react differently to GB6/LS6 where literally EVERYTHING will shoot at them.

Was kind of hoping for the Philippines. This is ok, i guess...but it's free, and im excited about that. Although it's kinda a buzz kill though as it will literally be mostly water.

how big will the map be?
