For my campaigns, I would love to have the AI call out brevity codes with custom voice acting - or just report that they are heading for home after mission is done etc. I can jury-rig a bad solution but I would honestly like a working one where I can just set a repeat trigger for a unit or a group firing a specific weapon or at the very least weapon type. So if UNIT Thunder 2-1 fires a Fox Two, I can then add the custom "Thunder 2-1, Fox two!" to the mission and so on or if Group Thunder 3 launches anti-ship missiles. And yes, I am aware of the workaround using missile in zone but its not sufficient for what I want to do.

Operation Black Bear Campaign for the JF-17 Thunder
JonathanRL replied to JonathanRL's topic in JF-17 Thunder
STATUS ON THE 2.7 UPDATE The progress so far is good. Eight missions has been updated but I may feel the need to back and revisit a few of them. All missions that I marked as updated now has: - Bolt Flight Voicelines - Briefing Maps - 2.7 Weather - More helpful waypoints (e.g waypoints being at ground level in target areas) - Anti Frustration Measures - Some missions - especially Mission 3 and 6 streamlined and updated more to the original vision. - New Units / Updated Units (such as Mi-24P rather than Mi-24V and similar). WHAT IS LEFT TO DO? Mission 9 and 10 needs to be updated. After that, I will do a quick check to make sure all missions have all of the above; adding as required. After that, I will release the update. WHAT IS TAKING SO LONG? I realise that this does not sound as much work and its not. When I do sit down and get to it, the work takes maybe a couple of hours per mission at most. But finding time, motivation and inspiration is vital to me. I am trying to make this campaign up to par with Desert Thunder, not just add the new weather. I want it to benefit from what I learned about mission creation. I also am one of only two people who make Campaigns for my Squadron so that takes up a lot of that time and effort. WHATS NEXT? I have not decided yet. A Campaign for the Mirage F1 is absolutely in the cards, same with a Campaign for the MB 339. Both are projects I really want to support and that I could make work with a Campaign. That does not mean I have given up on the JF-17; rather I have more ideas. One of them is the JF-17 on the Marianas in a Falklands style scenario but where you defend the Islands from a Carrier-borne force. The second is about the involvement of Kuban Security in the Syrian Civil War. The third is to make a Red Flag Campaign but with the Pakistani Air Force flying the Jeff over Nevada. I have also ideas for a Mosquito Campaign set in post-war Cyprus but I am not very handy with those assets so it may wait. -
Does the JF-17 have an official campaign that I'm missing?
JonathanRL replied to fergrim's topic in JF-17 Thunder
Black Bear is due for an upgrade and I made it my personal goal to get the update out during the winter holidays so hopefully, you will be able to replay it with 2.7 Improvements soon. Thunder Strike is indeed the official campaigns, Black Bear and Desert Thunder are just my personal works and found on the ED User Files. -
Operation Black Bear Campaign for the JF-17 Thunder
JonathanRL replied to JonathanRL's topic in JF-17 Thunder
Yeah, in all the hectic of getting a new job and moving and a bunch of other stuff, I completely forgot about updating this Campaign. I will see what I can do to get it through the door at the best opportunity but I am past trying to give any sort of promises. I know the one that currently is in works well enough but I also know it can be better and it will. Thanks for your patience. -
Allow us to mark a zone in the ME as a No Fly Zone for either coalition
JonathanRL replied to JonathanRL's topic in Wish List
I was not being specific enough. Sorry. The draw tool is good for players but AI will still happily enter the No Fly Zone or cross the border for whatever reasons. I would like a trigger or unit state that forbids a specific or all AI Units to enter or leave a specific zone. This is AFAIK not possible today. -

Yep, other missiles also seems to work fine for me at the moment, thanks. -

Operation Black Bear Campaign for the JF-17 Thunder
JonathanRL replied to JonathanRL's topic in JF-17 Thunder
I have not forgotten about this but I have been very busy in my personal life, as well as making Campaigns for my Squadron. Just want to keep you updated. Currently working on Mission 7. Hopefully, the rest of the missions will not require as extensive modifications "behind the hood" as some of the others. -
Could we have a no fly zone for the mission editor?

I love this idea, especially in order to simulate the Container on the Nevada Map. -
Heatblur Update - Supersize Me & Public Roadmap
JonathanRL replied to Cobra847's topic in Heatblur Simulations
For a Campaign Maker, having to include 8 different skins when the planes otherwise look pretty much the same is alas not feasible. -
Heatblur Update - Supersize Me & Public Roadmap

So happy that you have not forgotten about the AI Draken. Of course I will always hope for a full fidelity release of that plane. *nudges Heatblur with a very long stick* Also, Dynamic numbers for the Viggen will be a godsend. I did not look forward to having to include eight different skins in my next Viggen Campaign Project. -
TU 140 Cruise Missiles are jumping around in the air. They do not hit the intended targets. Similar behavior is shown with TU 95 and B-52H Cruise Missiles. B-52H Harpoons also behave in a strange way. They launch fine but seldom track the target, just flying over it until crash or shot down.

Operation Black Bear Campaign for the JF-17 Thunder
JonathanRL replied to JonathanRL's topic in JF-17 Thunder
Okey so with Desert Thunder 2.7 out the door, I will revisit Black Bear and since I am the person I am, the campaign will receive an overhaul. I am simply not pleased with the quality currently and will make sure the Campaign has the basics I come to expect from myself. That being "Skip Mission" function, Briefing Flight Map and more efficient triggers as well as mission specific fixes (for example making Mission 3 take less time to play) I do not have any time estimate of when this will be done but know that is being worked upon. -

Operation Desert Thunder Campaign for the JF-17 Thunder
JonathanRL replied to JonathanRL's topic in JF-17 Thunder
The Campaign has been updated to 2.7 Standard. DCS World 2.7 is now a requirement to fly this Campaign. This morning (16th of April 2021) I updated the Campaign to 2.7.1 - taking advantage of new triggers, your aim now needs to be true on mission 9. Very happy that Eagle Dynamics allowed us to have different shapes on zones; been a long time coming. -
Operation Desert Thunder Campaign for the JF-17 Thunder
JonathanRL replied to JonathanRL's topic in JF-17 Thunder
I had Operation Black Bear in the installation folder since I made it. It has never been removed or changed with patches. That would only affect files the DCS Updater is updating, removing or replacing. Any other files are untouched. The only downside is the above mentioned problems with Steam installations where Steam is wondering why you have DLC they cannot find in their store. -
Damn. That looks good!

Is it too late to ask for dynamic tail numbers for the standard skins?
