  1. Not sure why you would want FC3 level model of the F-3 since those older aircraft already have simple systems to learn. Plus the majority of the customer base for something like this is going to want it as a full fidelity module that flies just like the real thing did.
  2. Unfortunately anything that is related to electronic warfare is going to have classified systems. The only way around it is going to be when those technologies become obsolete enough to be declassified. So your best bet for electronic warfare aircraft is going to be the older aircraft like the F3D Skyknight or early variants of the EA-6 Prowler.
  3. That is partially true. The head gasket problems were limited to the none turbo 2.5L EJ models because the gaskets used in those particular engines had a graphite coating that would break down over time causing the leaks. But the turbo models used a multi layer metal gaskets instead that did not have the same issues. If a turbo model does develop a head gasket leak it was because it was modified with out a proper tune or because of poor maintenance. Old coolant can became corrosive that will start to eat away at the metal head gaskets. Below is a picture of a failed gasket where you can see that the graphite coating came off.
  4. Its kinda ironic how the F-4EJ variant name will be easy to remember for me since it reminds me of a different Japanese made product. The EJ series of Subaru engines found in the early WRX and STIs. lol
  5. That is an excellent idea and concept that few have though of until this thread came up.Why not combine what is currently available like AI as the instructor, a basic F-5 as the trainer and and a flight training curriculum in military aviation all rolled up into a starter pack aimed at newbies that are genuinely interested in a military aviation.
  6. "Since DCS is a combat game I don’t know that most players come here with the intent of fully training at it like a real world pilot would. They come here to make stuff go boom and the realistic flying and operation things come later if that piques their interest. " There are several other arcade style flight combat games out there that far better attract those that just want to jump in and have fun and making stuff go boom. Most people that are attracted to DCS are a little more serious about military aviation than those of big AAA arcade war games. "There are third parties who make AI flying school add-ons for the civy sims. Maybe they could be interested in adapting those to DCS but my guess is that there wouldn’t be enough interest in this player base." For once you have a good idea and suggestion. Someone defiantly needs to develop something like a starter pack that comes with an AI flying school with a military training path in mind add-on and a trainer aircraft of some sort. I am sure that a starter pack module would be far more attractive than the current Flamming Cliffs 3 for those with little experience that are seriously interested in military aviation. "I hate to plug other games but one of those civy sims has a free demo and flight school stuff which if you want to simply learn that without the temptation to shoot things it’s worth a go. To broaden your horizons and such." Although a good suggestion this would just turn off some if they have to spend money on something that isn't quite what they are looking for. In a way DCS is losing interest and future potential costumers by not offering an in house training program.
  7. Something like the KC10 would attract a lot of new people to DCS like airline sim players as well as real airline pilots that would be interested to see how it is to fly a DC-10 based tanker with a good flight model and actual missions other then just point to point travel.
  8. Not sure if your aware but the La-7 is currently in development by OctupusG. https://forum.dcs.world/forum/1087-dcs-la-7/

    F-16A

The main issue with the F-16C is that it can't be used in Cold War era scenarios. The Cold War era is currently the most fleshed out with a far better selection of redfore opponents than BVR. So in a way the F-16A would be far more useful in older scenarios. Check out the below video for more details as to why the Cold war makes more sense for DCS.
  10. For those that may have not seen the latest video from Phenom yet, here is his new Vietnam era video he posted 2 weeks ago. What is so appealing about the Vietnam era is how much of a sandbox it will be especially with the new aircraft on the horizon like the F-100 Super Saber, F-4 Phantom, Mig- 17, A-1 Skyraider, A-6 Intruder, F-104 Starfighter, A-7 Corsair II, C-130, H47 Chinook and the OH-58 Kiowa.
  11. The Viggen also has a working jammer that the Grim Reapers did some testing on.
  12. I just recently saw this video from 8 months ago and I discovered a brief conversion between VNAO lead developer on the T-45 and Wags in the comments. MattWagner We have not been approached to make this an official module. particleman2579 As the lead dev for the VNAO T-45 module that's not exactly the case Wags. It's a shame that you are publicly commenting that we never approached you to make it an official module. We would have loved to have continued to work towards a retail module but it just didn't work out that way. Hope that clears a few details up straight from the source. MattWagner We never received a formal submission. You have been and will always be free to do so. You can PM me on our forum and I will send you the submission guidelines. Kind regards and best of luck. After that the channel creator was going to try to arrange a meeting between everyone: "let’s get together in Discord for a couple of minutes. This either has potential or needs to be closed. ~Juice" Since then I have not found more info of what may have come from that meeting.
  13. Dude, everyone here has pretty much explained it to you plain and simple on why a Naval trainer is a good ideal.. Just because you see it easy for you personally DOES NOT apply to everyone else. Just like I could say driving a manual car is easy for me personally, it is not necessarily going to apply to everyone else. And as much I am for all cars being manual the majority of the American car market thinks other wise. I suggest you stop imposing your personal views on others as it being the only way.
  14. This is the very reason why VNAO created the T-45C Goshawk as a free module. See the below interview with them giving the reason why at 31:17min. Up until its release there really was not an ideal trainer that prepared someone for carrier ops. Trying to learn carrier ops while also trying to operate a complex fighter like the Tomcat or Hornet as a newbie is not ideal. Heck it took me a lot of practice in the Tomcat before I was able to consistently land on deck with out issues. Which by the way it took way longer than the free trial period would had allowed. And when you are training for something like carrier ops it is crucial to stick with the same aircraft to have consistency. So jumping from the Hornet to the Tomcat just to keep using free trails is just going to delay the training as the newbie has to learn a whole different aircraft and get used to how it flies totally different than the previous aircraft. In my personal experience I still struggle trying to land the Hornet on a trap successfully because I have gotten so used to how the Tomcat feels and handles.
  15. I just saw the newest DCS Vietnam theme video that Phenom posted a day ago. It was a beautiful thing to see all of the aircraft that were used in that conflict in action. With the F-4 Phantom and the F-100 and A-6 Intruder on the way a Vietnam map would have the potential of countless mission possibilities more than the average map.
  16. This has also been my observation from many comments I have read else where. Some of which are by actual airline pilots.
  17. That is true but DCS will have the C-130 coming in the not to distant future which will kick of the beginning of the Logistics Simulator portion. jaja It will be very interesting to see how popular it will become and how much it will grow with plenty of Logistics mission sets that will follow from the community and new comers attracted to this new mission type.
  18. The ironic thing is that DSC is not quite that realistic of a SIM without those non combat logistical military support aircraft that keep the combat aircraft fueled and maintained with a steady supply of spare parts.
  19. In my opinion the C-2 Greyhound would make for some very interesting cargo missions because of its carrier ops capability more than the average fixed wing cargo aircraft. Here is one of the best C-2 documentaries I have seen of what it takes to train and be certified to fly the Greyhound.
  20. I totally understand your wishes. The F-15C is one of the first jets I bought years ago but have only flown it twice because I just could not deal with the limited cockpit interactions and simplified flight model. It just did not feel right. Since then I have stuck only with full fidelity modules like the F-14 and Viggen being my top favorites. So if you like the F-15 that much then you will just have to make due with the F-15E from Razbam or other FF modules in the mean time. And just in case you are unaware the F-4E Phantom will be one of the new FF modules that should be released next.
  21. It seems like your looking for a simplified game/sim experience that will be fulfilled by MAC (Modern Air Combat) which is currently in development by ED. However that game will be limited to a set list of simplified aircraft to start with. Until then you are just going to have to do like real fighter pilots do and stick to just one aircraft that is simple enough to learn all of its systems to be certified in. Thats why I love the Viggen jaja 14 exceptional combat aircraft from the United States, Russia, China and Czech Republic. Shallow learning curve with consistent key controls between aircraft, and easy to fly with just a keyboard. Professional level flight models, but with option for forgiving flight dynamics. Play instant action, single missions and campaigns for most aircraft in single player or fly online. Supports Virtual Reality like Oculus Rift, HTC Vive and Windows Mixed Reality. Includes the Caucasus map and portions of Nevada and the Persian Gulf. Purchase MAC aircraft individually or as a pack at a reduced price. Flaming Cliffs 3 owners can purchase the MAC pack at a great discount. 22. I am not sure of the feasibility of doing a Super Hornet. But I do remember reading that Matt Wagner had been trying to do the Legacy Hornet for years. It finally all came to fruition when ED got a license and access to enough data to make a full fidelity module possible. I mention this because in a lot of cases it just isn't possible until all of the stars line up.
  23. I recently saw this new video that Enigma did about how the up coming Mig-23 is actually going to be the ideal Russian jet to fill a big gap in the Redfore side.
  24. That is true but with the new MT update people are seeing a substantial improvement in FPS in both 2D and VR. Therefore his system might now be able to run DCS just fine at low resolution settings.
  25. First of all what are your current PC specs? In case you are not up to date, ED recently put out a beta multi threading update for DCS to make better use of the CPU's processing power.
