That 21cm fan could explain your lower temps!! I had my rig built for me; but if i could make the decision over again I would have built it myself....the guy who did it did a crappy job at cable management. BS probably tops out at around 6 ghz IMO... if not 8ghz!! Not sure what the practical diff is between E0 and C0... but i've read that power cons. and temps are very different... Perhaps the FSB speed as well??

There is also a 'forward or rear hemisphere' aspect button/switch i believe, maybe that is the problem.... in any case read the manual.

What program are you using to monitor temps? I had my E8500 @ 3.4 with stock cooler and running BS it got up to high 50's C. I knocked it back down to 3.3 just till my vendetta arrives. I use CoreTemp to monitor my cpu.

Thanks... this video was partly to show off the excellent canadian skin, but i spent a lot of time doing the editing and learning things. Already hard at work on my next video... will hopefully include text, credits, effects and music!

Nice write up Ivan!! Other than the info on HDG Hold, very well presented. re: HDG Hold, from the manual... "When in flight director mode, the task of the pilot is to maintain the angular position of the helicopter with the cyclic and the altitude with the collective by using the directors indicated on the HUD and ADI. This mode is most often used instead of automatic enroute flight. To disengage the automatic mode and enable director control, it is necessary to press the "ДИР УПР” (FLT DIR) push-light on the Autopilot panel. By disengaging automatic control, the automatic angular stabilization is disabled but damping remains for all channels. " I'm 90% certain that by 'all channels' they mean HDG and Alt channels. Somebody correct me if im wrong.

i notice a big difference in quality on YT @ half size. also im not worried about HDD size.

I use Fraps (which i had to pay for) to capture, VirtualDub (which is free @ virtualdub.org) to compress, and I use the free Xvid codec in Vdub to encode with. I used to use WindowsMovieMaker, and tried the trial version of Vegas, but didn't like the quality in either. If i could get the simplicity of WMM in vdub, i would be laughing... BTW, i capture in full definition, (1680x1050), so at times i could have up to 80 GB of vid which mostly gets deleted immediately. After compression, a 5 minute video is around 700-800 mb in size. I do NOT have to resize to get it on youtube, and anyone can play the HD version there. For an example of my latest video, check the thread on this forum 'Canadian Camo Vid' and tell me what you think of the quality. Yes, you can change the level of the boresight... gimme a minute to come up with a screenshot and description. Whoops, no you cant!! You can change the Rocket and GunPod ballistic data settings so they will hit higher or lower, but not your Cannon... My bad.

A hidden secret the developers put into games/movies... secret items, levels or maps, etc... Like eggs at an Easter Egg Hunt for children!!

Using CPU Z, it shows me my cpu is; Stepping A, Revision E0... But i will definately take your advise and slowly take it up, I may quit at 3.8 or go a little further. It is a new chip, and I am going to upgrade it soon again anyway, I just want to play with it a little, as its my first time OC'ing!

It probably saves trying to find switches behind your elbow in the dark!! I know I've mapped mine to my stick for that very reason.

I *think* that installing as administrator and placing the game outside of 'program files' directory is what fixed my problems...when i had placed the sim in 'prog files' dir. i could not even alter the graphics.cfg or the sim would crash on startup. (Does your DCS shortcut have that little 'shield' icon on the lower right hand side?? My shortcut does not because I installed with admin rights.) I cannot run the sim with the GFX-'fullscreen' box checked either...not sure why! I hear talk that the UAC headaches will be handled better in Windows7....

I think the key command for shaky cam is Alt + J; its there, and it works...

Perhaps the reason is that the wind is perpendicular to your aircraft/you are not facing the wind. If your track is set up the same as Shrubbo's, and the wind is moving to your right side (east if you are facing north) and you are pulling a lot of power and dropping it back off...when you pull that power your blades still go through gyroscopic precession; do they not?? Maybe an experienced RL rotary wing pilot could explain better... This is a curiosity, I can hardly wait for an informative answer!
