  1. Pm'd and emailed for my order of the PointCTRL! Can hardly wait, unfortunately won't be home to set it up till the end of summer... Great work on this device, thanks for your time on this product Miles!
  2. Dump fuel to get to landing weight. I will bring up my TO/Landing checklist, figure out how much fuel needs to be dumped. Say I have 9000 lbs fuel, and need to dump 4000 lbs to land; I will set bingo fuel to 5000 lbs and hit the fuel dump switch. It will automatically stop at the set bingo state, and the chime and "bingo" call lets me know I can land. edit: at that weight you will need to jettison stores as well
  3. F/A-18 Would imagine it works for all A/C tho I haven't tested.
  4. In multiplayer, I nearly always make radio 2 my ADF radio. I'll tune it to the AWACS, and anytime another player asks for "bogey dope", I get an indication of their direction. ( wings must be level for it to be accurate) It helps with SA a little... Also use it to find gas.
  5. If you have a rough idea of where the target is, you can drop in CCIP mode and the bomb will pick up the laser. Much easier than punching in a coord for every target. I'm setting up training missions for myself to get some altitude/speed parameters nailed down. Here's a good video on entering manual waypoints
  6. It has realistic FFB Ie, no shaking
  7. Same mav-f behavior here... If I click cage/uncage enough it will eventually slew back to boresight. It seems wonky, but is a WIP
  8. Great job on the box! Why resistors on the switches?
  9. add me to the list please! This looks amazing MilesD
  10. Great work, Miles! I think I'll be reaching out for this soon.
  11. Did not see any posts about this company yet, so thought I'd let y'all know about it. http://www.feelthree.com/ I think this is a very innovative design for a motion sim platform. The design keeps costs much lower than other platforms, and range of movement seems much larger than most. The units can be had for as low as $2800 USD.
  12. Happens quite often here as well... Haven't found any workaround for it.
  13. I managed to merge two sticks without mounts. i used the 4 pillar-like holes on the corners of the stick, bored them out a little and ran threaded rod thru both sticks with nuts to tighten them together. this required a little filing on the bottom 'feet' of the sticks where they come together, but was very solid! I'm sorry i cant find my old pictures of this...
  14. EDIT, sorry bad links to pics. Here are a couple pics of the projector running in 1080P. The screen size is 68", the pj throw distance is 9' 4" right now, and I sit around 7' from the screen. When I have time to finish the room, those distances/sizes will be a little higher, but its a temporary setup for now. So, I have no problems seeing gauge numbers, or text on web pages.
  15. I have just tested the HD20 i picked up today and am really impressed. Couldn't be happier... bought it used off craigslist for $600!
  16. I'm currently shopping for a projector, will hopefully pick up an Optoma HD20 today. (1080p native) Right now I have the BenQ MW712, which will do 1080p, but is 720p native, and I've found the picture quality is lacking in DCS, FSX, and movies I've watched. If I wanted to spend a little extra money, ($1500 cdn) I would get the Optoma HD33 which is 1080p, 3d ready.
  17. Thanks for the info! After taking the two MSFFB's apart and planning how I will join them, it almost seems like they were meant to be attached to each other! Very excited to start this project this weekend. Unfortunately I will only have a little time over the next 3 days, and then I'm off to work for another 2 weeks.... so will likely have to finish then.
  18. Thanks for the answers! I will definately be using a counterweight after giving it some more thought. What is the FFB testing program that you are using?
  19. Peter, Thanks for the inspiration! I was going to do something a little different to increase the force in my MSFFB2, but I am going to use your method now. Be ready for many questions! Two questions now: Is the counterweight absolutely necessary, or can you do without it? Is the force enough to keep your Cougar handle solid when trimming in BS2? (its hard to see in the video)
  20. Agreed!... TIR also has a robust user base that I'm sure will see to the continued sales and development of TIR6 and beyond. I know that I will be getting a Kinect for PC, and if it happens to replace my TIR4, then so be it. I'm already trying to figure out where to mount the kinect... difficult because its a large peripheral.
  21. Glad to see the trimmer for forcefeedback sticks is back to normal!! I can fly again!
  22. The kinect also has a mic, so there is a possibility of voice control as well. I would much prefer to NOT have to wear a clip to have my head tracked, I'm anxious to see if this will work as good as TIR4.
  23. I also have the "pitch-up after trim" problem here with my MSFFB2... very dissapointed. Also, there doesn't seem to be a "\DCS Black Shark 2\Config\producer.cfg" in my install?! I couldn't find it while checking to see if FFB was enabled.
  24. Congratulations on 100 pages Trigger!! Eagerly waiting for pictures of your force trim mechanisms!
