  1. Try loosening the spring by using a ZipTie(or ZapStrap, whatever you call them) to tighten a couple coils together. I used two zipties on my X52 and it worked well.
  2. I think that many modders may be having too much fun flying right now!
  3. There's 6 of us? Who had the baby?!
  4. After spending a couple days flying the DODOSim 206, I can positively say this is THE heli to fly!! (in FSX that is!! heheh) Flying this thing has made me realize how easy life is in the Shark, with all the dampener's and autohover, autopilot, and contra-rotating rotors! I'll post pics and/or a short vid later, if I have time... ;) I am finally experiencing full-blown ETL, something never seen before in an FSX addon to my knowledge. I hope to use the DODO to help me get better at handling a chopper, which I hope helps me get a headstart when DCS:Apache arrives!!
  5. I use mediafire.com, although i dont know how 'permanent' they are!
  6. Have you tried the newest nvidia drivers? I'm curious to see of they have activated SLI in BlackShark like they state they do!
  7. Is that compared to your cockpit? Why not post some pics of your setup and let us judge your pit....I hope it has more than 72 switches!! :D BTW, Welcome to the forums!!
  8. Thanks for the input, I havent heard a bad review about this thing yet....and I just talked the boss into letting me get this bird!! (and by talk, I mean drove her to the wine country for a day to visit some vineyards!! This thing cost me! :pilotfly:)
  9. the manual... Well, after consulting with my better half and mother of my child, I have been informed that I can buy the Dodosim206 as soon as the Devil wears a toque and learns to iceskate!! To make matters worse, I've come across the manual (88pages) which details the physics modelled in the 206. It appears that the creators had to develop a brand new physics engine (external to the FSX airfile) that makes the bird fly realistically! An excerpt from the manual:
  10. I have these shadows as well, only under cloudy conditions. I haven't seen the beach flashes you mention tho. So far have been unable to solve this problem(other than removing clouds altogether). I use a GTX260core216
  11. I have been waiting for this bird for a long time...finally advanced helicopter flight dynamics and persistent wear and tear in FSX!!! http://www.dodosim.com/index.html Like all good addons for FSX it is expensive...I will post a review here soon. **EDIT** I see there is a Huey Dodosim(Vietnam era) coming soon as well, I may wait and buy that instead!
  12. Looks amazing!! Post more pics when you have time!!
  13. Love this new Sharkpit!! thanks again tango!!
  14. Heh, made the same mistake myself; etherealN has it right!
  15. Welcome to the forum Chris! Thanks for the tip; you might as well post it for anyone reading through. Rep for not making your first post read "How to trim/land/fire the Black Shark!!"
  16. Have you assigned a repeating key press to a rotary or the mode switch?
  17. Welcome to the forums! With that stick I would recommend using the in-game controller options. I have the MS FFB2 and thats what i do.
  18. Well, "ran out of stock" sounds like good news! I will be checking LD and posting back here when it gets in. Thanks again, Jim!!
  19. I have the answer to your problems: the answer it PEBKAU.
  20. I believe you want to disable User Account Control.
  21. I would give you mine, but you could program your own in less time than it would take you to memorize my convoluted, half-baked, over-complicated, sideways, mashed up attempt at a pr0file!! seriously tho, its fun making your own!
  22. Yes i've read the accusim is a must...so you can buy the P-47 first, and then upgrade to accusim? I also bought the 3D lights package from A2A, and it is quite cool...i can now see street lighting from a distance away, nice effects, you can choose the type light glow, etc... All in all, I spent about $70 in addons and will be spending another $70-100 on a few fsx addons(and $120 for a new harddrive); I would hope that some enterprising people see the market for some DCS addons!! @ Oban, Hitman is correct, change the service you are trying to connect to!! I use #2 for any north american destinations!
