I tried it out today and it's pretty cool. Definitely some bugs as you guys mentioned. I think troop transport missions will be a lot more fun if they hop out automatically when you land though. Fumbling with radios when dropping off troops in a hot LZ sounds like a recipe for disaster. I'm sure it would be possible to do that with triggers, right?

I'm not too familiar with the MSI mobo, but the differences between the Maximus and the Prime that was suggested earlier are: Maximus supports 4133MHz RAM, Prime supports 3866MHz Maximus has 2 more PCIe slots, one more 3.0 and one more 2.0 Maximus has a few more USB ports (all USB 3.0 IIRC) Maximus is slightly smaller (physically) Maximus supports 6 fans, 3 more than the Prime Maximus supports THREE GPU's, Prime supports two If you really need those extra features, sure, get the Maximus. Otherwise, save yourself $100 bucks and get the Prime. That's my $0.02 after having recently built a new PC. Have fun researching though! It's honestly one of the funnest parts of building IMO.

I have 5 things on my SSD: Windows, DCS World 1.5, DCS World 2.1, P3D v3.4, and P3D v4. Even with a high-ish end rig (i7-7700K, GTX 1070) I was getting stutters. Installing my flight sims on the SSD eliminated them entirely. I think you'll be very pleased with your new purchase :)

Also, how do you even set this up? Do I need to the set any particular state for the troops or just land next to any AI infantry unit and load them via the radio menu?

That's sad to hear. When did an MP crash occur? Was it the server or the client that crashed?

I dunno about that last part, but the first part is definitely true. The ED, KSP and P3D forums are the ones I visit most. I was actually given permission to use company time (with an appropriate charge number) to do P3D v4 beta testing when things on my program were in "hurry up and wait" mode.

Shh...they think this is a tactical aviation news website. In all seriousness, LM has some of the weirdest policies, and they vary a bit by program (as does the level of enforcement). In all actuality I really don't spend THAT much time on the forums anyway...usually just during breaks. I have a coworker that spends 6+ hours of his 9 hour work day on Imgur, YouTube, and Reddit and no one bats an eye.

The only thing I can think of is that maybe because those sites show penises? Could be construed as viewing porn at work maybe? Hell if I know...

No, but nothing in any article that I've seen there specifies circumstances, weapons used, ranges, etc. I don't know what they have to gain either, but they've gotten plenty of other things wrong, to include direct quotes. And I don't just mean CNN, they've all done it at one point or another. I don't need to :music_whistling:

Maybe that would be true had it not allegedly dropped munitions near coalition/coalition backed forces. At this point, unless you read an official DOD or USN report that specifies what occurred, everyone should just assume that the news has it wrong. They can't get articles about civilian/commercial aviation right, why would anyone trust them to report on tactical aviation correctly?

I know we're all DCS users here, but don't sell yourself short by not getting some of the other fantastic titles available for the steam summer sale.
