  1. I'm not sure what Russian SOP is for their carrier but IIRC the USN requires at least 15 or 20 knots of wind over deck via a combination of natural wind and generated wind. 25 to 30 knots is WoD is more prototypical, however.
  2. Tested and confirmed last night on my end as well. To be thorough I flew it with the keyboard (with my Warthog and pedals unplugged) to verify it wasn't a calibration issue...Nose yaws like it's at a 1929 swing dance party.
  3. In the latest update the master caution doesn't always have a tone. From what I can tell, it entirely random and it will sound maybe once every 10 times that a caution is triggered. This occured in single player and on a private multiplayer server. Anyone else experience this?
  4. I confirmed this bug still exists in the latest update.
  5. Somebody owes a case of beer to the EES shop :)

And not a single RTFM to be found...shockingly different from another community I'm sure many of you are also familiar with... :music_whistling: @grunf...big thanks for that tutorial on creating NDBs! I'm always amazed at the flexibility of capability of the mission editor.
  7. Yes I'm well aware. You stated that all block 30/32 had analog FLCC and I've read about ones that had been upgraded to the DFLCC. Whether or not they're in a T&E squadron doesn't change the block so I figured they were free game to talk about. I still haven't found the article I was thinking of though. I think I read it in an FWR article, or maybe an AFIT pub. I'll keep digging for it because it had some cool details on the conversion process, some of the setbacks they encountered, and how they overcame them.
  8. I don't have any tail numbers, but I'll look for the article. It talked about some of the stuff they do/did to the 416th/422nd birds, some of which I think are now in Guard units.
  9. Palace Cobra and Vipers in the Storm are the best IMO. They delve into more than just the fighter pilot part of being a fighter pilot and explore the emotions, the discomfort, the hardships, and the internal struggles that many pilots are faced with on deployments to hostile parts of the world.
  10. Not all Block 30/32 jets are analog.
  11. No clue TBH. I emailed James Thistle yesterday to ask a few questions (namely what effect does the new coating have on the drag coefficient of a slick airplane, and if there is a weight gain/loss). If he emails back I'll ask about field ops and how they intend to make repairs.
  12. Sorry, source is the LM intranet so linking it won't do any good. I'll quote the entirety of the article:
  13. Nevada. A new environment to fly in goes a lot farther than a new module to fly in an old environment IMO.
  14. Good point, I hadn't thought of that.
  15. Pretty much completely false. A fully weaponized Huey can inflict some serious pain, and you get MUCH closer to the action to boot. Add a low level ingress to the AO and missions are not only fun, but challenging and rewarding as well. Oh and when I say low level, think 10' AGL...at 120 knots. It really isn't that hard to learn how to use it effectively IMO. Don't let all the scary switches, knobs, and fancy MFDs scare you...It's actually a fairly simple airplane. There are hundreds of great YouTube videos to walk you through just about anything you could ever want to do. Have fun with your new modules :)
  16. Don't get too excited...I'm pretty sure that's just the current Hornet model with the CoNA scheme.
  17. Yes and no I guess. Since it's a RAM coating and not just paint I don't think it adheres to any particular FS595 color chips. So choosing the particular grey tone for models will be mostly guesswork.
  18. The F-35 will be getting a new, cleaner look. New airplanes will roll out with the new coating starting late second quarter of this year, and older airplanes will be scheduled to get the new coating over time. Apparently the new uniform coating will save $49 million in materials throughout the program lifetime, and save ~128 work hours per airplane.
  19. I'm not as much into the WWII warbirds. I think I'd rather buy one of these: https://www.controller.com/listings/aircraft/for-sale/1403873/1995-canadair-cf5d https://www.controller.com/listings/aircraft/for-sale/1461433/mcdonnell-douglas-ta4j-skyhawk
  20. I love finding out about things that I didn't know I needed. I just pre-ordered it and I already have that "money very well spent" feeling :)
  21. +1 for RPS. John Walker's straightforward reviews of Shadow of Mordor were what finally made me purchase. With just shy of 300 hours played, it is by far my favorite game of all time. At least until Shadow of War comes out
  22. If "Net Enabled Weapons" doesn't give you a tactical aviation woody, I don't know what will. I'm also intrigued to see the GBU-38 on the list. I know it's frequently used on other platforms but I thought I read somewhere that they wanted to go with the GBU-54 full-time and skip -38 integration for cost and resource savings. How old is that slide?
  23. I nearly wept when I saw that they got the A-10C battery issue resolved. Super stoked to go hit the range!
