don't get personal kiwi, i didn't... i'm not going to fight this, there is an issue, it's being acknowledged. it's beyond me some of you keep talking about delta wing drag or data (which you lot don't have anyway) to justify the inability for a FIGHTER to maintain its altitude with 15 degrees alpha even with burner on, and that the only way to recover is to order a down stick to unload the wing, as if the plane was powered by a piston engine... i'm out on this subject, and i'll wait for a module update.

Dassault is a delta specialist... you can talk all the theory you want, please refer the the videos posted in this thread, where you can see for yourself a real 2000 at VERY HIGH AOA, very slow speed, able to sustain lift without the need of burners, AND recover the energy very easily while maintaining a high Alpha and using the post combustion ! Why don't want an over performing plane, just an FM reflecting the reality... even if it costs to the drivers of the other modules, which I suspect is the problem here !

+10000 Thanks for the video, it's the same part of the display's program i mentionned in my previous post, but your sample is of better quality. mad AOA, slow speed.... altitude and attitude maintained without the need of after burner at all. when the burner quicks in, the plane is even able to exit the sequence doing a barrel roll, while our model would be burried in the deck in a similar situation. I agree, our FM is way closer to a Mirage III than a 2000

yes, this is true IRL... not so in DCS since the last flight model was implemented... see at 0:52 and 3:37 in this vid: => slow speed, high incidence... the plane is "seating" on the engine, not dropping altitude alarmingly (not even sure the altitude dropped at all actually)... when AB is applied, it gets out of the nose up attitude without a problem, and shoots off... In DCS, you'd be at the end of a parachute, or with your head in the mud... The video above shows how powerful the mirage is and efficient the FBW is in reality, at slow speeds and high AOA... the module in its current version is miles off afaic...

this RAF pilot seemed to like it ... https://hushkit.net/2016/10/13/mirage-2000-pilot-interview-cutting-it-in-the-electric-cakeslice/ considering what i've personally witnessed 2000s do in meetings, and talks i had with a friend who was a mirage 2000C rdm pilot, i too feel they've made a flying brick out of the module. it doesn't accelerate properly anymore unless in clean configuration, and it can barely take off in "bomb truck" load ! The brakes, and the super 530 are way poorer than they are irl too. my friend would not comment on the RDI radar at all however. All i can tell you is to be super careful with the AOA, and airspeed while dogfighting. forget lead pursuits or you'll end up in the ditch, prefer lag pursuits as to ease off on the stick. the nimble powerful fighter the Mirage is supposed to be, is no more in DCS, and that's that.

the 2.1 was a roller coaster experience for me... overall, the Normandy/assets pack install process was really not up to 2017 standards, alpha or not, and i can understand the frustration expressed on the forum. I installed 2.0 in anticipation of Normandy. then came the 2.1 update. in my case, a 2 mb/s download speed was fine, the update didn't take that long to download. i was of course confronted to the dlc and asset pack not showing in module manager. Eventually found the appropriate dos commands (thanks guys !) and went on to download Normandy and the Asset pack. Activation was easy for the pack, but for the map, i actually had to force my key thru DRM. Then, the first flight came, and since i'm a mirage head, this is the module i used first, then i took out the Spit. The mirage's VTH is flooded with light, you can't even make out the airspeed or the altitude; but i can't wait until this new lightning technology is mastered... The clouds are so realistic, overall the game is simply stunning now... I've not experienced any performance issue so far, all settings are maxxed out, and no problem, no stuttering or other video weirdness.. Thanks ED for Normandy, i hope the over bright lightning is fixed soon for my beloved 2000-C, and in the mean time, i'll train on Normandy with my Spit' :) have a nice day !

sorry if this was replied to previously, i looked, but couldn't find the answer... a couple of friends and myself installed SRS and tested it out in a mission with our Mirages it worked perfectly, but when we tested radio encryption, we had to keep pressing the green button of the UHF radio (red radio) for the encryption to work. in the srs overlay, in the set tab for the uhf radio, we set the encryption, but "enable" remains greyed out... is there anyway to have the encryption ON all the time when the UHF radio is used ? thanks !

Hi ! i'm stuck in mission 13, i get the JTAC Latitude longitude coordinates for the bombing run at WP9, but what should i do with it ? i cannot set a BAD point, should i PREP a new WP in the INS ? thanks..
