  1. Nice find. Thanks for sharing. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
  2. Can I just ask - would you rather have the devs go back and fix all the bugs in the release version, running out of cash in the process, as bug fixes don't generate revenue, and going bust? Or would you rather they focus their limited resources on revenue generating projects, so that the business can survive to fix bugs another day and release new modules ? Given the niche that we find ourselves in, this really is the choice they have to make. I'm sure they realize that updates to both the stable and beta modules are introducing bugs into older modules, but reallocating resources away from the revenue generating modules to fix these just can't be done right now. DCS is a journey, not a destination. Can I suggest focusing on another module while the bugs in the su25t are ironed out? BTW, I don't consider myself a white knight - just a realist who loves virtual aviation. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
  3. In the default view, I cannot read the osbs either. But I also cannot see the complete HUD through the glass in this view either So I zoom the view in somewhat (right shift, right Ctrl and num pad *) until I can see all the HUD marking, at which point I can read the osbs. The side consoles are another issue - I cannot read any of the labels on the dials or button on the radios for eg, even with the VR zoom - not sure what's the cause. I'm using 1024 textures, default VR setting with PPD of 1.8, and there's no ways I can go back to a monitor either. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
  4. While I haven't spent nearly as much time with the MI-8 as I have with the Huey, I find the latter to be more nimble and responsive, and therefore fun to hover. The Mi-8 on the other hand seems to carry a lot of momentum, requiring upfront planning and incremental changes. So IMHO if your buddy wants the experience of a smaller civilian heli, the Huey would be the way to go. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
  5. UH-1H without a doubt. It's the closest there is to a civilian chopper, with the option of blowing stuff up. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
  6. I had the same issue with my Mig21 module - loaded to map only. I contacted Leatherneck support, and they shared a script to clear my registry. Thereafter I reinstalled the module and all was well. I suggest you contact the module owner for support. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk

  8. Hi there, Let me try to help; 1. Advise if I need to install the Saitek software for the X52? Yes and No :) You can configure the buttons directly in DCS, with the only limitation being that you will not have access to the Mode rotary. The problem I experienced with the SST SW was that it was buggy and caused centering issues with the X52 during gameplay, so I had to move off the SST SW and cofigure DCS directly. Now, the reason for the YES above, is that you may need to install the SST SW to get the pinky (shift) button on the joystick to be recognized by DCS. As a test, press the pinky button, and check if the "shift" indicator appears on the throttle LCD (below the MODE label) - if it does, then the pinky is configured for shift states, and you would need to install the SST SW to remove the shift states, before DCS will recognize the pinky. If it does not appear, then you should be able to configure the pinky as a modifier directly in DCS without installing the SST SW. Have a look at the below thread on how to remove the shift states : https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=83215 2. Direct me to diagrams and a profile that is up-to-date for the X52? I used the following to program DCS Directly : https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/upload/iblock/7e7/A-10C_X-52_bindings_Maverick-X2k5_lowres.jpg Taken from this SST profile by goose204 (full credit) https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/702965/ As mentioned however, I opted to configure this profile directly in DCS due to the buggy SST SW causing centering issues. 3. Can I make all the necessary assignments for the X52 just using the DCS Software? Yes you can as explained, after removing the shift states, and adjusting for the lack of the mode switch. I've attached my config file - perhaps give it a try The changes I made to goose204's button assignments to compensate for the lack of the MODE rotary were as follows : Fire A : Flaps up Pinky + Fire A : Gear Up Fire B : Flaps down Pinky + Fire B : Gear Down Fire C : Mastermode toggle Pinky + Fire C : NWS Mouse Button : VR Zoom TIR Commands removed (VR :D) No Wheelbrake on trigger (again using rudder pedals, and lack of MODE rotary) NO NVG on POV3 + Clutch (got lazy :music_whistling:) Everything else works as per the profile. I retained the pinky and clutch button as modifiers as per the profile - see the below link on how to add the the x52 buttons as modifiers yourself : http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/3438430/HOWTO_Joystick_shift_button_in.html If you wish to use my config files; The joystick config goes here : C:\Users\<USERNAME>\Saved Games\DCS\Config\Input\A-10C\joystick (You may need to reconfigure the rudder axis to the joystick, as I use a rudder pedals) The modifiers config goes here : C:\Users\<USERNAME.\Saved Games\DCS\Config\Input\A-10C Hope this helps. modifiers.lua X52 H.O.T.A.S. {F9F352E0-D82D-11e6-8001-444553540000}.diff.lua
  9. Just sorted this last night ;) You need to delete the shift profiles in the SST SW (even if you don't use SST, the default profile has shift states programmed), and the pinkie will be recognized thereafter. Have a look at this link : https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/38796-HowTo-Configuring-the-X52-X52-Pro-for-full-button-usage And the video here : https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=83215
  10. Hi, Asus z170s, i5-7600k @ 4.3ghz, 16Gb Ram @ 3200mhz, GTX 1080ti. Win 10 on 256gb SSD, DCS 2.5 Standalone installed on 7200rpm HDD. I'm using the default VR settings, with only the cockpit textures increased. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
  11. Happened to me once, when I tried on my rift a few mins after exercising. The higher body temp caused the rift to fog up continuously. Once I'd cooled down, no fog issues. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
  12. Sorry for the hijack, but I have the same problem in VR. Highest cockoit textures don't help. I can barely read the labels in the A10c, even with VR zoom. Do you have alternate suggestions for VR? Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
  13. I also want to see the f14 released, but caring might be the very thing that is needed to see it through to release. So perhaps a change of mindset in the interest of your hobby?
  14. +1. Already have the Mig21 module, but would be willing to support the dev's in some other way financially if it's a matter of survival. It's been said many times on this forum - flight simming is a niche market, so we as consumers need to be supportive.
  15. Hi, Needs to do done from the DC's website if I recall correctly. Login, go to profile, and you will find a license key check function. Enter your steam serial and do a check, you should get an option to bind it to your account there.

  17. Bought it a few months ago and have no regrets - best module for that era in my opinion - fits nicely between the complexity of the a-10 and the seat of the pants ww2 era planes. Flight model feels good - but I believe the performance outside of afterburner is not 100%. Doesn't kill the sim for me, but the need to excess AB use does limit range somewhat. Other issue I've come across is that of having to cycle the weapon selector upon every weapons release - but not a major issue if you can assign a key on the hotas. If you are looking for a jet from this era, I'd say go for it - you won't be sorry.
  18. Thanks for sharing, looks promising. Does this extract mfd's, cdu's and the likes as well?
  19. Apologies for the misleading title. I've downloaded a few sea port assets for practice, and find it a little difficult to judge whether I'm still moving forward or have come to a full stop when approaching at low speed for landing. This is despite having the pad somewhat in view. Watched a few Gazelle videos, and the tape seems to flop down at 0 horizontal speed - which I thought would be quite handy. 20. My biggest challenge with the Huey at present is judging horizontal speed while hovering out of sight of the ground. Been watching a few DCS Gazelle videos, and found that ribbon on a stick attached to the windscreen extremely helpful in this regard. Anyone know of a mod to add the ribbon on a stick found in the Gazelle to the Huey? Just thought I'd ask. And thanks in advance. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
