So you've been planning this for a year? Still, good joke!
-
But so much fun!

I guess this shot was taken in the Mach loop. Any guys here that've been there to watch the low-level flying? I'm thinking of going there one time.

Full image. Nice humor :D

No news from me. In general, creating a stats page for FC2/DCS is complicated by the fact that there is no default log written which contains all the information. The game hooks that are available require dedicated LUA code which would have to be integrated into ServMan if you want to use that. In addition to that, for the majority of the A2A and A2G kills the on_kill() hook does not return the weapon used, nor is it possible to keep track of the airfields players take off from and land on. There does exist a debrief log which logs each weapon fired (shell by shell, rocket by rocket), but does not contain the player names or aircraft types. For me personally I am too busy in real life to play FC2, let alone work on this project :(

What's the difference? The difference is that you might have fewer people having to download a file (thought a much much bigger one) to get something they may not even want, compared to all people downloading a file (a very small one). If you really want Tacview then I would suggest to try the locked ACMI writing script out for a week, and see how your community deals with a non-stock server configuration.

I guess you can have a trigger zone around the airfield and a trigger that will activate an aircraft when an enemy aircraft enters the zone to act as a GAI flight. You could set it to intercept and put the target zone identical to the trigger zone. I am not sure if it will then chase an aircraft until it is out of fuel, but otherwise you could add an extra trigger to deactivate the aircraft when it leaves a trigger zone. The mission looks very cool though. I'll try to fly it one of these days.

You should realize that if Vyrtuouz were to make such a release and you were to allow it on your server, you would want to integrity check it. This would mean players that do not want Tacview would still have to download and run it to pass the integrity check. With this being the case, it would be just as easy, and already possible at this moment, to run the locked ACMI scripts and integrity check these. You could then make the locked ACMI script such that it only is executed when the client has TacviewExportDCS.lua in his Config/Export folder, which indicates that he installed Tacview. In this way clients that don't use Tacview will not record Tacviews. The downside of this is all clients will have to run a non-stock configuration, which is the typical catch-22 with integrity checks.

Nice skin, but too clean!

Blindspot is aware of my fix, so he may implement it in later versions if he hasn't included it already.

What is the deal with IFF on helicopters? I assume that they do not have IFF, in which case preventing fratricide can only be done by good communications. It is a pity FC2 only provides unambiguous identification, both for airplanes and helicopters.

Check this thread Lulac: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=307385#post307385 I'm not sure what the status is, but it looks great! More shots here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=462897&postcount=374

One click track replay with labels and externals enabled
Case replied to Case's topic in DCS Modding
Yes, it does. Make a copy of the script and change the path to the DCS executable. You'd have to select the DCS replay for DCS tracks and the FC replay for FC tracks. -
Amazing game! Just football, no schwalbe's, acting or unnecessary drama.

This is wrong. CO2, or any other molecule for that matter, will be destroyed and ionized in almost any stellar atmosphere. Only in very cool stars will you find molecules, TiO for example. Generally the temperatures are too high (1000's of K) for molecules to exist.

Oh my god... don't tell me you are a believer!

tracks in 104th Server have locked views...

Exactly. Server administrators may now argue that they do not need HL. However, once FC2/DCS support exists in HL I am confident many admins will host their servers through HL, as they will only attract more players through it. Those that join through the FC2/DCS lobby will still join.
-
No, I think Fahhh is right. HL will only show the servers and pilots flying on the servers that started their game through HL. Any server that started using the FC2/DCS lobby will not show in HL, and neither will the pilots flying on those servers. However, all servers, started through HL or the FC2/DCS lobby will show up on the FC2/DCS lobby. Remember that in FC1.12 players could join a server through IP which did not make them show up on HL.

One click track replay with labels and externals enabled
Case replied to Case's topic in DCS Modding
Yes and no. This mod does not create ACMI's. All it does is provide an easy way to replay tracks. To obtain an ACMI of a recorded flight, you will have to replay the track AND ensure that you have Tacview recordings enabled. -
Well, you are free to NOT use HL, but it may make the game more popular than it is now.

Yes, you can launch an R-27ER in home on jam, and then break the lock. You must remember though that the missile will fly a pure trajectory, and it will not fly the lead trajectory that it would if the bandit was not jamming and you had the bandit locked. Because of this, the missile does not have much probability of hitting a bandit that is flying towards you. There'll be a high probability of a kill if the bandit is flying away from you. However, if you are able to maintain a lock until burning through the jammer, the missile will switch from pure to lead pursuit, and the bandit will only then receive the launch warning. This may lead him to think the missile was launched just then when in fact it is much closer, and he may decide to press a bit longer, long enough for the missile to hit him.

These servers are on the list and you will see more than 6 people playing on them once in a while. Why the 104th is so popular these days is an interesting subject, because the other servers have good, if not better missions.

Good initiative Fusion!
