    New campaign wish

    This!
  2. You guys are doing some fantastic work! Your time and effort to perfect this great aircraft is greatly appreciated!!
  3. I have been having the exact same issue with Button #15 not working. Can you tell me where the OCulus Rift keymap file was located? Thanks.
  4. I have $30 in my account just sitting around too. I really don't understand ED's logic on this subject. They claim that you can use a max of 30% (though typically only 20%) of the total purchase price with bonus cash. So why does it matter is it's discounted already? If it's discounted at only 13%, then let me use an additional 7-17% with bonus cash. You're still going to get the same amount of money in the end.
  5. Integrity check is in place to ensure everyone is playing on a level playing field. Rightfully so, any mod that gives you an advantage, especially those that enhance your vision or field of view outside of what DCS itself is programmed to do, should be rejected. Especially on those servers that are highly competitive, such as those you mention. While I never used any of the mods you listed, (using Frenchy's NVG mod as a prime example here) I have used NVGs in reality, though some 20+ years ago now. Looking at the mod, I can say that the mod makes things way too clear for what it was in reality. Back when I was using them, you could only see clearly out to about 30-40 yrds depending on light conditions. Beyond that things became fuzzy very quickly. You certainly were not able to see clear details on an aircraft some distance away. Remember, NVGs use the ambient light provided by your surroundings to enhance the image. They DO NOT act as a big green spotlight that can light up the world and allow you to read a billboard a 2 miles away. I know you don't want to hear the obvious answer, but that's the only possible answer if you want to play on the servers you listed. EDIT: What I can also add is, I know a lot of people who play on the DDCS server who use VR. Even with IC in place, they all do quite well on that server and say enjoy the experience. At the very least, give any of the servers you listed a shot. You may still have a good time and make a few more flying buddies.
  6. I also meant to say that the smoke effects are rather impressive. I made a campaign of sorts for some friends and I. In the first mission we departed early one morning to destroy a naval base. I used the smoke effects to make its destruction more impressive. In the second mission we perform CAP about 30 miles from the shoreline later the same day, and I used the smoke effects to give the impression that the facilities were still burning.
  7. @ Jonny_Rico, well, I no longer have the mission in question, and after trying to quickly throw one together I realize why. Suntag is correct, there's no way to turn them off (not sure now what I was thinking). However, you can make the object burn for a period of time by making said object explode over and over again. The average smoke and flames lasts for about 80 seconds, so you can have the object explode every 75 seconds, and adjust the size of the explosion to get the effect you want. Problem with this method is, it can make for a lengthy trigger list if you want to have said object burn for a lengthy period of time.
  8. I no longer have the specific mission, but will try to throw one together for you later today.
  9. While I'm not big into the Korean War era, it's green and mountainous, and therefor I can work with it.
  10. The way I solved this was through the use of flags, and time since flag. For example, if I target say a power plant, and destroy it, it triggers a flag. Upon flag true, I activate the smoke. Then I do a time since flag, and deactivate the smoke, and repeat the process for a smaller smoke; thus creating a smaller smoke to give the impression of the smoke/fire dying down. Eventually another time since flag to eliminate the smoke entirely. It's been quite some time since I did this, and with things constantly changing, not sure if the process still works.
  11. Thank you for testing this out. Was going to test it out myself, and you saved me some time. It's unfortunately they don't work. It's also unfortunate you can't randomize static objects. All the missions I build I make all units randomized as to whether they show up during the mission or not. Unfortunately, I can't do that with static objects. A bummer. I only use the in game triggers since I can't figure out the whole scripting thing.
  12. I wouldn't mind seeing a map of this area, but I'm waiting for Vietnam especially. I just want something with greenery. Already quite tired of dirt.
  13. Bonus points cannot be applied to a product if that product is already being discounted. That's where the issue lies. The product is being discounted at a rate less than the maximum allowable for bonus points usage. If we as the customer has the bonus points available, we should be allowed to use them up to the maximum allowable discount.
  14. I really want to say that I'm the owner of Heatblur's F-14 module. It's really killing me to know that I'm not. The reason for that, is ED's policy on bonus points. Currently I have almost $30 worth. Through ED the Early Access F-14 is discounted at 13% (in reality it calculates out to 12.5%), saving me $10.00. But if I wait till the F-14 is out of EA I can save as much as 30%, or $23.99 (or $23.997 to be exact) for the exact same bird, though supposedly, without all the bugs and headaches that plague EA (yeah right). So, my question to ED is: why? Why give people the bonus points if you're not going to let them use them?? I earned the points by paying full price for modules. You're policy states that I earn 20% upon the purchase of a full price module, and can use up to 30% when purchasing another module somewhere down the line with those accumulated points. I can understand not allowing anyone to use more than 30% of the cost of the module in points. I get it. I really do. You need to cover your costs. But, if you're going to set policy stating that I can use up to 30%, then let us, your customer do just that. You discounted the F-14 at 13% for EA, so let me use up to an additional 17% in points. If you're going to have us, your customers, beta test everything for you FOR FREE, and deal with all the headaches and bugs that come with that, the least you could do is show us some compassion by allowing us to save every penny we can. Please consider changing your policy. In its current state, it just doesn't make any sense. Respectfully, A Future F-14 Module Owner
  15. While not sure about the canopy opening/closing, I know you can trigger an action when a unit's speed equals less than a certain speed. In your case it would probably be for say, less than 1 knot (unit essentially stopped); at which point you could activate the fuel truck and or trooper. If you're having the same unit take off from ramp, I would also recommend that you include a trigger zone and a time more trigger; else as soon as mission starts the triggers are satisfied and will spawn your fuel truck and or trooper prematurely.
  16. You can only rearm and refuel at friendly airports. To make an airport friendly, click on desired airport within mission editor and a panel will appear on the right. Within that panel will be a drop down menu that will allow you to make the airport Red, Blue, or Neutral.
  17. Rgr, thanks for clarifying.
  18. Is this something that went into effect yesterday? I have never bothered with that drop down box in the past. I assume the same must be done with the ICLS then too? Having an issue with ICLS as well, and was assuming I was doing something wrong in the plane.
  19. I can agree with above. Something is wrong with TACAN. Worked fine until update. Since update I get only a bearing. No distance or time of arrival or TACAN mark on HSI. Doesn't matter if it's X or Y band, result is the same; bearing only. Happy to see it's not only me.
  20. Fee, Thanks again for checking it out. I was exited to see a roll of 4, but then nervous as the next 4 rolls were also 4. That being said, after a couple more runs it is working as intended with your test mission. I must assume at this point that I'm incredibly unlucky, or my mission is corrupt. Again thank you. You taking the time to look into it is greatly appreciated. Baaz
  21. Rgr. Will test your mission on my end. Hopefully, it's just a corrupt file.
  22. Fee, Thanks for having a look, and I agree it should; however, it doesn't. And again, the triggers work perfectly fine on Caucasus; but for whatever reason it just doesn't work on Persian Gulf. Were you able to test this yourself? I've ran a repair prior to updating with negative results. I tested after updating to today's release, still with negative results, and tried running a repair a second time after updating; with negative results. I'm at a loss here as to what could be the reason for it not working on my end. EDIT: Since I failed to state earlier, I'm using Beta version (haven't tested on Standard). Also, changing trigger to "1 ONCE" still failed to correct the issue.
  23. Situation: 5 groups created, each set to Late Activation dependent upon random value rolled. Mission uses in-game triggers only, no scripting of any kind. Problem: Only Group 1 Spawns upon every mission start. Mission triggers listed as follows: TYPE: 4 MISSION START > NO CONDITION > FLAG SET RANDOM VALUE (1, 1, 5) Type: 1 ONCE, Spawn group 1 > Flag Equals Flag (1,1) > Group Activate (Group 1) Type: 1 ONCE, Spawn group 2 > Flag Equals Flag (1,2) > Group Activate (Group 2) Type: 1 ONCE, Spawn group 3 > Flag Equals Flag (1,3) > Group Activate (Group 3) Type: 1 ONCE, Spawn group 4 > Flag Equals Flag (1,4) > Group Activate (Group 4) Type: 1 ONCE, Spawn group 5 > Flag Equals Flag (1,5) > Group Activate (Group 5) The above method works perfectly fine on Caucasus Map, but not on Persian Gulf (haven’t tried on Nevada or Normandy). Since this is not a crash, no logs are created. Can anyone confirm, or what am I doing wrong that won’t allow this method to work on PG? Thanks. EDIT: Issue still persists after updating to 2.5.2.19641
  24. Sarcasm?? Not sure if my response actually helps, or not.
  25. >>>SITUATIONAL AWARENESS<<< Bad things happen when you lose it. Since the F-5 doesn't have all the bells and whistles of most other modules (something I love about it), it's crucial that you maintain great situational awareness. Know where you are at all times. Know the terrain, where front lines are, and know were you are in relation to bullseye. When AWACS gives you BRA/Bulls, try to remember the one previous (if applicable) so you can get a more clear picture about what the bogey is actually doing. Maybe the bogey is not a threat at all, and is just loitering in no-man's land (example). Often times I won't react to the first BRA/Bulls issued, unless it's HOT. "Flanking" doesn't tell you if he's flanking to the left or right, but with good situational awareness, you can probably make an educated guess. Take the time to read your mission briefings. If it's a new mission, make a note of where Bulls is, and then make a few area familiarization trips on an empty map to get yourself clued in on important locations. For example, if Senaki-Kolkhi is Bulls, then you know Sukhumi is 307 for 55; Kutaisi is 095 for 19; Kobuleti is 198 for 20; and the highest peak on the map is 009 for 69. Familiarize yourself with the map you're working on, and things will come to you really quick. Hope it all helps. GL.
