I have always noticed the slight bank to the right since the first day I flown the Ka-50 many, many, moons ago. I always attributed it to the fact that the gun is on the right side, adding weight and drag. Not an expert, but it makes sense to me.

Customized cockpit "english" -> native abris & ekran remains
Baaz replied to ryak84's topic in Bugs and Problems
Options > Gameplay > Avionics Language > English It's a two-step process. The above must be performed in addition to customizing the cockpit. -
The Ka-50 is, without any shred of doubt, definitely worth buying. In the proper hands, it's one of the deadliest modules we have atm. Once you understand how the trim system works, and how it's directly connected to the autopilot system, she's a breeze to fly. Anyone that says otherwise, is in my opinion, simply doing it wrong. This module is a must have for anyone interested in helicopter operations. I have to partially disagree with this statement. While the Ka-50 visibility is limited, it's certainly not difficult to land. I've stopped trying to approach the landing area nose-on. Instead I approach with the landing area at my 10-11 o'clock and kind of side slip her in. This approach provides clear visibility to the landing area. With a little left rudder and right stick at about 4-5m above LZ, straighten her out to allow a nice steady decent. Easy-peasy.

L-140 LWS switch is located to the left of the ABRIS above the ABRIS power switch, and JUST below the small lamp as indicated. At present there is no physical switch to determine ON/OFF, and ED is aware, so hopefully a fix is coming soon. After a 30 second warm up period, the lamp on the back panel will illuminate to let you know the system is active. See screenshots below for reference.

You're talking about aircraft designed by totally different companies. It's not unusual for different companies to call their parts something different, though they may function the same way. It's just how it is. Personally, I like how it is currently. Makes you learn a new bird just like an actual pilot would going from one aircraft to another. You don't think Boeing and Airbus get together to make sure their switches are labelled the exact same thing, do you?

Having same issue. I posted logs under another thread: https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=4219198&postcount=5

You're not alone. Played last night without issue. Updated to latest patch today, and instant crash on login. dcs.log-20200220-221725.zip dcs.log-20200220-222055.zip dcs.log-20200220-222622.zip

[NO BUG] COLD START - Can't move throttle.
Baaz replied to Turnip's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
Maybe I'm misunderstanding the issue people are having, but I use a TM:WH and have bound my throttle levers like so in the image attached. This allows me to start the bird by simply pushing my throttles from the off position to idle. Hope this helps. -
Tu-16, if Deka makes it, I'll buy it; along with any other strategic aircraft they so desire. C-2 would be great too. Sometimes I just want to take a relaxing flight between point A and B, and just enjoy the scenery.

Confused about my new mouse. I need guidance.
Baaz replied to dbestinfla's topic in New User Briefing Room
Evening DB. I use this exact same mouse, and having no issues with it here. Is the mouse not working only in DCS? I'm wondering if this could be a bad mouse, bad USB connector, a bad USB strip if that's what you have it plugged into, or maybe even a power issue depending on how many peripherals you have plugged in. I know as I was adding more and more peripherals to my rig I was encountering power issues. Just my thoughts. By no means a expert here. -
After all the discounts, including ED Miles, it cost me a whopping $7.26. A no-brainer. Told the wife that since she failed to perform her duties, *wink wink* she would forgo her daily Starbucks coffee indulgence. I figured she owed me after I had to drive 30 minutes each way to bring her her lunch after forgetting it the day before. Did I choose fun, or did I choose FUN?
-
Ummm... we moved about 100 miles ENE. Best guess here.

Going to be a lot of disappointed rotor heads (myself included) if ED doesn't figure out a way to keep downed pilots from sinking to the bottom of the ocean.

Excellent!! Day one buy for me for sure. Can't wait. 2 weeks, right?

The F-5 is an aircraft I always turn to for old school fun. Having only two AIM-9's means she doesn't throw a lot of punches in A2A, but the two upper-cuts are fully capable of landing a knockout blow. As has been said, you do need some assistance to get you to find your targets, as the radar is used mostly for WVR locking and ranging when in DM or DG modes. Sounds weird, I know, but after using it a few times you'll understand. The real fun of the F-5 comes in old school navigation and A2G missions. Navigating to a target zone via TACAN, RB, or good ole MK1 eyeball is hella fun in my book. None of that F10 hack here. It can take a little bit of practice, but rewarding when done right. She can carry bombs (as many as nine), rockets, or a combination of. And again, without fancy computer assistance, it will require you to hit your marks on the bomb/rocket run. Knowing your proper air speeds and dive angles for a given depression are a must to put bombs on target accurately, and will take practice for sure. The real fun is having to make last second calculations in your head because for whatever reason, maybe your dive is too shallow/steep, or speed too fast/slow. Doing so with precision IMO is a thrill and a bit of a rush. At 50% off the F-5 is a must have in my book; and something I don't think you would regret.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but my understanding is that red tracers are primary weapons and green are secondary. For example, on the BMP-3, the 30mm cannon would fire red tracers, but the 7.62 machine gun on that same vehicle would fire green. It is not based on caliber of weapon, only if primary or secondary. Infantry will always fire red as they only have a single weapon.

Going through the Weekend News of the past, we've really heard nothing about the new maps since January. https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3735513&postcount=178 Specifically: "For 2019 we and our partners are working on two new World War II maps, a Syria map, a Falkland Islands map, and a new free map that we’ll discuss later in the year." Can we get a progress update? Are we still looking for something by the end of the year?

You will notice once electrical system turned on that the HSI rotates rather quickly at first, and then begins to slow down before coming to a stop on current heading. I haven't flown the 25T in some time, but in the past I would wait until the HSI stabilized on current heading before moving the aircraft. The wait time was somewhere between 1.5 to 3 minutes (again, been a while so can't remember exactly).

60L, 60M, 24P, 53, 1S... I don't care what it is, just give me more choppers.

Problem solved. To correct the issue I had to: 1. Check "Unlimited Munitions"; 2. Save mission file; 3. Exit Mission Editor; 4. Restart Mission Editor and load file. Upon doing so, I had full list of munitions ready for editing. Unfortunately, I have to completely go through and edit the stores to the desired values again, but better that than have to remake the mission entirely.
-
Thanks Joey, I see the same when I look at Sukhumi's Resource Manager. For whatever reason, I can't get the same at Gudauta. I'm really hoping I don't have to remake this mission all over again.
-
Ok... Checking "Unlimited Munitions" did not restore my list; nor did clearing the column. How do I add HVAR rockets to the list of stores I want Gudauta to supply??? I've even tried to copy the supply list from Sukhumi to Gudauta, but still no joy.
-
Stand-by one... It seems because I added the P-51 AFTER editing the Resource Manager for Gudauta, that the HVAR rockets won't show (I speculate because they are listed under Sukhumi). I may have to check the box for "Unlimited Munitions", uncheck again to ensure limited, and edit the list all over again.
