Yeah Aim 9L is all aspect and the most deadly missile in current scenario (Argentinians can confirm). I think it should be removed.

Or Kneeboard builder app with mission briefing addon pages to kneeboard. It gives you all freqs for all units in mission

In MP F2F datalink doesn't seem to work correctly depending on servers. For example on Blueflag it seem to work quite well but it doesnt work at all at Cold War server. Am I missing something? Like AWACS unit for sync (or something) or some other datalink unit in Mission Editor? Or is it Jester to Jester or Jester to human RIO problem? I think in manual it says that initial address number is set by ground crew and in DCS that means that F14s must be in same flight in Mission Editor. Is it true? BTW maybe option for Jester to change Address number?

I would add, that personally i drop bombs in computer target mode and as its drop is sometimes off from release queue from TGP I must sometimes lase manually

As Jester's eyes are very useful in dogfight, how about giving option for him to spot and track friendly planes as well. It would be great help if you get lost from your flight lead and need to re-join formation.

Doesnt swept wings change your wings into quasi delta wing? And that would increas drag at high AoA...
-
Any particular reason why when flying overhead carrier on CASE I recovery wings should be swept all the way back? Just to look cool? :)

I refuel at 250-300 knots at 10k-20k and its fine. I would say its harder at higher altitudes....
-
Idk, in other planes it seem to be simple Nose/tail switch... nose for impact and tail for delay... and it works, it explodes after some time when in tail

I think anticollision lights should be on right with the engines, like its a warning light that engines are running

I refuelled on BlueFlag from KC130 tanker with no problem. Remember that S3 uses old model and its THE hardest to AAR with. I think it have to do with old drogue model and its "intake" hitbox is incredibly small. "Up-to-date" tankers have bigger "intake" hitbox so margin of error is larger (and longer fuel cables). Also dont forget, as F14 takes fuel, it becomes heavier therefor slightly more power/trim is required

Is there any way to delay fuse on GBUs to make bomb first to penetrate bunker before explosion? N/T fuse option change in profile results in invalid fuse msg...

Proper procedure for rearming countermeasures?
The_Tau replied to key_stroked's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Technically they could, but in Real Life they didn't. Exactly same with Dumb bombs, or 6 Aim54s. They were cleared to do it, but never actually did it. At least with US Navy service. Not much info for Iranians. -
Well then thats answers the original question. Flaps full down on case III bolter, gear up and dont go over 225 knots.
-
Supercarrier manual says to retract gear, leave flaps down, Besides in F14, u can put flaps to half position. Flaps handle works like throttle and its not On/OFF switch And if u want to be pure HOTAS u can put flaps up and then control manoeuvre flaps with DLC controls

hmm I think in DCS all jammers are 360 degrees. I might be wrong, but I didn't notice any evidence otherwise

Radio contact to a Tower during the CS procedure
The_Tau replied to kievbsm's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Well what version of DCS you using? Before Jester started radio in FM frequency and you had to ask him to manually change to AM frequency. It was changed in recent patch so that Jester starts with AM as default. -

As pilot u can access both 159 and 182 radios. There is binding in control settings to open menu for each radio -
Proper procedure for rearming countermeasures?
The_Tau replied to key_stroked's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
I would believe so. 2 LAU 138s launches 2 "full "chaff in total per impulse. Now, to make things more interesting, in manual they say that in RL, F-14s carried only one Lau 138 as, due to its size it hampers access to cooling bottle in shoulder aim9 pylon on one side -
Wouldn't Arleigh Burke cruiser or Ticonderoga be better than CV radar? Due to Aegis system?

I think as Mike said sliders dont do much. ALE reloads from radio and sidewinder pylons reloads through, well, reloading of AIM9s. -

I think you just rearm with correct setup in rearming panel. No need for ground crew. I would slide flares to the ratio you given to ground crew and rest max chaff as aim9 pylons actually hold 160 chaff but each cartridge is only 1/4 in size. System releases 4 cartridges from aim9 pylons per impulse thus 160/4=40 additional chaff impulses. Not sure how HB implemented it in game and possibly thats the reason why rearming window "allow" setting 200 of chaff or flare, even though u can deploy only 100 of CM in total. -
Sadly There is no keybinding for Jester to tell him to scan high/low or azimuth left/right. I would really appreciate the option for that though same as it is for radar modes or ranges. Simple copy of scan middle, middle-high, middle-low, high. low commands would be of great help. I dont think its much different from mapping keyboard button to tell Jester to change radar range between 50/100/200 miles on the TID

Proper procedure for rearming countermeasures?

F14B in DCS have two CM stations, one is build-in aircraft another is add on. AN.ALE 39 is build in and it have space for 60 cartridges and those can be set by mission editor or radio/groundcrew. This station is only one in F14 with flares. You can set any ratio of flares to chaff as long they are multiple of 10. When u take AIM9s on stations 1A and 8A u get add on station, which is attached directly to sidewinder pylons. These contain chaff only and they last for 40 additional chaff drops. As u see even though rearmament window states u can have hundreds of countermeasures, in actuality you get them much less - a M2000 level of it. For most multiplayer missions ALE 39 is fully loaded with flares so default loadout is 60 flares and 40 chaff. Personally I like to change that by ground crew to 30/30 ratio in ALE39, so in the end I get 30 flares and 70 chaff which seem much more effective For info seek into manual. http://www.heatblur.se/F-14Manual/general.html#an-ale-39-countermeasures-dispensing-set
