  1. @Bunny Clark Does your Oil In The Water Campaign work in the latest version of DCS (2.7.5)?
  2. I manually edited to height to 3000 ft and the speed to 260 KIAS in the Mission Editor but now the green arches are incorrectly placed and the actual height is not what I set either. Has ED raised the whole world (Caucusus Map) by 1000 feet for some reason? Is this maybe why people are complaining that the clouds are lower in missions too?
  3. Are the official F/A-18C training missions out of date for the latest version of DCS? Training mission 6 starts you at 1910ft instead of 3000ft and this messes up the whole mission. Thanks
  4. I just checked again, thanks for your help. It wasn't showing because TCN wasn't boxed. I think it might have something to do with the training/ voiceover etc not recognising/ allowing it. Not sure but once the trainer had stopped speaking and given me control of the aircraft, I selected TCN and it BOXED and I could see the abbreviation and distance and steerpoint marker on the HUD. Thanks for your help. Much appreciated.
  5. When I click it, nothing happens. I don't see the box around TCN, which I think I should right?
  6. This is most likely my mistake but while doing the F/A-18C training on HSI and Tacan, the Tacan station info does not show on the HUD when the voiceover says it should. I see the TACAN and bearing and range info on the LDDI HSI page and I have the Tacan tuned correctly, I just don't see any info on the HUD. I also don't see a BOX around the word TCN when I select it. Any ideas? One more question - if I use HDG select to mark the TACAN marker on the HSI, why does the HEADING BUG move faster than the TACAN station. I would have thought they should both move at the same speed if I am turning towards them?
  7. Much appreciated, thank you very much. You might have seen in my screenshot that the mod was packaged correctly ( I think) for the root DCS folder and the files copied across with OVGMe, they just wouldn't appear in game. I managed to get Devrim's cockpit texture mods working now too, thanks. Not sure why I can't use my files any more though..
  8. Hi everyone, I can't figure out how to get my cockpit mods working in 2.7.5. I use OVGMe and have tried installing into Saved Games/DCS folder (no idea about the correct folder structure in there though) and into the main game folder like I always used to but I cannot get my mods to show up. I can see that the files have been copied into this folder but the textures don't show up in game. Example below from a Mod that I'm trying to install. If anyone can provide clear and simple instructions, I'd really appreciate it. Thank you, Toby
  9. Resurrecting this to see if my all time favourite campaign was ever updated for DCS 2.7? @BBQ you still there?
  10. I've been away from DCS since 2018 but I've just reinstalled DCS on my new rig and am looking forward to flying helicopters badly again. The sim looks pretty different in places (Marianas + sunset + clouds) than what I remember a few years ago. I had some trouble setting it up (up yours SSAA) but it's running at a decent-ish 60fps most of the time. I used to have DCS modded to the (eye)balls and, so far, I've only seen Barthek's latest Caucusus texture mod. Q. What should a returning player know about DCS 2.7 and are there any 'essential' mods that improve the cockpits, ground textures, etc like way back in 2018? Appreciate your wisdom, toby23
  11. Thanks, it's been a while since I was last here flying... I was mixing it up with transparency antialiasing.. no need to upscale..
  12. That did it, kind of. FPS now hovering around 85fps on Spitfire > Quick Start > Free Flight > Caucasus. Can you tell me why SSAA is costing me >25+fps? It shouldn't be hitting that hard. Thank you for helping by the way, I appreciate it.
  13. I hope you can help.. I have this issue too on a fresh install of DCS on a new system. There are no mods installed and no Winwing software or similar. If I look at the sky, the FPS goes up to 100 but as soon as I look out through the cockpit, it goes down to 45fps again, which it shouldn't. This is my system - Ryzen 5800X, 32GB RAM, RTX 3060, Windows 10. I do not have an export.lua file (no mods) and I have tried editing the MaxFPS = false in graphics.cfg but it doesn't change anything. My settings are modest for this system, so I should, in theory, be seeing much better performance. There are no hard fps locks in Nvidia Control Panel or in RTSS, which is set to 0 on a global basis as I have a GSync monitor running at 144hz.
  14. hello. I have just installed DCS for the first time on a new machine and my FPS are also 'stuck' to 60fps. They aren't stuck because they go up if I look at the sky but they are still very low for my system, hovering around 40fps depending on the situation and crawling to 29fps in the L39a over the Persian Gulf, which just shouldn't be happening. I have tried all the tricks in this thread but nothing has helped. Is this a new feature that I need to learn how to fix so that I can enjoy a high FPS? Thank you
  15. Hi Boris, Sorry but you will have to see if you can fix it yourself, I am not flying in DCS at the moment and am waiting for ED to fix the Spitfire cockpit reflections first. Toby
  16. Thanks Sokol, I appreciate your input. I have a lot of respect for your knowledge over the years. I will stick with my Kuban career for now and hope that this will be fixed one day. Meanwhile I wait patiently for my WarBRD and T-50 grip...
  17. @Art-J Unless I misunderstood your point about the mixture lever, the Spitfire Mk IX mixture is automatic.
  18. The original mod was just a texture fix to the original, not a desaturation mod, but in version 2 HERE, I desaturated the colour as well. If that's not enough for you, try this one made by someone else..
  19. Great work - check your PM Mustang

  21. This mod tones down the intensity of the colour of the armoured glass and also replaces the default canopy sunlight reflections with a more subtle and higher resolution alternative. I have also toned down the intensity of the baked reflections in the glass, until this gets an official fix. More screenshots here of the original idea, since updated to provide a less saturated green colour. 1. Download the attached zip file. 2. Unpack it to your JSGME or OvGME _MODS folder and activate. OR Alternatively, copy the Cockpit_Spitfire_LFMkIX_Textures folder to :\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Mods\aircraft\SpitfireLFMkIX\Cockpit\Textures SpitfireLFMkIX Glass and Reflections_v2.zip
  22. UPDATE - FIXED WITH MOD (https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3571337&postcount=1) I'm not sure if this is intentional or not but the green armoured glass looks so saturated because the green texture is repeated twice, once as a coloured glass texture and then again as a reflection. I desaturated the glass in the reflection file and took some comparison shots below. The original texture is on the left and the edited texture on the right. I would agree that it's a subtle change but in flight, it looks very natural now. The biggest difference is when you do a barrel roll, there is no hard line as the texture ends.
  23. Here's hoping for a texture fix asap, those baked reflections in the windscreen glass are very distracting.. EDIT 21/07 - I fixed the baked reflections too by making them more subtle.
  24. It was late and I had just come back from a screening of 'Spitfire'.. I did flick through the documents, very well made, but too much text for a late night sortie. Will try again tonight. Appreciate your help Reflected.
