  1. Yea and like 20 percent in our parliament are farmers and our DoD minister is a farmer too... That's what some people call "representatives of the people" :puke: GDP per person of around 70'000$, leading technology including aviation, CERN in Geneva, famous machine building factories and about 2% tax sponsored farmers  :poster_offtopic:
  2. CBUs please! One of the rare moments these bombs could help people!
  3. The story behind this is way too big, to discuss it on this non-political forum...
  4. @asparagin What's that aircraft?? It's a sub hunter I guess but is it chinese or an Embraer? never seen that before. EDIT: Ah I found it, it's chinese (Shaanxi Y-8 )
  5. Thanks for the information!
  6. http://vimeo.com/se7enth/24hours Very nice film and editing work.
  7. And I've been there even tree times, well one time it was closed... Back on topic: There is a submarine museum at the "Skhodnenskaya" Metro station, check 55°51'7.03"N 37°27'23.14"E to see where. It was really interesting to see but unfortunately I didn't understand a word because I don't speak (enough) russian... There's a A-90 Ekranoplan (that one from Kaspysk but restored), a air cushion boat (don't know which class, too lazy to look it up) and a Tango-class sub. The day I visited the museum, we had a guided tour through the sub but not the Ekranoplan I don't know whether it isn't finished yet or was closed that day. http://www.museum-vmf.ru .
  8. Damn I already had the idea in mind to mount a cam on my MiG, well not the -17 but anyway the realisation might still take some... decades :notworthy:
  9. no it's the frecce tricolori solo aircraft (MB339), but played faster...
  10. Air Show at Sion Air Base, south of Switzerland
  11. Breitling Sion Airshow 2011 Just one Hornet shot, maybe I'll upload videos and more pics after I've sorted all the files... And I still have to sort MAKS and Kamchatka shots as promised (I will post them in the MAKS photo section ASAP) The wheater was rather bad this day, but the rain or high humidity gives you some nice pictures anyway.
  12. Yes Sir! I'm also travelling to Kamtchatka so I hope to see some MiG-31s and if I'm lucky enough I'll even get some nuclear subs, who knows?
  13. Well, there are 20+ tons metal objects flying around at Mach 1, you can't hide that but you can reduce the chance of being detected. ----------------------- :poster_offtopic: free to be deleted But that's just my opinion but I'm pretty sure that enough people will flood this thread with all sorts of opinions. But still there are just opinions around, you're asking something, which can't be answered by the people who would know the answer(s). Just one small adition: In Serbia they somehow managed to shoot down a F-117, but there are also plenty opions and rumours around out there... Without getting to deep into politics (I hope): Who cares about stealth when most of te countries nowadays face wars against a bunch of farmers with AK-47s, the technology is now needed in the A-10C and comparable A/C not in Cold War-era full scale war thinking. ....Stop... writing... now... nevermind the rest just care about the first part.. that was all I wanted to say
  14. It's evaporised onto the surface, it should reduce the radar cross section of the aircraft IIRC. The cockpit glass works as a conducter, which either absorbs the radar energy or doesn't let it pass onto the sharp edges of the cockpit interior. And it might also work like sunglasses who knows...
  15. It's evaporised onto the surface, it should reduce the radar cross section of the aircraft IIRC. The cockpit glass works as a conducter, which either absorbs the radar energy or doesn't let it pass onto the sharp edges of the cockpit interior. But I'm no expert in that...
  16. Here are some photos of the "Zigermeet" airshow in Mollis (switzerland) The A-10 demo was announced but then cancelled due to "political reasons" and:chair: and :wallbash: I really don't know what bit them The 60th anniversary of the Hawker Hunter (which was part of the swiss air force) The Hunter was also designed to kill tanks but doesn't have one huge gun but 4(!) 30mm cannons. And I think it even can carry Mavericks, because I once sit in it's cockpit an I think there was a button indicating it... 17. A-10 was cancelled due to "political reasons" as the speaker angrily stated... Don't know what happened there but it was very dissapointing. Though had a fantastic moment with a Hornet flying 30m straight above me, upon arrival-with full AB, great sound! :punk:
  18. Will suply you with some pics and videos in the Photos /Videos thread. I have to test my new equipment and what's better for it than the swiss Hornet demo and the A-10?:punk:
  19. The Hellfire is a light missile designed to use on (low-flying) helicopters. Using them on an aricraft which is flying high: imagine it's range when assuming the 8km or whatever is the range on a straight line, when flying at let's say 5km (which isn't that high for an aircraft). And mounting a down-looking radar onto the A-10 is nearly impossible because of its gun placement.
  20. Erm, guys are you aware of Lockerbie? I wouldn't take this too lightly... But as jpm1 stated: it seems to be a matter of days. Great: http://www.natochannel.tv/?uri=channels/381662/1393665 check at 5.50min Short version of the video: Remaining forces near Brega (Tiger and Gazelles in action there, as stated in another video), Misrata-cleared, Southern mountains (berber highlands) mostly cleared some sporadic activities involving artillery pieces near the town of Nalut, the frontline now is between Dafiniyah and Zlitan, again Qadhafi forces have forced (about 300) people to remain in the area to reduce the possibility of air raids. Also Zawiyah seems to be liberated, even tough it's located west of Tripoli. There must have been some horrible scenes in Misrata and Zawiyah, both are pretty close to Tripolis and both were taken by pro-Regime forces and later were under siege by them.
  21. Here's another strange C-130 mod (this plane seems to be really multipurpose!) :smilewink: I hadn't seen the whole video yet as I was thinking: Which fool is going to fly that monster? Glad no one was injured, what an crazy idea...
  22. Stay low: Flying sheeps! more info on Wikipedia
  23. Just a repost from the russian part of the forum :fear: BOING: Oh, dammit again... Erm, calm down everybody and stop staring, nothing ha...:bomb:
  24. My suggestion: when you're going down, it should be possible to switch on 243.000 UHF and call for a SAR or CSAR mission. And when it is set up by the mission designer, some SAR Blackhawks should start from the nearest airbase (depending on your transmitted position) picking you up. Something like: Crash then, you can climb out of the cockpit (open the cockpit and not eject, just go down the ladder not just open the cockpit like it is now) and then you should be able to call in some help and when they're arriving safely (of course depends on the set up equipment the CSAR team consists), they're landing close to you and then the debrief or "fly again" screen pops up. I hope you got my idea... I think there are "just" (I don't know) the animation of you getting out of the cockpit and the necessary canges or new role in the mission editor to add...
  25. saw one at a souvenir shop next to red square: something around 200 bucks (USD I mean)
