Very expensive few months, but damn also very exciting. I will be the first to admit I'm not a fast jet guy, BUT this looks another great module, by a great leading name in the simulation world. Bought to support you guys, honestly can't wait to have a play with this. She's gonna look great in my hangar Cowboy10uk

Will agree, that the current bonus system is pretty much a complete waste of time. I honestly have no idea why ED even bothered to implement it. On one hand its apparently there to thank loyal customers for their support, and yet there is absolutely nothing to use it on. Loyal customers tend to purchase modules when they come out as they are loyal in the first place, I've purchased every module that has come out Pre Order since A10 and I even jumped through God knows how many hoops to import BS from Russia, so I could use it months before it was avalible over here, as I was that impressed with DCS. Every other Bonus system allows you to use any bonuses earned however you want. Now while I appreciate we do generally get a 20% discount on Pre Orders, which does reduce the cost, couldn't we have a system that IF you also wanted to use bonus credits then the price is then full price. That way the customer dosnt get 2 discounts. I currently have $86 that runs out in 2016, pretty sure I've already lost a similar amount after it expired as I couldn't use it. Surely IF ED has taken the time and effort to produce a bonus system such as this, it would make sense that the system is usable. Yes it may mean from time to time loyal customers get a free aircraft, but to be honest, if they have spent the amount of money that is required to hit those such of levels anyway, what's the issue. I know it will never change, but please, either make a usable system or scrap the entire bonus system, either would be better than the current frustration. I will continue to support ED by purchasing every module released even for aircraft I don't fly, since I truely believe in what they are doing and think the future is very very exciting, but if I have bonuses sat on my account, I would like to be able to spend them the same way as all my other bonus systems. I.E. How I like. Cowboy10uk

Well, I finally jumped. After reading several very good reviews I finally decided on the Inno3D 890TI hybrid black edition, a factory overclocked air AND water cooled card. Now all installed and did a quick fps test in DCS world. On A10C, instant flight, easy mission I was getting around 35 - 45fps at 5670 x 1080 with my 680 4GB, with the 980TI, and the same settings this jumped to 80 - 100 fps, so pretty much a 50% increase in frames. Just for a laugh, I then maxed out all settings in the graphical options to see what this card could do, while the frame rate did drop quite a bit as to be expected, it sat at 60fps with the same instant flight mission. Again it's a good increase compared to what I was getting. So damn I'm happy, while it was an expensive card £569.99. Damn it was worth it. Hopefully I don't regret not waiting for Pascal, but as there's no real eta for the cars, and it normally takes a good 6 months after release for them to start becoming avalible to the public, I decided it was worth jumping now. Thanks for all the advice guys. Cowboy10uk

No probs mate, at work now' but will test tonight when I get home and post on here for you. Cowboy10uk

Hi Andre, No the seat is completely silent at all other times, including when I either test motors or the massage function. It only starts to do this, once I have started the engines or APU. Tested in both A10 and KA50, Huey worked fine with no abnormal sounds. Cowboy10uk

Hi there, Sorry to bother you Andre. Just wondering if anyone else has a constant wining noise when using this latest version, mainly with A10. I know the motors make noise but my seat has never made this before, its like the motors are stuck, and they make a humming type sound that goes up and down in pitch at a constant pace, I can feel all the motors vibrating if I put my hand on them, but its not noticeable when I'm sat on them. all the normal rattles and bumps work fine, its just this constant noise, never heard it before. Sorry I know its hard to explain. Just wondering if others have the same, or if theres a problem with my install or seat? Cowboy10uk

Hi guys, I'm just wondering if anyone here is using a inno3d gtx 980 ti hybrid card. Reviews on it appear quite sparse, but those that I have found are very complimentary. I'm looking at updating my 680 4GB as everyone knows, I know I've been going on about it for a while now. ;) I think this may be the card I should go for, but struggling to get an idea of Frame rates I may get at 5670 x 1080 running DCS World. If anyone has any experience with this card or one very similar, I would certainly appreciate your advice. As I understand it, the TI Hybrid is on a par with the Titan X but for significantly less money. Cowboy10uk

When I get 1.5 or 2.0 or NTTR the first thing I am gonna do is...
Cowboy10uk replied to NineLine's topic in Chit-Chat
Damn the strips gonna be busy, at this rate we are gonna end up with a Huey jam in the skies. :). Sounds like every man and his dog will be flying Hueys to Vegas. Oh and I'll be with you. :) Cannot wait, the Huey will be the perfect aircraft to explore DCS 2.0 and the new map. Cowboy10uk -
Cheers for the replys guys, sorry for late reply, got sent away for work. :) I'm currently leaning towards the 980TI, while I am tempted to wait for the Pascals to appear if I'm realistic, they will be bloody hard to get hold of for at least the first 6 months, so I'm looking at least another 12 months before realistically getting my hands on one. While I do love my 680 4GB and to be honest it is running DCS fine at 5670 x 1080, no idea of frame rates but it's smooth, which is all I can hope for. She is slowing down on some of the latest games. As 2K TVs are getting quite cheap in price I'm thinking the best solution may be going for a large screen 42" or above 2K TV and the 980TI. Looking about I can pick up a 980TI for £560 and then another couple days OT will cover the cost of the TV hopefully. That should hopefully allow me to keep running in high to max settings for the next few years at least. Well that's the current plan anyway. ;) Cowboy10uk

:) fantastic, Just purchased a 3.5mm extension. Can't wait to try this on Rise of flight tonight. I must say, I can't believe how much better it is than the Buttkicker, and I thought that was good. :) Flying my Huey using this seat is just mind blowing, combined with Oculus Rift and You are There, you ARE in that helo. :) Amazing work Andre, fingers crossed you are planning on supporting us for a while yet. Cowboy10uk

Nothing exciting just an Astro A40. However I've just of a way it may work. Off to try now. :) Cowboy10uk

Not sure that will work on my setup, as I NEED the extra sound info to come through the second sound card the same way Andre has done for DCS, due to the fact I use An optical cable into a control box for my headphones. Sadly I don't connect using standard audio plugs for my sound. This is the same issue why I couldn't use my Buttkicker on my main card. :( BUT if I ever change my headset then game on. :) Cowboy10uk

Not your fault mate, I just have the type of luck that means customs always manages to grab me. Gits. On a happier note, the operation I was on down south was cancelled early, which meant a early stack and a trip home a lot sooner than I thought. Got back early hrs this morning, but as my beautiful baby girl has decided to get everyone up early, I've taken the opportunity to set the seat up. My wife luckily managed to pay the extra charges and collect for me yesterday. Wow, it really is plug in and play. 5 mins to setup, jumped straight into free flight in the UH1 and Bingo. Damn this thing is great, love the different feeling of vibration dependant on the rotor speed, really really adds up to a new dimension, I then very very quickly tried the A10 flight, trying out dropping bombs, flaps, gear, firing the Gun, missiles etc. very very impressed, and best of all my wife never made a comment as she didn't hear it, such a change from the Buttkicker. Ok, granted I've only had 5 mins to play, but DAMN I'm impressed, what a stunning job you have done Andre. Only real issue I can see it creating, is when I fly other sims like Rise of Flight, and sadly it won't be working. God I will miss it. Cowboy10uk

My wonderful wife has sorted it and it's now sat at home waiting for me to get home. The charge was Import VAT apparently as the item was above £35, sadly even if it's a gift, if it's above that threshold then you have to pay VAT. £19 for VAT, £8 post office handling charge. Sadly they changed the threshold in April, you can only get gifts worth upto £35 now before getting hit with VAT, bless this government. That said, it's still gonna be worth it, I can't wait, although don't forget to purchase an plug adaptor, so you can use it. :) Cowboy10uk

Woohoo, just had phone call from my wife to say my seat is here, well that said my seat is being held hostage by the post office as they want £27 import duty paid. :( However they don't take payment at sorting office and it's a bank holiday so it won't be ready until Tues. bloody robbing Bstards. Can't wait to finally get it setup though sometime next week. Cowboy10uk

VBS ProStart UH-1 Collective
Cowboy10uk replied to KomodoSim's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Pretty sure it just uses the DCS World control setup mate. As far as I'm aware it dosnt have separate mapping software. Just select it in controls and press whatever button you want to map. Cowboy10uk -
Very nice indeed, hoping my uh1 collective isn't that far away now. Didn't get the cyclic as I've got a floor mounted warthog, and still fly fixed wing from time to time, but the collective is a must have. Any chance of a vid of it in action when u get a chance? Cowboy10uk

Woohoo, does that mean, I need to expect an email Rich. :) Can't wait for her to turn up. Cowboy10uk -
Ok finally gotten around to trying this. a slight issue, I don't seem to be getting any output from DCS open Beta. Currently flying the Mig 21 and not feeling a thing. Simshacker for DCS is open, so is the sound module. Speakers (realtek High Definintion Audio ) Selected and when I play test sound, I do get an output through my Buttkicker, so it obviously sees it and the module has been activated with full set of effects loaded. SimShaker.Lua is in C:/Users/Myname/Saved Games/DCS.openbeta/Scripts Anyone got any idea where I'm going wrong? LUA file is below. Cowboy10uk SimShaker.lua
