  1. Order wingmen to engage and spam some AIM7 helps, but still losing lock too often when cranking left/right after shoot.... Guess I'll have to understand the radar use a bit better.... BTW: don't forget to drop the fuel tank ;)
  2. Well, the FCS limit is linked to the airframe attached to wings which take the load factor. On landing the reinforced main gear is taking the stress, not the wings. So not the same constraint limits I'd say.
  3. Well is it allowed to land with fuel and ordonnance in the first place anyway? Tried once and when on speed it's still wayyyyyy faster than standard case 1 tutorial :o Scary :D
  4. My technique is way simpler. After cable catch, I will aim couple of degrees right, full AB, and it's enough to get back in the air with full flaps :D Probably not a valid NATO procedure (:D), but if you wanna catch catch catch, that's way quicker :)

  8. That's the problem having high end pedals, can't combine axis :D Found UJR software that should be able to do this. Only problem is that it will install vJoy and add again other virtual controllers.... I have already too much controllers in fact :/ I'll try this method but if anyone has a DCS integrated method I'd be glad to use it !
  9. Hi guys, I have no rudder but a car pedal set that I'd love to use as rudder. BUT, no matter what I tried I was never able to configure two different axis (like clutch and throttle) to be able to control rudder properly.... I found a trick around here using both axis on rudder input with different curve response and so on but wasn't able to make it work. Anyone ever succeeded in doing this? Would be quite easy for ED just to add rudder left and rudder right in controller config :p Thanks
  10. Is current ATC always stating "runway 3-6" or is it really relevant to carrier course?
  11. May I ask something stupid? How to know the course of the Carrier ? Runway number stated by ATC over radio? Guessing the course when running upwind along the carrier?
  12. I had the same yesterday and thought I damaged something... But now I remember I was just testing the rearming function..... You are probably right!
  13. Yup I was exactly on time... Strange I had no encounter then. Had a second mission where I found 4 bombers that I could shoot, and my 3 mission, an F15 strike escort: again no trouble: the F15 could strike the target without any bogey encounter for me and my wingman. For the radio, I realized yesterday I was just stupid.... I thought the second radio couldn't use the same frequency range (because frequency ranges are different for both radios on the kneeboard)...... Then realized I could just set the package frequency on it :cry: Problem solved :music_whistling:
  14. Thanks for the campain!! Just had my first CAP flight yesterday but nothing happened, not a single bogey to shoot: but I believe that's good news :D Just one question for the frequencies handling: how should we use the radio? I was forced to use only Vuhf on channel 1 (element) to talk to my wingman, where I'd prefer having the flight com on UHF while monitoring either element/awacs on VUHF. Am I doing something wrong?

  18. By switching you mean replace one with another not living with both right? That's what I'd like to do actually. Don't need the LATEST version ever, don't want to have two versions at the same time... but WANT to test that 2.5 OB as soon as I can see if my computer handles it better.
  19. Hi! May I ask something stupid: can I install the 2.5OB and convert it to the release one when available? Just don't want to live with both versions when release is available.
  20. Yes I can also tick "arcade flight model" to avoid losing speed at high AoA.
  21. Is it off topic in that particular thread or just not implemented? :) Because I remember reading about that flood capability in some manual, but never could do it practically.
  22. Can somebody explain how to use that flood mode when losing a lock after a 530 launch? I could save a missile by relocking it myself but it takes some time to do this through radar cursor so chances to waste the missile are high.

  24. Thanks for all those tips! I tried to learn the various shapes in the encyclopedia, but was not sure of the skins actually used on the server: those are the same as seen in encyclopedia? I was not sure also of the tracers color for each plane: so green is definitly German I guess :)
  25. Had my first ground kills : you just need to aim indeed. At least on soft targets. Tanks I still fail to kill them after two complete cannon runs.... As for the dogfights I have a major problem in my spit: how to you recognize bandits? Are there typical things to notice like dihedral angle, sounds? My approach from now on is waiting to be shot to know for sure it's an enemy in my 6...... And even with this, I usually fight back to realize I was just being shot by a P51.... :D
