-Bignewy: Thanks for the assist anyways.. I just had my PC checked by a technician today... turns out my GTX760 is already busted.. Anyways im going to get my rig back. I'll just backup all of my files including the DCS Stuff i have.. Since my MOBO is an old H61ME the current graphic card lines on the market wont be compatible.. or so the technician says.. I might as well get a rig ready for DCS 2.5 What are the ideal specs or stuff again..? ..and do video cards only last for 4 years or so? I got my 760 back in 2014.. I always thought gaming hardware are rugged and have longer service lives than ordinary cards..

If my last update was 2014... How long would it take to update?

When i install the latest Nvidia Driver, do i need to update my Windows 8.1 OS?

I see, I'm not familiar with Display Drivers stuff as I'm afraid messing up very important files.. Is there a version of that DDU thing for the GTX760?

Old version of DCS... I can't upgrade to 2.5 because no funds for a super computer Nevertheless I'm hoping someone could help me or if people experienced this back in the 1.5 days.. ==== This just started today.. for some reason DCS 1.5.6 keeps crashing shortly after loading a given mission. Strange pixels/squares start to appear first... then followed by the crash... First time it happened, I remember reading some kind of Kernel Error something message in Windows menu... For some reason that message no longer appears.. but then still a constant Crash. Thanks. My specs: i5-3470 @ 3.30 RAM 16GB 500GB HDD GTX760 2GB OC Windows 8.1 Logs.zip

Finally, back to 1.5.6, Thanks ED for keeping the 1.5.6.XXXX.XX builds up in the servers... I'll settle on this version for now, whilst I save up for a newer rig for DCS 2.5... Cheers^

Thanks for the heads up. I will try it this weekend == Do you have v sync enabled?.. i enabled mine so my fps in 1.5 is usually 60.. I have the latest 1.5.8.. my Eagle's HSI distance readout is still not working... And well.. my PC's specs is not good enough for 2.5 that's why... centered around an i5, GTX760 OC... and old style 500GB HDD Cant upgrade to 1080 or something similar since my board and cpu box is small...it will just prolly have lots of conflicts with the motherboard... .. might as well buy a new Computer all together

I din knew there was some kind of updater utility. I guess i should try that sometime. But yeah so i guess we can rollback to specific versions then? ..and yes .. that would be unfortunate if we cant roll back to anything older than 1.5.7.... There' s so many annoying bugs here in 1.5.8... I cant even fly in overcast due to that weird annoying flicker.. cant fly at certain hours of a given night because of weird white clouds.. weird shadows during night time with quarter to full moon... the need to use at least 2 missiles to shoot down a fighter size target... ...and the HSI distance readout in my Eagle is gone etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc.. :(

So yeah.. is it actually possible to rollback to a specific version say 1.5.6 or I have to do it step by step..? like going to 1.5.8 build last january? Maybe that was my error...?

..still a 1.5 user here..^ Just stick with 1.5 for as long as it's still there. At least you still have a flight simulation for your hobby, passion or so.. Though we'd be unable to get the latest stuff.. at least we could still do virtual flights. :) We're in the same situation.. no money to buy a better PC all together... ^^; I'll prolly get a new Rig by AD 2020 or 2021.. perhaps by that time, DCS 2.5 would be super optimized already... or maybe it'll be DCS 3.0.. ;)

I managed to correct it somehow.. but yeah.. It's still downloading even though the download size has exceeded the stated files size.. Did I do something wrong again? *still downloading at the time i made this post...* EDIT: Great... now I wasted 4 freaking hours trying to rollback. ..guess I 'll just have to live with this broken 1.5.8.13716...... btw I'm trying to rollback to 1.5.6.5199... Can't rollback.. So I guess all the other 1.5 builds were taken off the servers or something? I'm aiming for 1.5.6 since that was the build before much of the things in 1.5 got broken...

Nope.. we need to get at burn though ranges just so i can designate targets to my wingmen... Anyways I guess I'll just issue "Engage Bandits" instead.. At least they seem more aggressive unlike if I assign a specific target to them whilst they let themselves get engaged even if the primary threat is already in front of their noses.. :)

Just verifying.. if this is the case.. can i somehow rollback to 1.5.7 or earlier? There are things here in 1.5.8 that I do not like.. or shall we say.. problems left unresolved.. (e.g. Weird Afterburner flames, Missing Distance counter in F-15, weird overcast clouds, etc, etc...)

I tried it. It didn't worked. No commands issued.. I had to go STT just so my wingman can focus on a given target.

I remember back in 1.12b that it was possible to designate to wingmen radar targets.. without entering STT thru the TWS mode.. Now i have to enter STT whilst the contact turns on its jammer, complicating things up.. So how do we manage wingmen in combat?

I personally like the Rhino because of the fond memories of a certain study sim in the past decade. Much like the Eagle, its now one of my faves. ..any module pertaining the superbug would by an instant buy for me^^

Same for almost all planes it seems... Some few days ago i was flying an Eagle and our flight was up against two Zhuravliks.. It took like 2 AIM-120s to nail one of the Su-27s... Much worse with the Tu-160 a few weeks ago.. It took half of my missile load just to take it down :D .. a pair of slammers and a pair of sidewinders.. Then last night, i was in the Su-27 against another flight of Zhuravliks... took an ER and an R-73 to take the traitor down lels... In another flight.. i had too lob two R-73s against a rogue Su-17...:doh:

BRA Bullseye ideally changes everytime.. its confusing for me sometimes...

After flying the Zhuravlik for the past days... It definitely takes more effort to fly this bird.. and somehow it made me appreciate the F-15's FCS even more.. It feels more rewarding after managing to shoot something down with an R-27R/ER.. ..considering Semi-Actives tend to get spoofed more by chaff.. at least for me.. PS: I'm prolly calling the Su-27 & it's derivatives Zhuravlik now.. thanks to that Light Novel that had a character with the same name. She is an avatar of an Su-30 on steroids or something... Sorry if i seem like a weeb... :D

perhaps the RWR display is now colored or something...? ..Engine Thrust gauges seem to be similar to the F-15E's...
