  1. You are the greatest!! Jozeff
  2. What do I do with the .wx file that is created by ASN? I have absolutely no clue how this works. I mean, where does this little program find the weather that is created by Active Sky?? Thanks for any help! Jozeff
  3. Thanks, gonna try that. Fortunately I have activate sky next in all sorts and forms... Great tip!! Jozeff
  4. Hi guys, Would love to fly in some real world weather in dcs.... Is that possible?? Thanks Jozeff
  5. Hi guys, Is there a way to pimp the colors a bit in the Huey in VR. Love my new rift s but everything looks so bland and dull. Only thing I can change is gamma setting but that doesn't change the saturation of the colors off course. Used the Shader mod in the past but that doesn't work in VR ad far as I know. Thanks for any hints and tips! Cheers Jozeff
  6. Hi guys, Would like to add my own documents to my kneeboard. I used kneeboard builder in the past but I don't see my added documents in the game. I added some png files to the kneeboard folder in dcs/mods..Huey...etc. I had to reinstall Windows 10 and just let my dcs folder where it was in drive F. Now I don't have the proper dcs folders in my saved game folder on drive C. Is that a problem? As far as I understand I have to add the png files to the kneeboard located on my C drive or is that not the case? Also I have the Argo campaign and I'd like to add the PDF files to my kneeboard. Do I have to alter a .Lua file for that or can I just convert the PDF file to .png? Or is there another method to read the goal of the mission while flying the mission? Thanks for your help!! Jozeff t
  7. I've the rift s and used a gtx970 for a while with a 2600k and this worked ok-ish. Since you have a much better video card and better cpu I think you will be fine if you don't crank up every slider. Jozeff
  8. Mmmm, very interesting Thank you. Do you mean that your fov will be smaller so that you get black bars on the sides? Or will the resolution on the edges be smaller? Jozeff
  9. Ok, can you read the gauges clearly in the rift s? My cv1 is always shimmering and jagged lined and that's what annoys me the most. Is that better in the rift s? I'm hesitant to buy the rift s because of the small increase in resolution compared to the rift cv1. Thanks Jozeff
  10. Thanks!!! So, the colours in the reverb are that bad?? I've got a cv1 and I'm thinking about the reverb but a rift s or odysee + are also interesting. It seems like the odysee + is no longer available in Europe? Why is that? Some people say the rift s is no upgrade from the cv1 at all but others say it's a different world...... Very confusing. Your reverb died just before I wanted to buy one! Are there more reverbs dying or are you just in bad luck?? Thanks for your update!! Jozeff
  11. Ok, bad news! Just wanted to order one..... How many hours did you use it for? Is it the first batch one or is is the one with new clip? Thanks for sharing this,! Heard pretty good things about hp service but this doesn't sound like that. Good luck and keep us posted! Jozeff
  12. Thanks for your help!! Guess it's gonna be the reverb then...
  13. Thanks for your replies, Well, indeed a lot of comments were about the black screens and lack of power delivered by the USB ports. I have a separate USB card fed by the PSU. Well, I guess I'll have to go for the reverb then. First, build a hefty pcsnd then order the reverb. Cheers Jozeff
  14. Hi dormicum, I'm planning on buying the reverb myself and since you have a 2080gtx I'm not considering a 2080ti because that thing is almost 1300euro here which is insane... Cuervo, you bought a rift s. Congratulations. You're experience makes me doubt the reverb again. It's your first vr set right? I have had a cv1 for 3 years so the vr wow effect had worn-out a bit for me. The rift s might not be the enormous upgrade I would expect. Since I need a new PC anyway I might as well get the reverb. Still read a lot of negative things about reverbs quality and issues... 2nd batch seems to be a lot better however. I don't care about the controllers since I've hardly touched them using my cv1. I have a thrustmaster warthog and good rudder pedals. Ohohoh, choices to make and money to spend.... Any wise recommendations are welcome. I have a 2600k, ddr3, gtx970. My plans are: 9700k or 8700k ( what do you think!!!!), 3200Mhz ram, 2080super and decent motherboard. Thanks guys and happy flying!! Cheers Jozeff
  15. Hi boedha, How is your 2080 handling the reverb? I'm pretty hesitant to buy the reverb because of mixed reviews. I have a cv1 and a GTX 970 so a rift s will give me a good experience boost as well I guess.....so hard to choose... If I buy the reverb I'll have to get the 2080ti I guess and that thing is 1300 Euro here .. ouch What do you think? Tnx! Jozeff
  16. I'd like to know also..... Interesting to hear about your experiences!
  17. Hi guys, Would the gtx2070 super be able to run the reverb? Don't care about very high framerates and I willing to turn down shadows etc. Resolution is very important to me. I'm thinking about the rift s or the reverb. I have a CV1 and a gtx970 i7 2600k@ 4.5 GHz. Option 1: keep my current system and upgrade my graphics card to 2070 (if possible in my motherboard) and buy the rift s Option 2: buy a new cpu/motherboard, a 2070 super and a reverb and hope that I get enough fps and that my reverb doesn't black out or is defected If I run the reverb below maximum settings would that be as good as a full blown rift s experience? Any thoughts would be great
  18. Hi Guys, I have a gtx970, I7 2600 k and 32 Gb memory. I will have to upgrade weather I buy the rift S or the Reverb. Thinking about a 2070 super, i7 9700k and a lot of memory. Currently I have the CV1 and I have doubts about: -the Rift S because I don't know if the resolution improvement is enough compared to the CV1 -the Reverb because I will have to spend a lot of money on the graphics card and I dont know if the colors are vibrant enough and if the brightness is ok. Really looking forward to someone who used the rift s and has the reverb right now!! thanks a lot Jozeff
  19. Maybe I'm way behind but are the troubles with the reverb history now? I've been reading a lot about overheating and loose connections....this worries me a bit. Really like this device and I am a bit scared i will regret buying the Rift S instead
  20. Hi! I'm thinking about buying a rift S or the reverb coming from a cv1. Why should I go for the reverb? I need someone to convince me and it sounds like you have the experience.... Thanks Jozeff
  21. Ok sound good. I had a c64 in the mid 80's when I was 11 or 12 years old. Somehow that machine amazed me more back then than the vr headset I have now.. Nevertheless, let us know how your reverb is doing! Jozeff
  22. Congratulations! What are your PC specs?? Have fun! Jozeff
  23. Hi guys, Posted this somewhere else but this se seems to be the right place... I'm heavily thinking about the reverb or the rift s. Currently I havea CV1 and GTX 970, i7 2600k @4.5 GHz. I was wondering if a 2070 super is powerful enough for the reverb. I'll get a i7 9700k and a new motherboard of course. My current system is not powerful enough for VR in the first place so my CV1 always struggled to give a good performance. I want to get a 2070 super and a reverb or a 2070 super and a rift S. A 2080ti is too expensive for me. So, could a 2070 do the trick with the reverb if I turn down some sliders?? Thanks a lot!! Jozeff
  24. Hi Would a 2070 super run the reverb? Perhaps turn some sliders down? Or a standard 2080? The 2080ti is really above my budget....it's about 1200 Euro here... I'm interested more in clarity than in high shadows and a lot of trees... Thanks
  25. Hi guys, Would a 2070super be able to run dcs properly? I7 9700 k and 32gb3200 memory. A 2080ti is super expensive,is it really necessary? Thanks for your advice! Jozeff
