  1. The USN removed the covers for the same reason. The person who said it was because of sand doesn't know what they're talking about.
  2. In the early 90's even the CAG birds were pretty subdued.. However, as time went on the CAG birds (200/100 modex) were full color with the CO's bird (101/201) being only slightly less colorful. There were some exceptions to this.. In VF-103 modex 103 was full color (because duh), in VF-213 modex 213 was VERY full color, in fact it's last cruise it was the retro overall gull grey color.
  3. That wasn't an approved load due to balance issues. The best you could do is 2 Aim-9, 3 Sparrow (one on each shoulder, one centerline aft) and two Phoenix (forward).
  4. 154 and VF-2 regularly carried the Phoenix on the shoulder stations...
  5. Question: Will there be a stock mapped profile for Warthog included with the Tomcat?
  6. That sound as he brings the throttle over the horn to idle is absolutely erotic...
  7. Nice top gun reference there, Jester.
  8. Even more good news!
  9. Thanks Cobra!
  10. Yes..VF-84 never got into the B.
  11. Goddamn.. I feel like I need to smoke after that... And I don’t even smoke!
  12. The shot of the mixing screen? Yeah it sounds really good..I just thought you meant a really really recent video (like in the last 3 days)
  13. ...? Where's the new preview? the Cover picture?
  14. You're waaaaaaay off base. HB's said the Tomcat is in roughly the same place now that the Viggen was in 2016..and the Viggen hit EA in late Jan of this year.. The Harrier is releasing before the end of this year. If your logic was sound then they would be delaying that until after the 2.5 merge also.
  15. Most of the time the cover is removed to prevent them being knocked off during air refueling and sucking it down an intake.
  16. Those were Mk81’s..250lb
  17. It's literally right there..
  18. You hear the pilot say both Mig-29 and Fulcrum. AKAIK the only Flankers the USN did DACT work with we’re from Ukraine.
  19. https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3243319&postcount=65
  20. That's not IRIAF footage. That's from Fighter Fling from DACT with Luftwaffe MiG-29's.
  21. Yes.. More than likely an old F-86, F-100, F-4 or perhaps an old cruise missile.
  22. That's what I gleamed from it also. And that while a Tomcat throttle grip wasn't *out of the question*..it wasn't necessarily planned yet.
  23. Me too!
  24. You guys are awesome, plain and simple. Question.. VKB mentions their throttles will also have switchable grips.. Might a Tomcat throttle be in the cards too?
