  1. Yep, SLI gives me a boost in frame rates. Noticed that my frames dropped to 37 average in VR on a single card, but solid 45+ in SLI in VR. At least for the Gazelle module.
  2. Jungle Forest Penetrator (MEDVAC) for extraction of troops.
  3. Not much mentioned about this aircraft that was very similar to the MiG-23B. Would be nice as an option included in a MiG-23 module release. It has some Afghanistan and Kashmir war time service. Mostly retired at this point, even India in 2018. A nice strike aircraft addition to the Red Side as I see no Su-24 coming anytime soon.
  4. Yep, agreed. DCS is good, but competition will come, it always does. It will come with a vengeance, and we will all be there with our $79. Until then, DCS...keep the shine on.
  5. I would love there to be a perpetual active campaign on a server that routinely generates missions that players can opt-in and accomplish. I've worked with a number of nations and at the battalion, brigade, division, corps and higher level headquarters and it would be nice to see mission generation based on current ground unit needs. Most CAS missions happen this way whether on call or part of a fluid campaign or planned campaign. Lots of fun coordination with the ground unit (freq., call-sign, marking targets, etc.)
  6. As long as it has a heat signature and a DM, I'm happy some people will fly it. Go for it, do you.
  7. Yep, there is far more to it than a LEGO operation and clasping it all together. Point well made.
  8. Yep, agree. Even I have been guilty of stating multithreaded over multi-cored. IMO always better to build your own computer, and usually far cheaper and with some well thought out plans can get a superior rig for what you want it to do.
  9. Yep you are getting it. Keep at it. 4xFPS with 4x FPS is CRAZY. Doesn't work like that. Eh... better implementation of multi-core was the term I was looking for (Might have been the 3AM sleepies getting to me). Seeing all the comments it appears that it should be PRIORITY #1 or even #2. Even though it is a great product that we love, there is room for improvement. Gaining a few FPS here and there is awesome and worth it. Reading dozens of conversations on here is not doing research. although entertaining. LAME!
  10. Great multi-core support will come. Great product, great modularity, absolutely love the game. I think overtime they will get the improvements down that better utilizes more cores. Gaining a few FPS here and there will be awesome and make the experience better.
  11. F-111....Vietnam to 2010. Immense bomb load, tandem seating, supersonic on the deck, swing wing, and talk about history. Brits, Aussies, and Americans flew it. Deep strike, tactical strike, and anti-shipping.
  12. Sky redrawn and ghosting effect. I'm getting the same in VR, the redrawing of the sky after leaving the Map(F10) going back to the cockpit(F1). Also sometimes but not every time in VR there seems to be a blurring or double vision effect. Other times it does not happen. The effect seems to be a second drawing that slowly catches up to the first with head movement. Just imagine the HUD having a ghost image that gets redrawn a 1/2 second later. Sometimes I am able to exit and re-fly and it is gone. Wondering is anyone else has experienced that type of ghosting.
  13. I tried going back to flying on a monitor but quickly switched back to VR. It just doesn't compare. You feel like you are there with VR. It makes you a better pilot. You lose a little bit of sharpness but you get a richer experience. Landings definitely became easier, in fact when I got the F/A-18 I made a carrier landing on the first attempt. I'm fairly confident in saying I would not have been as successful without them. VR just places you there. VR in DCS is the way to go. Eventually VR goggles will get sharper and with a wider field of view. Pimax is already bringing better goggles to market and others will have to follow with their sets. If it wasn't for VR I would never have bought any modules or even have stayed with DCS for that matter.
  14. Might as well make a C-17 and go all Cadillac. :)
  15. Same here. Usually held steady at a minimum of 45 FPS sometimes shooting up to 90 FPS in Oculus Rift. Now I'm seeing 25-35 FPS at times.
  16. The North Vietnamese supposedly called them that. After they fixed the first set of aircraft on their combat debut their second deployment to Vietnam was impressive. I guess they left an impression.
  17. Same for us Army Airborne in WWII when one the Germans called us "Devils in Baggy Pants" (504th Parachute Infantry Regiment, known as The Devil Brigade to this day, Sicily, Italy). Good stuff.
  18. From Vietnam to The Gulf War, this attack platform has been used in deep strike, anti-armor, and anti-shipping roles. Second fastest US jet to the SR-71, could do Mach 1.2 on the deck, tandem seating, huge payload, swing-wing, 50 years of service with multiple countries. Destroyed more armor in the Gulf War than the A-10, known as "Whispering Death" in Vietnam, and did the long distance raid on Libya. Dedicated strike aircraft.
  19. F-111 The F-111 would be the first strike aircraft on my wishlist. Tandem seating, supersonic on the deck, terrain following radar, and an immense arsenal of weapons it could deliver. It was the workhorse of the first Persian Gulf War and it's history dates from Vietnam to 2010. A truly incredible deep strike aircraft known as the Pig, but eventually received its nickname of "Aardvark" only after it was retired. Flown by the United States, United Kingdom and Australia, so its a win-win. Australia even used it in the anti-ship role and had a huge range.
  20. Just picked up VoiceAttack Looks exciting and will begin training with it. I think it is much needed and hope that it will make the DCS experience that much better in VR.
