Hold on here so So you're saying I could plug my 4090 + 3090 in the same mobo and enjoy a 1300W Space heater ? I dug out some old ass <profanity> from the forum Circa 2010 In regards to DCS there is a slight performance boost with SLI and Crossfire but it's really not worth the cost (it's only a few FPS). I run my GTX295 with the SLI turned off and use the second card for whats called "multi GPU AA" , it offloads all the Anti Alias onto the second card and makes it look way better with zero performance drop. DCS is more CPU bound. If your graphics card is decent you're better off with a CPU upgrade...

I am bringing this topic back from the dead. (For the one still with us) Would that work with a 4090 + 3090 ? Slayer There are different modes of SLI, the default mode has each card rendering half of the display for Nvidia cards. Not sure on ATI how they do it for crossfire. Using different cards isn't reccomended by either Nvidia or ATI but they both support it. It's called "hybrid sli". Since you didn't specify what chip makers cards your using its slightly different for each.. In regards to DCS there is a slight performance boost with SLI and Crossfire but it's really not worth the cost (it's only a few FPS). DCS is more CPU bound. If your graphics card is decent you're better off with a CPU upgrade... If your using Vista or 7 it's a hassle to get it to display on several monitors unless you have a THTG or something similar, especially if you are thinking to use one for ABRIS or shkval display.

From AMD7800X3D to 9800X3D, stutters!!!
Obic replied to motoadve's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
It might be irrelevant but on the X870 but on the X570 when It came out(Early Bios), A SOC voltage too low would cause all kind of weird <profanity> with audio and Ram instability -
Has anyone order the 20nm one instead of the 35nm version? Do you think it's worth it for a extra 100 euro or not ?

Upgrading from Oculus Quest 2 to Meta Quest 3 ?
Obic replied to Ranger1882's topic in Virtual Reality
If your GPU can sustain it Encode Bitrate to 800 to 900 is really good with link cable. (Can be any high quality USB A to USB C 3.2) Then scale up the resolution in the oculus app, I suggest keeping 72hz as it allows you to run without ASW if your GPU can do it. -
Lunch Game CTRL + Numpad 1

That's the problem I have with these type of post What hardware is the first thing on the list that should be mentioned. What settings in the second one Cable Link - What bitrate - what resolution- ASW on or off - VD : What was your transfer rate - router speed - what codec did you use at what rate etc (The amount of people on their discord running VD 5ghz sub 1200 mbps is baffling) Black mask is something I've never experience with VD
-
I Tried one It's the most Idiotic and useless Piece of hardware, I've ever seen.
-
I personally Uninstalled every bit of Oculus PC software from my PC after VDXR came to life. VD is a quality of life improvement period. (Start VD on PC , Put headset , select VD, Done) Link cable use to drop frames, crash and do weird <profanity>, needed to alt tab, windows scheduler wouldn't see it as a priority etc. (Official link cable in the Mobo USB too) ASW is bit better than the VD SSW Imo but I run at 80fps Stable in MP no SSW so I couldn't care less. I run VD at High(same as oculus 1.7x), SSW off, H264+ @ 350mbps (Router is AX3000, 2400mbps on the 160mhz band) DCS everything on High @ MSAA 2x 5800x3d, 64GB Ram, 4090 @ 2800mhz I can run Godlike mode at 72fps stable WW2 servers with 50 players but PARIS !!! make it drop to 60fps and I find spotting harder. I also experimented with High in VD + 1.1 PD no MSAA but i'm not convinced. Quadview is really nice BUT the CPU overhead is just enough to drop fps into ASW SSW territory on big MP servers sadly. As for the link cable at 960mbps, YES it's better looking until the encoder <profanity> itself in heavy MP and can't maintain 72fps and drop frames every so often.

Is there a collaboration btw Heatblur and VKB for a B8 Style grip for the upcoming F-4E Phantom ? If so any chance to get a Ultimate version of it & the option to NOT have the Twist Grip

VKB is a stick & Hardware manufacturer While their connector are amazing they are different than Virpil and Thrustmaster. So a adapter need to be installed when buying *Exemple the F-18 Stick* -

Obic replied to _BringTheReign_'s topic in DCS: Mirage F1
That's it I'm buying a bamboo lab X1 Carbon Do you think you'll make a VKB version for it ? -
I still think they should go the Black shark III like upgrade/update way for like 15-20$ ? Revised texture and model Modernized Early or late 1990's avionics Improved A.I & Co-pilot Revised Armament Add troops movement in and out

MiG-29A FF: capabilities and how will it fit into the (meta)game?
Obic replied to PawlaczGMD's topic in DCS: MiG-29A Fulcrum
DCS Best timeline is 1980 to 1995 MIG-29 is perfect for the 1983 to 1992 stretch that's 9+ years .... Who's going to like it, People that understand it's basically a glorified Mig-21Bis and use it as such 90% of the DCS Servers are made to cater to the JDAM and 120c7 addicts Enigma seems to be the only one to get this timeline concept DDCS is not too bad because the Mig-29A and Mig-21 are put in as point defence fighter on advance airfield but it could really use the whole logistics of weapons and a smarter GCI 1980 to 1990 USN/USAF/USMC F-18C is the closest opponent we have in the game for the time period. (Aim-9L + Aim-7F) later (Aim-9M + Aim7M) up to 1992 F-14A/B with similar loadout is the same. (Does shine in that era with the AIM-54) F-16C Aim-9L or Aim-9M that's it. Until limited number of Aim-120B 1991+ AV8B could be loaded with a period correct loadout. F-15E Aim-9M + Aim-7M + LGB + TGP that don't work over 15 000ft (Have fun with that) The bad reputation is basically from the 100 vs 1 ratio the Iraq Airforce had to deal with. A-4E Can be included with a stretch depending on country etc Mirage F-1 All versions & weapons Fits right in Mirage 2000c Fit's right in with all weapons. Mig-21Bis still fit's right in depending on country Mig-23MLA Same- 265 replies

Cyber monday is upon us & I have money to burn. Current system : 5800x3D, X570 Ultra, 64GB 3800, 4090 Aorus WF That 5800x3D has been flawless since day 1. Looking into the AM5 : 7950x3D or 7800x3D, X670 Elite, 6400 DDR5 (I Know the 7800x3D) is the better gaming chip. 7950x3D owner with similar setup Do you have any problem with the scheduler or that's been fixed ? How's VR ? any micro shutter ? Do you like it or it's a major pain in the ass every time you start a application ? How's the heat/Power draw? Can you maintain 90fps in VR with fairly high settings ?

I notice a lot of performance drop also with 2.9 I tought it was oculus update at first but no 2.8 was super stable, but Even if I have the FPS & Frametime trough brute force it start to jump all over the place at random I did notice my Vram was not as utilised like 7/24GB I tried dialing back settings & no luck 5800x3d (HT OFF), 4090, 64GB ram Ran the usual repair & Clean up
-
I have 64GB & wouldn't go back to 32GB But, Like mentioned above if you don't have Quad Channel 128GB might me useless in 99% of the case. Then again 128GB owner could prove us wrong.

Thank you for the quick reply It's been a month so maybe I missed something I'll give it a shot as soon as I come back home in a week

I ran a few intercept practice the other day & going high Mach number would result in a flame out. (Everything normal here) But Unlike the Mig-21, I cannot modulate the Afterburner to avoid exceeding critical Mach Despite the large throttle movement visually, the thrust seems to remain the same when the AB is on. (Ctrl+Enter was on) Did I miss something in the manual or it`s a On/Off type of afterburner deal Thank you

Can someone possibly give me a TL;DR on engine management?
Obic replied to Tree_Beard's topic in DCS: P-47 Thunderbolt
Like it should be Max wide open throttle can be sustained as long as engine/oil parameters are kept under control. You just increase the chance that a weaker part might <profanity> the bed. You can run boost in excess as long as it's not detonating. *Problem for you it's a game so your ass won't feel it* so restrain to operation manual. Radial love speed as the airflow takes all the hot air away & cool the back cylinder better. That being said coming back to the field in Real life, you would inform the crew chief that you exceeded the 15minute limit for the prescribe manifold */ Rpm. Peaks of playing the game we get a factory new aircraft every time -
I second the motion

What’s your PC spec slug head ? you lost me at 200mbps
-
I know that but mechanically, I think it's flimsy. There's still minimal amount of twist from the stick if you have hard enough springs
-
Probably a unpopular opinion Option to or Outright disable ''runways'' Rearm + Refuel. (In multiplayer) Apron & Ramp only
